    The bar - spacious

This spot is nostalgic for me... over 20 years ago my now wife and I had many dates here before marriage. But many renovations and updates have modernized this restaurant but the food remains as delicious as ever!! Great service and a vineyard atmosphere make this spot a great date night dinner spot. With generous portions and tasty flavors, this menu will never disappoint. Everyone tonight was quite energized at the bar and having fun and still there are spaces for quieter and more intimate dining as well. Budget friendly and a diverse menu make this place ideal for families and for date nights.

    Dried-up and burnt cheese

I must be a glutton for punishment. I keep giving this place a chance and I get nothing but disappointment. I just picked up a pizza pie from here. They said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I got there in 10 minutes. Got the pie home, opened the box and saw a pizza that was not fresh. The cheese and tomato sauce had completely dried out as evidenced by its hard surface. The edges of the crust was stale and hard as wood (it tasted like wood, too). The bottom of the crust was burnt in section as indicated by its blackened appearance. My wife and I tried to eat it but gave up after barely 1 slice. It appeared that this was an old pie that was left out and they sold it anyway. It should have been thrown out. This happened before but I gave them the benefit of the doubt because sometimes the pies are good. But this time, it wasn't. I think, if you want a good pie, don't do pick-up or delivery from there. YOU MUST GO THERE, ORDER AND EAT IT THERE. This is the only assurance that the pie will be FRESH out of the oven. However, I'm done and will not be returning.

A great spot to go out with friends for a casual dinner, some drinks and watching a game in the bar area. Food is nothing fancy, but still good for pizza and apps. Some of my favorites are the Old World Pizza (try with vodka sauce!) and the disco fries appetizer! Service can be a bit slow and hard to track someone down, but always very nice.

After missing the fanwood location after how many years, I decided to take a trip to Roselle for pickup. Everyone was so friendly. Pizza was hot and was good as I recall. The pizza is thin crust which is a nice change of pace ,can eat more! The chicken Philly style for $15+ with no fries and half a container of coleslaw is ridiculous. The chief was good, two slices, there's about four pieces of pepper and it's served with American cheese. This is not $15 worth of food. There is zero menu to be had online with prices which is aggravating. Hence, posting a menu. 3.5% charge for credit cards.

The sun tavern is a nice local bar Resturant. Nothing spectacular about the place but it does have nice thin crust pizza pies. Little on the pricey side but the pizza was. Pretty good. And good left over as well. Especially when you hear it up in a fry pan on a low Med heat and let the bottom crisp up. Had a bacon pie and a pepperoni pie. The bacon was cooked through and gave you a nice Smokey bacon flavor. The pepperoni was ur traditional pepperoni pizza. The crust was nice and crispy. Also got the wings. They were ok I would have like them a little more crispier. And the sauce was on the sweeter side I didn't like the medium sauce. I have only been there just this once so I can't comment on the other stuff. Just reviewing the pizza and wings.

People seem to be very critical. This is a bar with really great thin bar pies. The beer is always cold and the staff is friendly.

