Richard was amazing help. But this one girl with dark hair and piercings was so rude. We came in to…read morepick up an order and to return another. I started the return on Amazon (mind you I don't return things usually so this is a new experience) it was from a third party and no QR code was issued. So I had to pay for shipping but instead of telling me that the girl was almost talking down to me saying "this is all you have ? You need a QR code" I showed her that is all the return process printed out and then she rolls her eyes at me! She throws the paper and says she can't take those. (Fast forward I went to ups and they were able to help me ship it out and informed me about it saying it happens from 3rd party all the time) So then I was a bit frustrated but I kept my composure because God is watching. So I asked if we could pick up my couch and she needed an id which it was storming out and I forgot it and I had a picture of front and back and she rolls her eyes and says no I need it physical. Ok at this point why the heck are you in customer service if you're so rude. You can inform someone nicely not roll your eyes. It gets better. So the next day we go to pick up the couch and I have my id and Richard helped us out and the girl was back there. Richard was very kind and welcoming 10/10 with him. When he was grabbing our boxes that girl wrote a note on it saying "ask for her license the customer was very rude" And I saw it on the couch. Are you kidding me ?! I was rude when you roll your eyes at a customer. Again. I could've been a bitch but GOD IS WATCHING. Rude people should NEVER work in customer service. I saw her in the back and told her "I was rude ? You rolled your eyes at me and yes I was frustrated but I didn't take it out on you because it wasn't on you. But when I turn my back and my boyfriend sees you rolling your eyes at me then who is in the wrong" I hope that girl gets written up or finds a job better suited for her because the fact she wrote a note the customer saw was so unprofessional and her attitude just sucked. Otherwise Richard was amazing !

Super easy to place the order online and pay ahead of time so pick up was fast. A good sized parking lot with designated Fedex parking spots. The space is clean, organized, and spread out. I went straight to the print counter and was helped right away. The staff was friendly and made sure all of the prints looked correct before I left. The prints were high quality. Thick paper, excellent color, and overall great quality. Very happy with the experience and products. This will continue to be a go-to print location for me.

Overall I like Spruce Tree music, but one must be aware that this store has its limitations…read more Visit this store if: - you already have experience with an instrument and are looking to purchase a high quality instrument - you are a beginner willing to invest in a high quality instrument - you are looking to refurbish an instrument and want a very honest answer whether it's worth the investment in terms of resale value Do not visit this store if: - you are not ready to invest a significant amount of money into an instrument - you are looking to get by on what you already own - you are looking to refurbish an instrument with sentimental value that may not be of high quality I've had good experiences coming in for guitar accessories. The gentleman who runs the shop is exceptionally knowledgable and has always made excellent recommendations. The woman behind the counter can be very pompous at times, but the good outweighed the bad in this case. On the other hand, I wanted a little bit of work done on an old violin I picked up cheap, just enough to get by while I learn the very basics and how to care for a violin. I'm not quite ready to invest in a good instrument for fear of harming it out of sheer ignorance. This store is not the place to go for "good enough". I understand the luthier wants to take pride in his work and to him that means all or nothing.

I'm conflicted about this. I've used Spruce Tree in the past for guitar work, and they did an…read moreexcellent job... but that was maybe 8 or 10 years ago. NOW... Spruce Tree has become elitist as hell. Unless you're bringing in a $1000 or higher guitar, be prepared to have it INSULTED by Wil, the luthier, and for YOU to be treated like a mentally deficient child. Unless your guitar has C. F. Martin or Gibson on the headstock, go elsewhere. Lowly Yamahas are beneath the dignity of Wil to even touch. I knew full well what I wanted done, and all of it's implications. Wil flatly REFUSED to even consider doing the requested work, advising me that "this guitar is junk, and you shouldn't invest one dollar in it", and "I'm too stacked up with work to waste MY time and YOUR money on this!". If you want to have your instruments worked on, completed much more quickly, and be treated with some personal respect besides, I recommend a trip out to Dave's Guitar Shop in Fitchburg. I'm sorry to say that Spruce Tree has gone way downhill since my previous encounter... and the latest encounter will be my LAST. Wil does damned fine work, but I don't have to put up with this kind of trash talk to avail myself of his unquestionable talents. With great regret, I hereby state that I'll never set foot in Spruce Tree again. Wil may be a salty old curmudgeon, but so am I. Adios, Buddy... it was nice the first time, then it went bad.

This place is really special. I've attended shows, played shows, and recorded twice now at the…read moreWillyMag and never had a bad time. If you have the opportunity to go, do not miss it. Owners Tessa and Mark are skilled, friendly, and creating a very unique atmosphere there. Recording: I've had the opportunity to record in several studios across the Midwest, and WillyMag is head and shoulders above the rest. It is an all-analog studio. They do not even dump the analog sounds to digital to mix - one of the only (maybe the only??) places in the country who do not mix digitally. This anachronistic and highly-technical method seems a bit intimidating to a non-gearhead musician like myself, but Tessa and Mark explain things in a patient and not condescending manner when you ask questions. Their equipment is top of the line from cables all the way up to the 7' reverb plate. As recording engineers, Tessa and Mark are very good at listening to what you say you want and helping create that sound. Furthermore, the pricing is reasonable and they work with you to find a way to make it happen. Attending Shows: Always a low price, thoughtfully curated line-ups, excellent sound quality, an intimate setting. Yes, it gets a bit hot in the summer, but there is free water. It is a substance-free area, so family friendly, and the shows start and end early. It fills a very important niche in the Madison music scene with those parameters, and I have seen some excellent shows there. Playing Shows: Extremely low key, one of the more enjoyable places to play in town. It is a small stage, so you're right next to the audience, which tends to result in repartee with the crowd and more stripped-down performances. Tessa is clear and efficient when it comes to explaining set times and facilitating gear sharing to make shows move quickly.
