I cannot say enough good things about this gem of a woman! Shaymaa and Kaelynn are also fantastic!! Our experience with the staff as parents was always very positive, my son's needs were met and he received an excellent foundation from the staff at THK. We had no major issues until recently when the owner and director put my infant daughter to sleep on her stomach in flagrant violation of all safety recommendations and best practices. She told me she was "old school" which indicated to me that she knew about current guidelines and chose to ignore them. While we had no major safety concerns up until that point, we could not leave our daughter in an environment where *management* blatantly ignores safety. If safe sleep is ignored, what else is going overlooked? We liked the teachers we had but couldn't stay after that. I don't generally post reviews but I feel it's important for other parents to know. I have since spoken with other parents who have withdrawn their children about other alarming issues as well. The current owner has no business whatsoever running a childcare facility. ETA: we were at the other location but it's the same owner for both Dessau and Cedar Ridge locations.

Apparently the sky trail concession stand was closed (but yet they still had it included in the email to send money for your campers!?) He also promised to send me an email with his direct contact info so if I decided to give the camp another try, I could get ahold of him since the camp director never bothered to respond to me. Well, I never heard back from him and I didn't get that promised refund! I called a week later and he processed the refund and offered to send me that email. I told him this was very bad business and now my daughter definitely wouldn't be coming back. He didn't really care and gave the excuse that they have 600 kids coming through the camp each week and he was so busy. It would have taken him no more than 5 minutes to make this right and refund my money. When a place can't handle the lowest level of customer care and business, I'm definitely not going to trust my child to be in their care. We were so excited to try out YMCA Twin Lakes this year because we have only heard amazing things. Unfortunately, our experience was NOT amazing. It would have been salvageable if my concerns were answered and addressed but it's been over two weeks now and the director has yet to call or email me back. I called twice, texted once, and emailed twice. If I can't get ahold of a camp director with issues, it does not make me feel comfortable having my child in their care. We did a "cake decorating" camp and the first day they used markers to color a worksheet with a cupcake on it. Pretty lame but thought maybe they didn't have much time the first day. Second day, they used mashed potatoes to practice piping icing. Third day, air clay sculpting. They didn't end up actually touching real cake and icing until Thursday and Friday. The camp just didn't deliver on the magical cake decorating experice we were expecting. All could have also been forgiven if they could have been doing some of the amazing activities provided on campus. My camper struggled with the heat, long lines and ultimately, running out of time for activities and not getting a turn. They also only got into the water twice the whole 5 HOT days. Very disappointed with the camp but even more disappointed that I reached out with concerns and they never bothered to answer. There are too many amazing camps in Austin to bother with one that doesn't seem to care or acknowledge that they dropped the ball on this camp. To make matters even more frustrating, we recieved an email with a link to put money on our kid's account to buy popsicles, gatorade and snacks throughout the day. I put $10 on my kid's account and she was never afforded the opportunity to even visit the snack shop while at camp! It's non-refundable and I reached out to also request a refund and have yet to hear back on that as well. Couldn't recommend it to anyone.

I let Maddie know we would be cancelling our membership on July 1st, making the 30 days expire on July 31st. Maddie stated that we would be charged August 1st because they require an additional bill cycle when receiving notice. It does not say that anywhere when you sign up, nor do they tell you that. When I asked for a manager or the owner or whoever could help me with this issue, Maddie stated in a text message that she was the program director and nobody else could make the decision. All this to say, be careful about signing up for this program as their business practices are terrible.

The review that I made 11 months ago when we unenrolled I just noticed a response and it said that we had never enrolled or been part of that school. I then started to look and noticed that several of the reviews that were one star had a similar comment about not being legitimate. I'm here to say that that is 1000% false. Please see our enrollment and disenrollment information Make your own decision by reading reviews, but just also know that the one star reviews are more than likely accurate especially with the level of specificity that was provided. This is a bold face lie saying that negative reviewed. People are not part of the Childrens Lighthouse records.

My daughter just turned 2 and has been attending for almost a year now. She's been in 2 different classes during that time (older infant and then toddler) and we have never had a disappointing day. The director Manju is so kind and helpful. The front desk/admin Annette is warm and welcoming everyday. My little girl always gives her a big hug. Our teacher Angela is a superhero. I don't know how she does all she does with these toddlers! On top of that, the company has an amazing app, cameras to check in on your child, the teachers send photos and updates throughout the day and the meals and snacks always look so yummy. There are "theme" days (today was wear your favorite Disney!), curriculum, school wide events (hello Trunk or Treating and Thanksgiving lunch!) and parent teacher conferences to keep parents engaged and in the loop. This was the first experience my kids had at a preschool, and they struggled with being left for the first few weeks, but each other teachers was patient and understanding. They helped them transition into this new schedule with gentleness, and soon my kids couldn't wait to go in the mornings. On more than one occasion my older daughter would ask if I could come pick her up later because she was having so much fun. Now that I'm finished with school, going back to work and finding childcare for my youngest was a no brainer - why would we go anywhere else? My hope is to keep him here as long as possible! I'm so thankful the open communication I have with their staff, and their policies during everything that's happened since last March have been easy to understand, and appreciated. Their director Joyce is very hands on, and helpful in meeting our childcare needs. Other staff members have been so kind, and I love that my kids love going to their classes. The way they keep me up to date through their app is also super awesome. 10/10 would recommend.

Thank y'all so much They helped ease a lot of stress and anxiety when it came to having my baby in a daycare setting. This center just opened and Lashelle and Manoj were so helpful and understanding in our situation. So knowledgeable and kind. I appreciate them so much from the tour to our last day.
