I want to make sure that parents are making an informed decision. Certainly some families have given positive reviews. While others have given one star reviews. Ours is a one star or negative one star review at this point. Here's why. The review that I made 11 months ago when we unenrolled I just noticed a response and it said that we had never enrolled or been part of that school. I then started to look and noticed that several of the reviews that were one star had a similar comment about not being legitimate. I'm here to say that that is 1000% false. Please see our enrollment and disenrollment information Make your own decision by reading reviews, but just also know that the one star reviews are more than likely accurate especially with the level of specificity that was provided. My son has been attending this preschool since he was 6 weeks old and every classroom and teacher he has had has been nothing short of a great experience. Three weeks of my eighteen month old attending classroom four- she was still behaving extremely upset about being there (crying at drop off, and even getting extremely sad/emotional at pick-up) & I kept getting reassured that it was normal- since she'd never been in daycare before. One evening when picking up my child, I could hear her screaming/crying from down the hall. She was in the room across the hall at the very end near the exit to the playground for transition. There was an unknown teacher to me yelling to her "You're fine!" in the ugliest tone. Mind you, my child isn't even two yet. I watched at the door before walking in to make sure I was not overreacting. There's my daughter standing in the middle of the room- crying- almost hyperventilating holding a doll. The teacher finishes cleaning up a could of toys nearby, stands up, walks past my child- stands about two feet from her completely ignoring her. I walk in & am hugging my baby to calm her. Then I hear her SCREAMING at a child "SEL*NE- STOP!" and this other child couldn't have been much older than mine- turns around to notice me squatting there w/ my baby- and she smirks and goes "Gah-lee!" & giggles. Like its funny to just scream at toddlers. Note: All of these kids were politely sitting at the table. I immediately went to the front to explain the neglect of my child, and the verbal abuse of another, to Lyric in the front office, and she assures me that they would address this as soon as they can- & tells me that my child won't be in her care at any point moving forward. The next morning, I brought my child in a bit later- after 9am- because I have to work, and being new to the area- childcare in less than 24 hours isn't feasible. At this point no one had even spoken to this caregiver at all yet- due to them wanting to have multiple people to witness the conversation? So risking someone who is that upset to be caring for a bunch of toddlers is a safe & nurturing environment for the remainder of the evening the day before was just "fine"? Once the management staff spoke to her, the owner called me. Told me that the caregiver was "hard of hearing" and that I simply must have misheard her nasty tone of voice and her screaming at children? Then it was that she was yelling because that child had scratched another child? Yet... she made zero attempt to go comfort the injured child or ensure that there was no real injury? Just stood by me with a smirk on her face. It was "I'm not making any excuse" but then all she was giving me was excuses. She kept referring to the caregivers age, like being young excuses her behavior. Not to mention her most renowned excuse was that she typically works with older children... By older she meant FOUR year old kids. So it's fine to scream at four year old children?? Within a few days I told them that my child would not be returning- Due to this incident, and how uncomfortable I was with her being there. WELL- per the contract I signed, a two week notice is required for unenrollment. They made sure to let me know, and made zero attempts to take responsibility for us needing to unenroll, quickly having to find alternate childcare, and then having to pay new registrations & tuition rates. FINE. I signed a contract, I'll pay. Now almost 2 months later- I went up to the center yesterday morning to grab some diapers I left & to get their EIN. No mention of a balance. They tell me the director isn't in to provide it & that she will call me back. Well I called back today to get it since she never called or emailed it to me, to be told they're literally withholding their EIN number from me until I pay it (which I intend on). My credit card on file did not work, & I got no phone call. Zero emails. No communication at all about a balance. Until today. Were they going to wait for it to go to collections? I'll end with the fact that it only took 2 DAYS for my child to not cry at pickup, or drop off at her new daycare. She's happy to go now & is smiling & singing when I arrive to pick her up. read more

If you have an infant sign them up! Ms. Rachel is an incredible infant teacher at the daycare and we know our little girl is in good hands with her. The entire infant classroom team is great, but Rachel deserves a special shout out. In addition you can tell the entire staff loves working with children and will often see admin helping in the classrooms because they enjoy spending time with the kids. They are also great at keeping parents posting of all the happenings throughout the day with our child. We love getting photo updates throughout the day! Highly recommend this location! read more

Since moving our daughter to Children's Lighthouse, we could not be happier. The facility is beautiful, all the staff are helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable and the made our daughter comfortable extremely quickly. Her teacher Miss Jayme is amazing, our daughter has learned so much so quickly. She was not quite 2 yet, but they put her in the 2 year old class, and she meshed with them so quickly and well. Everything has been beyond our expectations and we can't wait to see how well her progress continues. read more

