A local favorite bar that has some great service and a clean environment! We ordered a couple of beer towers as well as the $2 tacos (that is their Tuesday special). Manager helped me out since I do not eat meat and substituted the meat for guacamole at no cost. They tend to get busy on the weekends. I give it 4 starts because I called in before and asked when happy hour ends and he told me it is all night. When I got there, they claimed it had ended at 7. I give this place ONE star because you have to give them something to post a review, otherwise, they'd get none! I really hate to say this, but if you're black? -just don't even waste your time coming here! They will give you the HARDEST time to get in. This was the THIRD time we were turned away at the door due to the "dress code". A dress code that changed each time we got there, a dress code we had been conscious of as we were getting dressed to go, due to past experience with this place. First of all, they aren't consistent with their "dress code" as we saw people who were not only dressed against their b.s policy, but people that were horribly dressed in general! Which in my opinion should be fine since it's JUST A BAR. This time, I was fed up with being turned away so I asked my friends inside to help me out and speak with the manager. I hate to pull the race card, im half black but my boyfriend is CLEARLY black and probably the only black person in sight. A group of poorly dressed guys in front of us are let in right away but before we can even get to the door the bouncers once again (and always, I mean ALWAYS) quickly jump at my boyfriend and say "well you're not getting in with those shoes.." "Your not getting in with that T-shirt" "can't wear those pants". wtf!? He has been well dressed each time, his pants don't sag, black jeans on, a basic T-shirt, sneakers etc.. This time it was his hoodie that was a problem. A HOODIE. that was actually under a really nice cardigan. Needless to say, this time we got in. The manager came to the door and I told him how this was the third time I've been here and have been turned away. We even called before we went to ask the dress code and it was different when we got to the door. I really didn't want to give this place my money but I was tired and didn't want to take the drive back home again. He let us in and warned us that his boss was really strict and if he saw us inside he'd flip. Right. Only he WAS THE BOSS. I guess he didn't want me making a scene outside, because that was next. They tried to charge us to get in at this point, but we had came for a party and were planning on buying food too. Our friends had a huge table so why should we also have to pay to get in when we came here well before the cover? When we finally got in, there guys with clothes on that looked like they just came off a construction site. There were also guys there in suits, some in jeans, some with sneakers, some with hoodies and hats, it looked as if there was no dress code at all. Actually, the only diversity I saw was within the way people dressed! What can I say about being inside? It was a normal bar. Nothing too special, not particularly nice but not run down. Just extremely ordinary, so why they cause such a commotion outside is BEYOND ME. Maybe instead of saying we aren't meeting the dress-code, they can just say we aren't meeting their targeted demographic. And maybe they should consider hanging a sign outside that says "FOR WHITES ONLY AND LIKE 3 BLACK PEOPLE AND 4 HISPANICS". Oh yeah, they can't because that's ILLEGAL. Most importantly, rather than focusing all their attention on the "dress code", this place should direct that energy to the fact that there are a ton of underage drinkers here. I know for a FACT at 3 girls in my vicinity were ages 19 & 20, downing shots, ordering mixed drinks, EFFORTLESSLY. Well it looks as if I'm going to have to add to the long list of negative reviews of this place. I'll admit, I hadn't read many of the review before coming. I was mainly motivated to go here because they participate in the Priority Club Dine rewards program and I needed a 2nd dine before July 15 to get 750 bonus points. So I figured, how bad could it be? Well, it's bad. We went for Sunday brunch. It started out fine enough. The décor is a bit dark for my taste, with the dark wallpaper all over, but you get used to it. I thought the brunch was a bit limited, with few selections. The only starch on the buffer was home fries, which I considered more of a breakfast starch. There was nothing else to go with the chicken marsala or fish or sausage and peppers. No rice or pasta or anything. That being said, what I had wasn't the worst food I had ever eaten. Cooked to order eggs was a major plus. After the meal is where it really gets bad. Now keep in mind this is a table for TWO. Not a table for EIGHT, where one would expect an automatic gratuity to be added to the bill. Also keep in mind that this is a brunch BUFFET. You know, where you get up and serve yourself the majority of your food. I was blown away when I received the bill which included an automatic gratuity of 20% on THE ENTIRE BILL. I have NEVER received an auto gratuity on a party of 2 and NEVER, EVER on a bill where I did most of the work myself. Really Central Park? Are you serious? All our server did was bring us a couple of drinks and you charge me an $8 tip for THAT? Then the final straw that broke the camel's back was when I ordered a glass of orange juice. It came out in a nice tall glass, which was a good sign, and not in the typical shot glass size glass dining establishments usually serve OJ in. I noticed a melted ice cube in the glass and I was a bit put off because I don't like ice in my OJ, but whatever. The first sip made me gag! It was as if the OJ had been heated up on the stove and they tried to put some ice in it to cool it down. However, the OJ was so warm that the ice must have melted instantly. I gave the glass to my husband and told him to take a sip. The look on his face was as if he had just swallowed the nastiest thing ever. I couldn't drink it. It was undrinkable. So the bottom line is, I will never return to this place. I do not appreciate an auto gratuity on a party of 2, and never for a buffet. Too bad, because I eat out frequently, but this place will not be on the list in the future. read more

