This is a wonderfully ran, and wonderfully built school that truly provides high quality care for our children and believe me, my standards are very high (I try to be easy going about it lol but at the core of it all, I would never accept sub standard care when it comes to our children and frankly, neither should you.) Our daughter started at Cadence about 2 weeks after she turned 2YO and this is our first child so there were a few things at play here. 1. Due to COVID, she had not interacted with other children as often as we'd have liked and since she hated Gymboree, we thought she didn't want to be around other kids :/ 2. We had been her sole caretakers for two years so she really wasn't used to not being by our side every moment of the day. 3. Her nutrition, cognitive development, and social skills are things I think about a lot and was important that whatever daycare we chose did a great job in these areas. 4. Uh...did i mention she was no fan of Gymboree classes? She would sit on my lap the entire time we would go and we went for 3 months straight so I thought she didn't like organized leaning environments for some reason. So I thought a daycare would be a difficult transition for us. However here's what actually happened. Ms. Lisa was excellent reaching out and ensuring all my questions and concerns were addressed. Through our conversations, I could tell the kids and their learning environment were the priority. On the first week, our daughter cried (as expected), but her teachers Ms. Jade, and Ms. Leslie were so warm, kind, and attentive right off the bat that she would calm down soon after we left the room and in the 2nd week, she only cried once. Third week? She was walking in by herself!! Here's what I'm seeing...it took a child who had minimal interactions with other kids/adults 1 week to adjust, stop crying, and begin playing with other kids. she may not have been home with us, but she felt safe and secure to adjust so quickly, and THIS is of utmost importance to me. I also want to give a HUGE shout out to Ms. Kiahna -- she would readily check on my daughter to see if she has settled in 5-10 mins after we left and let us know she is either doing fine or still settling in or sitting on Ms. Jade/Leslie's lap. She was always honest too lol and I loved that I never got a generic answer. Honestly, this is a kind trait that I truly appreciate. Also Ms. Brooke who is the new teacher seems so pleasant, and lets me know how my child did when I come to pick her up, without me asking. I REALLY appreciate it, because it tells me she pays attention to each kid and who doesn't want that. I just think the people hired here are exceptional. Nutrition is important here and it's balanced. One time, when it started getting a bit cool outside, they served turmeric chicken, pasta, and oranges :) and if you are unnecessarily into nutrition like I am, you know turmeric is a great anti-inflammatory/antioxidant for cold weather so I was pleased to see the thought and care they put into their nutrition. And yes, I so love that they send you pictures of their activities, play outside, nap length of time and what they eat throughout the day. This school gives what it is meant to give and much more and we are beyond grateful and happy this is where our daughter has begun her educational journey :).

When pressed on why their door by the playground was open and why a student would get out, the center just claimed it was easier for those to leave during emergencies. If you care about your child's safety, there are plenty more centers to take your child that will care about your safety.

There was no apology, no follow up email, and no offer for a refund. This was a scheduled get together for my child with three other friends. Four families drove in traffic to get to this reserved event and found an empty store front. Incredibly disappointing, unprofessional, and unresponsive. I had to contact my credit card company to get a refund.

We were drawn to The PREP initially for the independence and exploration the school offers. Kids learn beyond their classroom and the playground. There is an indoor gym, a tech room, an outside classroom, splash pad (for summer) and a cafe/art studio. At a young age, our kiddos were learning how to transition to new spaces and learn in all different environments. There have been changes with leadership and teachers during this time, but I feel like every change has been for the better and with the kids in mind. My 2 children have always felt comfortable with their teachers and as a parent I know the school leadership is listening to any concerns I might bring and addresses them appropriately. My oldest just graduated preK and I feel strongly that she is ready for Kindergarten. The PREP makes learning fun and my kids playing "school" on the weekends is a testament to the environment that is being fostered here.

My concerns are primarily related to communication, child safety, and how behavioral incidents are handled. One of my biggest concerns has been communication with parents when serious incidents happen. I do not feel that parents are always adequately informed when their children are involved in incidents such as biting or other physical behaviors. When a child is being hurt by another student, I believe parents should be notified and given a clear understanding of what happened and how the situation was addressed. I have also had concerns about repeated behaviors such as hitting, kicking, and biting. From my perspective as a parent, there does not always seem to be a clear or consistent approach to addressing these situations. I believe children deserve to feel safe at school, and parents deserve to feel confident that appropriate steps are being taken when safety concerns arise. Another concern is the consistency of communication from management. At times, information and expectations have seemed unclear or inconsistent, which can be frustrating for families trying to understand what is happening and what procedures are being followed. Choosing childcare or a school for your child requires a great deal of trust. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I do not feel that this is an environment where I am comfortable recommending the school to other families. I strongly encourage parents considering this school to ask specific questions about HOW injuries AND behavioral incidents ARE handled, WHEN parents are notified, and WHAT MEASURES are in place to keep children safe.

Each morning starts off on the right foot thanks to Miss Lorraine, who always greets us with kindness and a smile. Miss Teresa and Miss Donna and the administrative team deserve so much credit for everything they do behind the scenes (and often right in front of us, too!). They're always approachable, professional, and eager to help. You can tell they truly love what they do their communication is clear, their leadership is steady, and they treat every family like part of one big extended family. They go above and beyond to keep everything running so beautifully. And of course, we have to give special thanks to Miss Elizabeth, who is an incredible teacher. She creates a classroom that's both structured and full of joy, where every student feels seen and supported. One of the things that stands out most about this school is the sense of stability and consistency there's very little turnover, which says so much about how well the staff are treated and how much they love being here. We had them out for our son's birthday party and I gotta say it went well. He arrived early and was set up on time. He stayed a bit longer than expected. He was professional yet fun and dealt with some of the difficult kids like a pro. I can't recall his name, but think he was from Sweden originally. The show was fun and he taught them magic tricks and did a magic show. Apparently he inspired a few of the kids to learn magic as weeks after the party they are practicing what they learned as well as learning new tricks. That's cool to see. Anyway, highly recommend.

We LOVE our classes at the Art House. We found out when we were visiting their other location…read more(sapling studio) when they used to open play and create. We loved that concept but understand it wasn't as busy as it absolutely should have been. Such a gem. Anyway, we were late sign ups for this session and attended 4 classes and one bonus thanksgiving week one. My kiddo is 2 and she has so much fun here. Each week they have a theme like "going to the farm" and "transportation" and set up stations through out the house that apply to it. It feels very "kid-led" in the best way. She can decide when she wants to work on her canvas that they create through the session, or if she wants to work on a science experiment, play with lights, etc. There is so much sensory play activities and I love how it's okay to get messy and learn at the same time. The outdoor space is super fun. There is a large wall the kids can paint on. Lots of stations that encourage them to use their imaginations. We love the mud kitchen and the little "store" set up. Lots of time was spent on the pretend phone taking orders. We live in the Tarrytown area so it's a little bit of a drive but 100% worth it. There are such few places that invite toddlers in and lead the way. The next session starts in January and we are really trying to make it work the preschool schedule and nap times.
