I scheduled and paid for a class. A few hours before class I got an email saying it's cancelled due to rain and was told to reschedule. This was over a month and a half ago. I emailed back 4 times trying to reschedule and didn't even get a reply. Pretty fucking unprofessional...

It's great archery range! I love the staff there, they are very friendly and helpful! Had a lot of fun there.

You can schedule online a day before for a certain time slot. And the staffs are very nice and friendly. The period lasted around 1.5h and we had great fun. Since it's outdoor range, it's also good for social distancing.

    Love a good bull's eye :)

Nick was an excellent instructor. Great knowledge to answer any and all questions yet gives you your freedom to let loose. Very safe experience for my first time shooting a bow! The price is very affordable and I don't see how you can go wrong with a place like this. The difficulty ranges for both experienced shooters and newcomers. Great for events and the membership option is a handy way to save some cash.

This was a fun activity! Great staff, and really seem to enjoy it and make it fun. It can be good for couples, groups, and families. Plus you can imagine being a Game of Thrones character or Legolas for an hour and a half. Which is pretty rad. I do appreciate that this is a non profit organization. So I definitely think it's worth going out to try something new or gain more experience with. You can snag a groupon as well!

I was looking for the perfect outdoor Archery Range, thanks to Yelp I found what I was looking for. I sent an email asking about coming to the range because I already have a bow with some experience. Within 24 hours I received a response saying that I should come to a "First Time Class" and if all goes well I would be able to get a membership. I signed up for a class for me and hubby. I figured this could be a Saturday date for us. I noticed after signing up that they have a Groupon, but I decided to pay the regular price, no biggie. We arrived on Saturday on time and the instructors and one of the owners was there. Everything looked like it was set up and ready to go. There was a total of 9 participants there. Hmm, this would be a good idea for my hubby to present to his boss for their monthly team building events. When checking in Jessica was very friendly and gave us the history of Central Texas Archery and future plans. Right on the dot, we were all in a short orientation of what bow we would be using and the rules of the road. The instructors Addie and Tyler are experienced archers. They were professional and funny. They made class fun and they were excellent with assisting us with executing our bows. This place is good for dates, groups and family outings. We had a great time and plan on becoming members and I will be getting a new bow - a recurve bow!

Had an amazing experience learning archery here! Dave and Jessica were fantastic instructors. They have a designated division of classes specific to people with disabilities which is amazing. Our instructors were very encouraging and we got to do a lot of shooting. My hubby and I will definitely be joining the annual membership! Great value, super fun experience!

This was an awesome family activity! Took my 3 kids to shoot in the First Time class and after 20 min of safety rules and equipment set-up, we were shooting for over an hour. One of my kids got too tired and the one that didn't want to go was the one who did the best and even scored a 53 out of 60. The instructor, Jess, was awesome and membership is affordable. The best part is they provide EVERYTHING! Seriously considering getting into it myself.

Our group of three had a great time. We did not have any experience and the two instructors were excellent.

Ask the Community - Central Texas Archery

Do compound shooters come here? This looks specifically only for expensive recurve bows. Also, is their a daily fee you can pay to shoot, rather than an annual?

Thank you for the question! Almost all bow types are welcome here. The only restrictions we have are no crossbows and no broadhead arrows. We have recurve bows and simple compound bows available for our shooters to use who do not have their own… Read more

Yvonne can totally take you too. =)…read more I started with them in..... um, early 2005? It's been awhile. Seen a lot of changes, but all for the better. As of late, the spin classes have expanded to every week day and they've added a yoga studio and CoreFit training studio. I haven't had the chance to try it yet, but I know the instructors and everyone says it's the real deal, not just some bootcamp 3-week intro deal. I think the big factors in differentiating this program from the others are: 1. support - from the coaches and teammates. They don't think it's crazy that you want to do a triathlon or an ironman or a marathon or a 5k. And although there is limitless info to learn when getting involved in endurance sports, they really try hard to teach you what you need to know when getting into this type of thing - nutrition, training plans, body maintenance, stretching, strength training, overcoming mental and physical challenges. And believe me, there is A LOT to learn. Besides knowledgeable coaches, the members are a varied and experienced group, including doctors, physical therapists, nutritionists, 30x ironman finishers, etc. 2. challenge - these people will challenge you. I joined because I wasn't sure I could train well on my own. There have been many times I thought I would drop dead from a practice, but it helped me become stronger all around. (There is also emphasis and caution not to push beyond your capabilities or fitness level so as to stay safe and healthy.) 3. team environment - whether you are good at making friends or not, you will not be alone in your endeavors here. Seeing other people struggle and succeed, and then cheer you on is priceless. I've seen more volunteerism and solidarity here than anywhere else. 4. it works - I wanted a challenge, to get "in shape", and feel strong. I've accomplished all 3. I have completed sprint, olympic, half ironman, and ironman triathlons. I have raced in bike time trials and crits. I have lost probably the equivalent of about 15 lbs and gained visible muscle. I feel confident I could beat somebody up now. =) Oh, and I didn't swim or cycle when I started.

Referees often don't ref, rules aren't enforced, and we witnessed multiple kids get hurt this past season. The whole point of flag football is non-contact play and teaching kids teamwork and rules -- but instead, the lack of oversight has made it chaotic and unsafe. When parents or coaches try to raise safety concerns, some referees become argumentative rather than taking accountability. If you value your child's safety, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere. We will no longer support this club until major changes are made, and I suggest other parents do the same.

They claim they cannot do the practices due to make up games for the rest of the season. There was only one practice and all the kids played street ball instead of real basketball during the games. My eight-year-old was in a 7 to 8 year-old league and ended up playing nine and 10-year-olds in the playoffs. The other team's kids were telling them their ages. You usually can see one or two kids in the entire league where you question their age. This team had five or six players that all looked over eight years old. I don't think this league checks ages or enforces them. It's pretty sad to allow a team to play down an age bracket just to win a championship.