What can I say about this place my son has been going here for preschool and then continued with APK ( advanced pre kinder ) he went after COVID so we gave him a little extra time before kindergarten. I have loved this school since the first day and so has my son it is clean and fresh and they take safety of children a top priority which I think is great . My son has learned so much from this school and the environment he will no doubt be far beyond prepared when he goes to kindergarten this fall ! I love the fact they send you pictures of your kids daily enjoying themselves playing and doing work it's a sweet touch and a scrap book memory. The play ground is a plus it's shaded and has room for all the kids to run and play as well as a splash pad and my son loves splash pad says . They offer a lot of extras during the year and summer . My favorite being date night on fridays living in Texas without family this Friday a month has really been a blessing and my son is is familiar with everyone and loves his teachers so it's a easy moment of pizza party and a movie for him . Just one of the many things they offer my son did Spanish class extra but definitely worth it he also Does a groovy bus on Friday's a super cool thing for the littles . All in all I can't say enough about this place and me and my son will be sad when he starts kindergarten he has made some great memories and friends here . read more

As a mom, childcare facilities taking safety seriously is my top concern. Among many other things I have been impressed by, I happened to witness an incident yesterday that made me applaud this team and know that my kids are safe with- and prompted me to come check out the reviews to make sure the ratings reflect this place. A parent (who also came here to comment about his "experience") came in to the wrong location for a tour, and was very impatience and clearly agitated. He got aggressive when he was not immediately helped, asked if he could just go walk through the facility on his own (HELLO- NOT WITH OUR KIDS HERE) and then got angry, belligerent and started hurling expletives at the staff when they wouldn't interrupt another tour. I stood back to watch because I was worried it would escalate further, and was ready to call the cops. A belligerent screaming man who dropped multiple profanities, including the c-word at the director up front- not someone I want around my kids. The staff swiftly asked him to leave, and when I popped outside, I realized he was likely belligerent because he left his child outside.... Also, more than willing to bet this was the wrong facility - he had an appt at another location. I appreciated that the director and others did not cater to this man, who mentioned "just wanting a sale" in his review and upheld what I expect in a facility and the people who are around my kids every day by asking him to leave. I also was appreciative that they did take what the man called crazy steps to keep him from coming on the property because after the behavior I witnessed and the way the world is today, it genuinely worried me. Additionally, outside of this incident, I have been privy to some amazing acts of kindness, the staff going above and beyond for my family, and I am so happy to be a part of the Children's Lighthouse family. read more

As a mom my top priority is to keep my kids safe which is why I am so thankful to of found Children's Lighthouse for my children. My infant loves being at school and Ms. Chelsey and Ms. Holley take the absolute best care of her while im busy at work which helps ease my mind daily. My 5 year old loves Ms. Kelsey's class too. She makes all these amazing projects that help keep my kid engaged and she comes home daily and all she can talk about is how amazing school is. Can't say enough good things about this place!! All 3 of my girls have attended Children's Lighthouse, 1 aged out this year and was completely heart broken she wouldn't get to see her teachers there every day. My youngest started here at 6 months old and is now in the pre-k class there which I could've put her in the elementary for but chose to stay due to their curriculum. I feel she's definitely getting a better pre-k experience here and learning much more then she would've if I'd have put here in the elementary's program. She loves her Spanish class at the Lighthouse along with all the extra classes they offer! And my middle daughter started here for pre-k and is now in the after school program. From day 1 we've always felt super safe with our kids here. They've always been attentive and very nurturing. If there's ever any issues they always let me know as soon as it happens and let me know how it was handled. I am appalled by the level of care they are offering lately. This new teacher took over the 2/3 year old room and my son gets bit in the face by another kid. I asked what happened and they said my son started kicking a kid and then he got bit by another kid. I don't expect this level of care from a place I am paying 25k a year to watch my kids. read more

