As a mom my top priority is to keep my kids safe which is why I am so thankful to of found Children's Lighthouse for my children. My infant loves being at school and Ms. Chelsey and Ms. Holley take the absolute best care of her while im busy at work which helps ease my mind daily. My 5 year old loves Ms. Kelsey's class too. She makes all these amazing projects that help keep my kid engaged and she comes home daily and all she can talk about is how amazing school is. The directors are always in great communication with parents and send out weekly and monthly information and always have a huge smile on their faces and are always excited to greet the children.

    Enjoying Summer Bash!!!

Children's Lighthouse - Brushy Creek has been a wonderful and joyful experience. My family moved in 2021, and our five year old was having a tough time adjusting. The love, patience, and guidance she received from her teacher Miss Kelsey was truly life changing. Our little has grown tremendously emotionally, behaviorally, and cognitively. We are very blessed to have found Children's Lighthouse and their amazing teachers and staff! Advice for those scrolling through reviews and deciding on a school for their little: STOP your search, call for a tour, you have found THE school!

I am appalled by the level of care they are offering lately. This new teacher took over the 2/3 year old room and my son gets bit in the face by another kid. I asked what happened and they said my son started kicking a kid and then he got bit by another kid. I don't expect this level of care from a place I am paying 25k a year to watch my kids.

While my mat leave was NOT a vacation, neither is taking care of my little one, and doing the research to figure out if daycare, nanny or aupair fits the bill for your family is such a personal decision, not everything is one size fits all. Our research started when I was 6 months pregnant and I started touring several daycares in the area along with Montessori schools to just get an idea what the heck we were dealing with, securities instilled, and how daycare works. We went to tour 3 places, all of which I had first hand feedback from existing coworkers from all places. Primrose's director Ms. Artus shared we should even look up all the daycares on the Texas state site to check for infractions of which we found none. :) yay. Plus a short drive from our home makes it an easy pick up and drop off. First thing is, while costs are high, this is not something we were afraid of when we factored in the many amenities and learnings we expected from a daycare, the professionals that know how to take care of our LO better than we can with some tips and tricks, and also wanting something more than a daycare where your kiddo just goes through the motions day by day. It's only been 3 weeks, and I'm still on my maternity leave but as I re-enter the workforce next week, and leave my babe for realsies, I trust he's in the best of hands, I've dropped him off and popped in on occasion, and I've always seen him shown with love. So many other perks include, him socializing with other babies. They change him very frequently and can even examine his bowel movements and ask if he has breast milk since we do nurse our little one at home but give daycare formula since my pumping milk doesn't produce enough. I love how attentive and observant they are without us knowing what to share. He has his own crib, collage of people who love him and play area and I love how I get to see all the little ones grow and learn along side our babe. We are the first in our friends to have a baby so it's hard to get kiddos for him to engage with even as a newborn or even know how to do it all. Don't fret, the primrose staff is super helpful and SO good at what they do. I commend Ms. Mary of the young infants class and all the staff assistants that help. I love seeing our little one grow and learn so many things that I would struggle to even think of except for survive, go on stroller walks and naps. They've instilled structure, helped me understand as a first time parent what to look for, extra outfits, diaper cream, and all the things I never knew for taking care of my baby. It honestly feels like my own little village of caretakers that watch out for my LO, and this genuinely can really show how much that means to me. They've got so many happy kiddos that fill the halls and the community really seems great from our short time here, the calendar is filled with activities and field trips the different age groups take so you know what fun they're in for. Parents night out is a thing too, whoo hoo! Love it so far, and we hope our son thrives and grows well here for ages to come. I look forward to updating as he moves into the next classrooms so I can share our growth and experience but we love it here.

What makes this school stand out is the personal care and attention every child receives. It's not just about academics (which are strong), but about helping kids grow into confident, kind, and thoughtful individuals. At the center of it all is Ms. Kalika, the principal. She doesn't just lead--she sets the culture of the school in a very real and hands-on way. Her presence, values, and commitment to each child show up in everything the school does. One of the things we've especially appreciated is their participation in the Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN) program. It gives kids a unique level of exposure and global perspective at such a young age--something we found incredibly valuable and rare. Sapientia has played a big role in shaping our kids--not just academically, but in who they're becoming as people. If you're looking for a school where your child will be truly seen, challenged, and supported every step of the way, I'd highly recommend Sapientia Montessori.