In fact, this time it looks to be a literal home. We stopped by last night to watch my beloved Gonzaga Bulldogs end their tournament run against Purdue. I could go into quite a bit of detail about some very shady calls in the paint and what I think should have been a taunting foul on Purdue's future proctologist Fletcher Loyer, but I digress. As soon as I walked in, I could tell I was going to like it. Prior years have been marred by loud sports bar atmospheres where you have to battle tooth and nail to convince someone to change the channel to something that isn't a mediocre NYC-area sports team (I say this as a Mets fan as well). Liberty was significantly quieter, definitely had an older crowd but also had numerous TVs throughout. The best of all worlds. I walked maybe 10 feet from the entrance, asked the bartender if she could switch the TV to the Zags on TBS, and that was that. Aside from a weird moment in the second half when the TV mysteriously changed to ESPN for a few minutes (we never confirmed the culprit), we had primo viewing of the game. Somehow we also managed to sit down next to a couple whose son was currently at Purdue. What a world. Vibe is everything with a place like this. I did a mild double-take when I realized the bar was located in a literal residential neighborhood in what may be someone's actual house (or at least upstairs). There's a parking lot on the side that had plenty of spots, and overall this was one of the most conveniently located establishments I've ever been to - it's about 30 seconds from Route 78 both ways. Initially I felt bad for the neighbors, but as bars go this is not exactly one that's going to be hosting raucous throwdowns outside or anything. You may actually be able to go to bed at 9pm living next door, which is my personal dream. The interior has a lot of tchotchkes behind the bar, and is surprisingly comfortable/spacious. The game started a little after 7:30pm on a Friday, but there were seats available right in front of the TVs and most of the patrons seemed to be in the back area playing pool. It did get a little more crowded throughout the game, but never to a point where it felt claustrophobic. The clientele demo skewed all over the place - several older codgers looked like they'd been rejected from Rock of Love Charm School (I thought one in particular was a dead ringer for Poison's CC DeVille), but there was also a few young men roaming around and middle-aged couples/singles throughout the establishment as well. Pretty much anyone who would theoretically come into a bar, did. We had a good bartender, who not only accommodated my TV request, but was friendly and accessible throughout our stay. I was in a sweet palate mood, and she offered to make a Hawaiian Volcano, apparently a drink pilfered from her days at TGI Friday's years ago. It's not something I'd necessarily get on a regular basis, but it definitely brought me back to my early legal drinking years for sure. I could taste some Malibu and juice, and sipped them throughout the game. We also got mozzy sticks and a pepperoni bar pie. Both were really decent for what they were, especially the mozzy sticks, which were fried perfectly. I thought the pizza tasted like a giant Bagel Bite, which is not an insult. But let's be clear - this is a dive bar, so it's not like you're wandering into the kitchen and stumbling across Jeremy Allen White from The Bear. You want something fairly tasty to munch on, and we got it. Strong recommend. I think expectations for a dive bar should be pretty simple - comfortable and pleasant. This was certainly that, minus the March Madness heartbreak.

Great dive bar. Food is just meh, but I mange my expectations. I was not expect anything great…read more Either way what I got was just what I wanted and expected.

The place is small with a bar that seats a dozen or so people and some tables against the wall. Also another small dining room that looks like it was added on to the building at some point. Most patrons at the bar seemed to be regulars but everyone was friendly and engaging. The bartender was efficient and very friendly, she made an excellent old fashion for me! We'll be back!

This could be a personal thing, but would recommended speeding this game up. The food was decent! I ordered the sausage rigatoni, it was good and tasty however did not leave me full and I felt the need to order more food after. I got a side of fries after the initial meal and it was a good amount, fries were also tasty just needed to add my own salt. I also ordered a Diet Coke and it did not taste good, it tasted very syrupy? I'm not sure if it was actually Diet Coke because on the menu I believe it says Diet Cola so this could 100% be on me for not seeing that but I would have liked to be notified if it wasn't actually Diet Coke. The service was very good and I won't complain too much since our group took up a table for a decent amount of time, however I never got a refill so not sure if they have free refills or if our server just did not notice. Overall, this is a decent place, it's nothing spectacular but is definitely a place where everyone has something to eat that is enjoyable and a fun environment. I would go back perhaps to bring my parents. Good place for picky eaters.

My old phone was taking blurry pics from far away so I wasn't able to capture it, but think very cozy, fireplace with candles glowing from within, and little alcoves in the wall for candle clusters. It was perfectly elevated while still being casual and approachable. When we came there was a Mac and cheese special with pulled bbq pork on top. I knew we had to get that because it is right up my husbands alley. It did not disappoint, my husband was tempted to order some to take home! The pasta was super creamy and cheesy, mixed with the roasted pulled smoky bbq pork on top, it was the ultimate comfort food for the cold rainy day we were having. For my meal I got the Grilled Cheese which is more of an elevated "grown up" grilled cheese. It had cheese, thin apple slices, fig jam and bacon. The flavors were great, I only wish there was a little more cheese or a little less jam to balance the sweet and savory a little more, because for me it was a touch too sweet. The sourdough it was made with was delicious and fresh, I also appreciate that they don't seem to soak their grilled cheese in oil like a lot of places do (butter or nothing, please!!) My husband ordered the burger which he really enjoyed but nothing was going to top the pulled pork Mac and cheese for him. They should consider adding it to the regular menu! He originally wanted the duck sandwich but it was unavailable on this day. All in all it was a cozy afternoon together. Our waitress was very friendly and made sure to check on us without ever being too overbearing.