This school is the absolute worst. They hire ANYONE. I have had countless issues in regards to my child's safety from this school. I have seen with my own eyes, a teacher yank my son (2yo) by his arm and then push him away. I called immediately and Courtney went into the class room. Mikayla called and made excuses after excuses for that teachers actions (she's new, doesn't know how to deal with kids the right way yet etc.) Noor, the owner of the school actually managed to apologize on behalf of that teacher and actually took some accountability for it. I moved on from it and let it go. Moving forward to sept 17th I noticed some small bruises on my child's right arm near his arm pit. I didn't say anything because they were very small and looked to be fading away already so I let it go but took pictures to document it. And thank god I did! I have seen teachers guide the children to somewhere else in the class by grabbing them by the arm but little do we know how hard they are grabbing them and digging their nails into their little arms. It's either Ms.Liz or Ms. Laly who is hurting my child. But I'm 99% sure it's Liz. Fast forward to last night, October 28th, I noticed all these bruises and even some broken skin under my child's left arm. So what do I do? Of course the next morning I went and raised hell. & I'll do it again when it comes to my children. Of course, Ms.Liz ran away as soon as I confronted her. Cops were called and I filed a report on them as well as with the state. This teacher and this whole school is getting away with too much. Don't fall for their fake peppy positive attitudes during greeting. It's the fakest sh!t I've ever seen. I have had it with this school and the way they treat my son. A parent can only take so much, & when YOUR STAFF IS LEAVING BRUISES ON A TWO YEAR OLD & YALL DONT SEE AN ISSUE WITH IT THATS WHERE I RAISE HELL!! Shame on y'all for protecting your staff and not the children. They hire anyone at all and don't give 2 sh!ts about the kids. If you care about how your child is treated then don't enroll them to this school. My kiddo is super excited to start this summer. They have attended in the past and had a wonderful experience. The staff was always so kind. They greeted with us with a warm smile creating a friendly and welcoming environment. The owner often puts together fun events at the school which allows us to interact with other parents as well as watch our children have fun with their friends. The summer program has fun weekly themes, activities, and field trips. The facility is clean which is also very important to me. I have always loved the staff and teachers here, they are warm, kind and loving and I have always been very happy with my child's development and social skills over the four years we have been with them. My son is always Super excited to come to Day Care and see his teachers and have fun. such a great place to work and also such a great place to enroll your kids truly one of the best day cares I have ever experienced in my life. 10 out of 10 from me!! Run in the opposite direction! I'd give a zero if it were possible. In fact, I've never even made a review but this is warranted. Made an appointment, to be sure I called and confirmed twenty minutes before. We arrived on time, 3-4 employees doing nothing behind the desk, while one desperately tried to get a sale. We were on a tight schedule so after waiting for 15 minutes I asked if someone will take us on our tour. They said we never made an appointment (I called and confirmed the appointment 20 minutes earlier). The manager was snide, arrogant, and smug as she began to make me question my own sanity (gaslighting). She took zero accountability for the lack of professionalism under her wing and instead smiled with a smug condescending mug - gross. It was clear that we would never leave our child under a "leader" with these kinds of values and we cancelled before we attempted any further to get a tour. They'll reply to this with excuses, say we scheduled elsewhere (I called both locations to confirmed location and time) and continue to desperately be perceived as a wonderful group and people. This leadership will trickle down to how they treat children. They don't see children as something to care for and educate... they see $$$. Looking forward to hearing their reply full of excuses and twisting of the truth to fit their facade. To put on display the arrogance that most likely trickles down from their ownership - our diaper bag was left in their lobby. When we called and asked then to kindly leave it out front, they had a police officer there to dish out trespassing warnings. Criminal. Trespassing. I am so thankful I found this center for my daughter! From the beginning the management has been so warm and inviting! Mikahla and the entire front staff was so helpful and informative during the touring and registration process. My daughter is in the 4 year old class and is so excited to go see her teacher Ms. Chloe everyday! She is amazing and is so great with teaching the children. Every Friday my daughter comes home with so many art projects and writing assignments and is so excited to share with me all she has learned! At first this place was great. Teachers were very caring & really did try to help & assist your child. I started having problems with my child always having a wet/dirty diaper at pick up when he was with a specific teacher. We moved classes and problem was solved. Teacher recently transferred as lead teacher & diaper issues came back. I picked him up today in the SAME diaper I changed my child in this morning at 8 am. I picked him up at 12:05 with his pants soaked and the diaper gel all up his backside. Spoke to owner who continued to state one time occurrence and issue has been resolved with timers on their ipad. Do NOT go if your child will be in classroom 5. You will not be able to guarantee their health and safety and documentation is spotty and incorrect. read more