This place is great for partying and dancing but what I would really like to point out is the security men. I have never been to a place where security actually cares about someone's sober ride home, and if you don't they will know and make sure you get there safe. I had an encounter with security officer Mario tonight and he really showed me that he cares about the people leaving the bar and that he truly wants the best outcome for people at the end of a long night. I recently moved to Roselle and decided to stop by Central Parks for drinks with my husband after picking him up from the train station, It was Friday at 5:30. We sat at the bar, there were probably 3 other parties sitting there as well...it took about five minutes for one of the two bartenders to even say hello to us and then their demeanor was less than friendly. We ordered some drinks and then asked for the menu to order food. We ordered the buffalo wings and Classic CP sliders. We saw them come out and be set on the end of the bar about 6 feet away from us. The bartender asked the food runner who the food items were for and she pointed to us, at which point she looked at us (remember we were sitting 6 feet away), then she ducks under the bar and walks away!!! What??? It would have taken her two seconds to grab the plates and set them in front of us. When she returns 5 minutes later she asks us if we ordered food as if we hadn't heard her earlier. The fries that came with the sliders were cold at this point, the wings and the sliders were pretty dry. We finished none of what we were served. I asked one of the bartenders for our check and it took her over five minutes to bring to us when she was clearly doing nothing else. I would like to say we will never return but seeing as how Roselle has limited options I think we might be reluctantly forced into it. Update: I forgot to mention when I ordered a water, it came out pink. Gross. Obviously they don't clean out their tap lines very frequently. read more

We always have a fun time at Central Park. The food is excellent. Punk rock calamari a must. Sushi is very good and fresh. Pizza is good, taco Tuesday is great. On Monday everything is 50% off. They always have some fun events. We went to a sangria tasting one night. Also bingo. Fun place for young and old. In the evening the club gets going, Mr. East. We also love their Valentine's day dinner and were there last night. Nice deal for a 3 course meal with the highest priced being 24.95 and a beautiful long stem rose. Drinks are always good. For a local place it makes you feel like you went to NY or somewhere. read more

1 Star is too kind! Very disappointed... The food was cold, the service was next to nill and the atmosphere was about as good as a soup kitchen for this Mother's Day Brunch. For regular patrons, this was a total downtick from what is normally a pleasant experience. I would not recommend this to my friends and I was completely embarrassed that this is where I brought my MOM for mother's day!!!! Oh did I mention there was zero room to walk and my dad kept getting hit by everyone who passed our table. It was an obvious grab for money with lack of care for the patron. Sad. I've been coming to Central since before they remodeled it. I've always loved it here. Never had bad service until tonight. The worst I ever received. Our waiter Torian was NOT good. I don't know if he's knew or what, but he kept disappearing for long periods of time. Several times we had to find him just to order. We ordered several drinks and he just left him on the table until we were about to leave. We had to find him so we could pay the bill. Plans had fallen through for a night down in Red Bank, so we decided to hit up one of our favorite local spots for some delicious burgers and a few drinks. Just not juicy enough to make it amazing. My wide for our normal standby Smokehouse burger with frizzled onion strings, cheddar, and bacon cooked mid rare. Decided to go with the sweet potato fries on this one because they're usually delicious and served with a warm maple dipping sauce and MAN! The fries were inedibly underdone, almost like they were baked half-way. WAS SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THEM! Too be they sucked! My wife's burger was much more on point but still overcooked. The waiter was cool and offered to take the food back no problem, but after 2 consecutive trips where their inconsistency was on display, and after tip paying nearly $50 for 2 burgers, a glass if wine, and a beer, I'm not really rushing to go back. read more

My bar of choice. There's not one type of patron, there's a decent craft beer selection, and always great food. During weekends there's a ballroom that plays EDM and another room for hip hop. It's not always packed which is nice but if you want a party like atmosphere on holidays the place never disappoints. The neighborhood isn't too far away either which is great and it's the type of place where people will remember you if you make minimal effort to try to leave an impression. This local bar is okay as a last resort spot to go to and if your a linden native, especially in sunny side area it's good walking distance. However, cover charges are a scam. They will advertise all over social media that the cover fee is free before a certain time but once you get at the door 30 minutes or even5 minutes before the deadline they will still charge you a fee saying management changed the time. But there is no change stated online. They have done this countless times. I haven't eaten at this bar but drinks are decent and bartenders are pretty good. read more

It's a good place to watch the football games but be aware, they have a really ridiculous dress code here for it being a little hole in the wall sports bar, it's kind of ridiculous, they act like they are a club in manhattan with their dress code.
