You get what you pay for. And what you are getting here us quality care, thorough examinations and optics that will fit your personal needs. Dr. Rappaport is very caring and uses modern technology to examine his patuents. The facility is clean and very professional. He takes his time to get it right. As a hobby, Dr. Rappaport is a comedian and a very talented singer / actor who donates his talent to children with special needs in the community. His light comedic touches really appreciated and help to remove some of discomforts that can take place during an exam. (Bright lights...Kensington shifting, etc.) The gentleman who fits the glasses is equally professional and patient. I can't phantom why someone would use one of those "glasses-in-an-hour" places. Those can't be precise and crafted with care. I also wouldn't use an in line facility because they can't fit you. I cam clearly see (pun intended) why I will be a patient here for life. read more

Can only comment on the initial call that I made to this establishment. I called up and asked them if they take my insurance, which they do. The woman who answered the phone was very discourteous and spoke in a monotone and bluntly informed me that I would not be able to be seen for approximately two weeks! Mind you we are talking about an optometry shop, and not even a real MD's office. If you cannot muster a courteous interaction with a prospective new client, maybe you should rethink being the first person who interacts with people.. Needless to say I took my business elsewhere-because life is too short. read more

Several years ago I had two pairs of glasses made at Costco. I've got a peculiar set of eye problems that has challenged both ophthalmologists and optometrists. The Costco glasses gave me about two years of visual misery, so I made an appointment with my eye doctor, who in turn sent me to Central Vision. Dr. Rappaport performed the single most comprehensive eye exam I've ever experienced. He methodically went through a whole series of steps and came up with a prescription. I then sat with Dave the optician and got the new glasses going (with my own rims). The first set was my daily glasses, and when they were delivered I left more rims for the sunglasses. I have to credit these folks, I'm seeing better than I have in years.This is a very professional operation. So why four and not five stars? The two sets of lenses (remember I used my own frames) cost about six hundred bucks! For four lenses I feel that was a lot of money. I can't fault the job done though. I've never been better able to better see where I shouldn't have hit that little white ball!!!!! read more

Dr. Rappaport is great. He helped me wear my contacts again and I can't sing him enough praises. A friend of mine recommended him and I must say that if you need an eye doctor or have any lenses problems he is your guy! The location is also great, right on Central Ave. The receptionist though leaves a lot to be desired. Every time I call to re-order contacts or to make an appointment I always get a handful of attitude and get a feeling that she is doing me a HUGE favor. If not for that I would definitely have given 5 stars. read more

Excellent selection of frames, and there service is top notch, when ever I need the smallest adjustment or anything done urgently they are more than willing and helpful. I recommend them to all my friends and family. There manager at the front is very knowledgeable on the newest and modern frames out there. You can't beat the care you receive and the selection of frames at Central Vision Care. For years I went to the usual big chain businesses, but their selection is the same at every location, and the quality just isn't there. Central Vision has a great selection, and they are experts at helping you select the right frame for your face. dr Rappaport is a top physician.....He is very thorough and meticulous ......the eye glass selection is very limited.....if you have wider temples he hardly carries eye size 51's......if you want a top notch exam Central Vision is the place.....if you want glasses I would buy else where......the manger who sells the frames is grouchy and unpleasant to work with....he does not have a can do attitude........ read more

They didn't mind that it took me a couple of hours to pick out my glasses! I don't usually like going for exams but II I actually enjoyed my experience at Central Vision Care. I saw Dr.Rappaport and he made me feel very comfortable and confident. It took about 2 weeks to get an appointment but the wait was worth it. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. When it came time to select my eyeglass frames I had Mark, the optician, help me select a beautiful frame and he gave me a lot of information on my options. The frame selection was extensive with many different designers. I highly recommend this fine office. read more

all this dr wants is your co-payments and thats it , he does more then what is necessary for a normal eye exam so that he can charge you the co pay plus an additional fee - this dr is a complete rip off !! read more