The Children's Lighthouse Cedar Park - Brushy Creek is the best place to send your child. We have been sending our little boy here since he was about 5 months and the amount of things he has learned in the past 8 months has been vital to his development. Each class he has attended has taught him so much! All of the teachers, administrators and staff show the upmost care, love and respect for the kids. From when we drop him off to picking him up, they greet him by his name and open arms and excitement. Their approach to the COVID pandemic was swift, accurate and secure to the point where when we were deciding to send him back, we had no hesitation or concerns about CLBC's protocol. They also give a lot of feedback on what the daily activities and meals that he received each day were and how he interacted with them. And there are always so many photos of him enjoying himself. I never have to worry about checking on him because when he we drop him off, he is comfortable going into the building with the staff and when he is coming home, its honestly sometimes hard to get him to leave because he loves it there. They also give back to the community which is a huge plus from movie nights to the recent Halloween Trunk and Treat and now the local can food drive. Not only do they give so much love and care to my family but they give back to others. There will never be enough great things I can say about everyone at the Children's Lighthouse at Brush Creek. They have made my life as being a first time mom and finding the best head start for my child a whole lot simpler, enjoyable and comfortable. Thank you to everyone that works so hard over there! Parents please read this before sending your kids here. We decided to send our 18 month old son here due to all the glowing reviews. He was placed in the 18-24m class. Everything was good until I started noticing abusive behaviors from a teacher named Clarissa. The first incident was when I noticed her using her foot to kick the cot with a child still on it. It was after nap time and she was trying to remove the little girl from the cot. After many attempts of kicking, the girl did not move, so SHE USED HER FOOT TO FLIP THE COT OVER AND THE GIRL FELL ON THE FLOOR! I was shocked at what I saw. But I was doubting myself, maybe i was reading too much into it. So I gave her every benefit of the doubt. Then later, I saw another incident. The same teacher was cleaning up the toys. There are 2 play areas in the classroom, one is about 6 feet from the other. She kept throwing toys from one area to the other. That would be perfectly fine except there was a child sitting right in the middle of the play area where she kept throwing the toys at! I deemed that as careless but again said nothing because I didn't trust my instinct. The last straw for us was 3 days ago. I went on the camera to quickly check on my son. They were putting down the kids for nap. Most of the older kids had laid in their cots already but there were still a few younger ones wandering around, including my son. To my absolute horror, the same teacher yanked the arm of a little girl next to my son until she was at her waist level then THREW HER ON THE COT. After the girl landed on the cot, she did not move at all. I immediately texted my husband and asked him to get on the live camera. My son was standing right next to that little girl! My husband logged on right away. About 2 mins later, WE WITNESSED WITH OUR OWN EYES THAT TEACHER GRABBING OUR SON BY HIS ARM AND THROWING HIM ON THE COT THE EXACT SAME WAY! It was at 12:08pm on 4/25/22. Our hearts broke into a million pieces in that moment. My husband immediately pulled him out of the daycare. We had a meeting with the director and the owner Ms Noor and that's when things took an even worse turn. Both the director and the owner were extremely defensive. The first thing they said after hearing about the incident was "Ms Clarissa is an excellent teacher. We have never received any complaint from any parent. We can't imagine her being a malicious person" When we asked them to replay the footage- we had the exact time stamp when it happened, they said they don't save any recordings. Unfortunately, this live stream app also prevents parents from recording for privacy reasons. However, if we can't record it and they don't record it either, when things like this happen, it becomes a he said she said situation with no possibility for evidence! They even made remarks such as "You're a first time parent aren't you" to hint that we were overreacting. Yes I am a first time parent that's why it took me 3 incidents and seeing my own son being abused to finally say something! Because I didn't trust my instinct! We originally asked for the school to move that teacher to a different classroom but they declined. Instead they said they could move my son to the 24-36m class. He's 18 months old! He's already one of the youngest ones in his 18-24m class. How does it make sense that my son has to move to a class that is way beyond his developmental stage and the teacher who shows abusive behaviors can stay like nothing happened? When we said we would not be bringing our son back to the classroom with that teacher still there, the owner didn't seem concerned because they could just fill his spot. The teacher Clarissa is still employed in the same classroom, handling children. If we had a video recording or any type of hard evidence, we would be talking to the police right now. But infuriatingly we don't, so I can only say something here for all parents to be aware. My heart breaks for that little girl who got thrown to the cot right before my son. She can't talk and her parents may never know what had happened. read more

From day one when I was losing my mind filling out countless applications and calling countless centers to try and find somewhere that both my girls could go to, Children's Lighthouse stood out from the rest, they were responsive, they were very kind and open, they were able to explain everything about their programs/school and answer any and all questions I had in depth. When I went to tour the school I was blown away by how nice it is and how friendly the staff were! The director walked me around and showed me where the girls would be and she had so much great information there was maybe one or two questions I had cause she had already covered everything else I was wanting to know. She answered my questions without hesitation and with just what I was hoping she would. I knew from the start this was going to be a great place for my children to learn and grow while I'm at work and that I would be able to feel safe and at ease knowing they were in great hands! My daughters have been going to school there now for well over a year and they are doing absolutely amazing! Anytime someone asks me for advice on what schools/daycares to look at for their littles I ALWAYS recommend Children's Lighthouse! If you don't believe me go check it out for yourself! We have moved from Georgetown to South Austin since we started going here and I still take my kids on that extra long drive just to go to this school we won't go anywhere else! read more