We wanted a solution for childcare for our toddler twins at that point, and we'd observed some of our friends' children exit their early years in Montessori with the calm confidence we wanted for our kiddos. At Sapienta, our girls were welcomed with kind hearts. The guides (teachers) provided the resources to not only build a foundation for learning but a love for it as well. This fostered our girls' ability to read by age four. Their enjoyment of books grew exponentially over the next 10+ years, helping place them in the gifted program. Their achievements weren't limited to language arts. They excelled in every subject as they transferred to public education for middle school. The nine years they spent at Sapientia Montessori--three of them with the school director as lead teacher in the elementary class--gave them a springboard into academic achievement. Today, that investment in their Montessori education has resulted in grades, test scores, and critical thinking that are getting them accepted into the country's top engineering and aeronautical programs. We eventually made it off the wait list for that Austin school, but we chose to stay at Sapientia for the community and dedication to a child-centered approach to learning. If we had it to do again, we wouldn't change a thing.

In their reply, they referenced "previous ownership" -- THIS IMPLIES THEY ARE DISTANCING THEMSELVES FROM THE INCIDENT AND SUGGESTING IT OCCURRED BEFORE THEY TOOK OVER, which is completely false and misleading. so as of july 9,2025 there is another "new owner"?? --------- We've been with Primrose School at Vista Ridge for nearly two years with no prior issues. We always paid on time, had a good relationship with staff, and trusted them with our son's care. Unfortunately, that trust was completely broken by how they handled repeated biting incidents -- especially the most recent one. Over the past few months, my son was bitten multiple times. We accepted the incident reports and moved on, thinking these things happen. But every time I asked my son who bit him, it was always the same child. On May 6, my son did not attend school because he had a fever over the weekend and was still recovering. He returned on May 7, and that same day, he came home with a bite on his face, just under his eye. As a parent, that's terrifying. You don't get a bite like that unless a child grabs and restrains another -- this wasn't a minor mark, and it wasn't something that should ever happen under proper supervision. And yet, the child who bit him was allowed back in class the very next day like nothing happened. All I received was a vague checkbox-style report with no narrative, no real explanation, and no documentation of what steps were taken. When I told staff on May 8 that I didn't want the same child seated near my son, I was ignored. The very next day, I saw photos showing them seated right next to each other again. To make matters worse, the school's solution was to offer to transfer my son -- the victim -- to another class not even his age group, away from his friends. When I asked why the other child wasn't moved, I was told the other parents were "willing to work with the behavioral plan," while I was the one complaining -- so my child was the one they offered to relocate. I guess you can truly measure a childcare center not by how smoothly things go on a good day, but by how they handle a serious situation -- and whether they stand up for the child who was harmed. In this case, they failed completely. Since then, I've toured several other daycares in the area. Most charge around $305 per week, including meals. We were paying $370 per week at Primrose. I realize we were being overcharged for substandard supervision and no accountability. Parents, please be warned. If something goes wrong here, don't expect transparency, accountability, or any effort to truly protect your child.

The staff goes above and beyond when you need it, there's a constant positive energy in the place which is very welcoming... Not just to the kids and parents but between staff. The facilities are big and clean. Happy we could send our kids here. We had a gap in childcare and needed to get our son into something quickly (his was 16 months at the time). We wanted a Montessori program but those are tough to get into in Austin. Jenny made it work so that we could get into the babies class with our son and was very clear and professional about how she could not promise he would be able to go past 18 months into Toddler class because there were others in line. But, they made room for him over the next 2 months as they renovated and shuffled classes around, now he can stay at this great school we only thought we'd be guests at. It wouldn't have happened if not for the wonderfully positive attitude the staff here has, their attitude toward providing the best experience for you and your kid in sometimes a stressful situation, whether rushing in the morning or during a fussy day for your child. Would be happy to recommend Guidepost and the staff and teachers!