There's another 1 star review on this page that tells of the exact same situation I went through with my sweet 18 month old baby daughter. This is my experience: This was our very first time sending her to daycare and my husband and I were quite nervous to begin with. Went in for a tour and the facility looked great so we decided to sign her up. We were excited for her to be in an environment where she'll be playing with others her age and getting diverse activities to keep her little hands busy throughout the day. We also liked how we had access to cameras. Once we got our camera app set up I began watching it and it wasn't long before I began to notice the lowkey abusive behavior of the "teachers" or whatever they call themselves. These people did not give a damn about the children. The things that I saw on a daily basis: - Extremely rough handling of children - Cot kicking with children on it - Continuously slamming a child's head down during nap time if they were having a hard time going to sleep - "art time" was 5 seconds long and all for show to take a picture to show parents, look we did art. They would put the kid on the chair, push their hand in paint, take a picture, and immediately wipe their hand and put the next kid down. That is NOT art time, that is NOT explorative play. Kid barely has any time to figure out what the hell just happened. I'm a full grown adult and if you did that to me I would be pretty darn confused. - a lot of 'moping around' by the teachers looking like they had zero interest in what they were doing - I did not see any positive engagement by teachers and children - I did see a lot of favoritism by one of the employees who seemed to have a daughter in the class who would frequent the classroom to go sit there and hold her and cuddle her. These are literal babies. If you're doing that to one, you're going to need to do it to all of them. Absolutely ridiculous. - When I would pick her up and ask "how was she today", the response "uhhh yea uhhh great". That's it?? You were only with her for 8 hours you have absolutely nothing to say? Overall, I noticed the teachers did not care about the children to handle them in such a disgusting manner. You're in the WRONG FIELD LADIES. Like the other reviewer we gave lighthouse the benefit of the doubt and put off our worries as first time parent attachment. But, the more we watched, the more uncomfortable we got and there came a time where we just couldn't take anymore. We pulled our baby out as fast as we could and didn't bother to speak to the personnel as to why we were leaving even thought they sure went out of their way to find out. At that point nothing could resolve what I had seen and there would be nothing anyone could say to keep me there. We went to somewhere else, put our name on a wait list and prayed a spot would open up. Sure enough it did and all I can say is I am absolutely MIND BLOWN by the difference in care. - The children get to play peacefully during art time - The teachers HAVE ACTUAL CERTIFICATION (unlike lighthouse) - When I pick up my daughter and ask how was she today? Sometimes my husband kicks me for asking because we end up staying at the door with the teacher for another 10 minutes just having a conversation. - These people care. Point blank. Please do yourself a favor and before you settle here, just go look at other daycares and get a feel for the character. Not just that, find out how certified their teachers are. Are they straight out of highschool? Do they actually have any experience? Training? Good luck, I hope this helps. read more

We absolutely love everything about this daycare. The owners, the directors, the teachers...all amazing!!! We have been with them for a while and my daughter has flourished. They really and truly care about every child. They communicate so well with the parents and they put on some amazing events throughout the year. We have been to several different daycares between my son and my daughter and this is by far the BEST!!!! Love love love Lighthouse!!!! My daughter can't wait to get there every day! read more

I'm so happy to have found Children's Lighthouse Brushy Creek. My little one is so happy to go to school every day! My child is very particular in ways and the staff is very accommodating. The communication with the teachers and management is exactly what we were looking for. I also love how clean the school is always. They recently opened it back up allowing families in and it has been awesome being able to communicate with the teachers. Our son loves going to Childrens Lighthouse. The staff is friendly and caring. We receive updates throughout the day and he seems to enjoy all the fun and activities he has there. One of the caretakers Jolee has developed a special bond with our son and we love how much his face lights up when he gets to see her. read more

My family loves Children's Lighthouse at Brushy Creek. The teachers and staff are so nice and accommodating. They strive to meet the needs of every child. I also love how great they are at communicating to me anything having to do with my daughter or announcements. My daughter is learning and doing so many new things. I had some really bad experiences with my kids being bullied at Abacus and I had to take him out but thank God. I searched and finally found this place. This was a God send. They are amazing here when reasonably priced. My son is older (8) but he joined the summer program. I just wish my son could attend but he may not be able to as he will be 9 years old soon wish breaks my heart. I hope and pray I find another place like this for my older 9 year old son. read more
