This place charged me 600 dollars for an Hour of so called " diagnostic testing" along with 4 plugs for a 2019 Nissan Sentra . The car barely started and then left me stranded . Their GM " Michael" stated that they test drive every vehicle but failed to do his job with his techs and failed the business by letting a customer leave the parking lot with a vehicle that' wasn't corrected . Stay away from this place if you value yourself , vehicle and humanity . Be very careful. Girl at front desk must be on commission because she constantly upsells unsuspecting customers with services they don't need to inflate the bill. Plus she's probably the rudest person any business could ever put out to wait on customers. Went there 5 days ago on Thursday, and had an oil change. I later parked my car in my driveway. The day had been rainy, but I used my garden hose to wash off some pebbles in my driveway in order to seal coat it the next day when the weather would be better. I noticed an oily rainbow like splotch where I had parked in the driveway and hosed that off as well. The next day I came and went doing errands with my car and soon noticed several splotch's of oil in the driveway. The next day showed even more oil spots. On Sunday as I had gone by to get my car washed (undercarriage included), I noticed Central Park Garage was open. So I stopped by and told the person about the oily driveway and the situation. They took it in the bay, looked at it, then said that the oil pan was fine but they did notice a slight trace of oil near the main engine gasket. Ok fine, brought the car home and placed cardboard under it. The next day still had no oil spots. Miraculously the problem is gone. I remembered that I watched her go down into the bay to get a look, so I know that she had checked the undercarriage as well. My conclusion is that the office attendant was less than honest with me. I'm not certain that I will ever return since I don't like dealing with dishonest people and my driveway is a oily splotchy mess. read more

I've had work done here in the past and figured that they gave me a good price, so when it came time to replace the left rear wheel bearing on my 2013 Nissan Sentra, Central Park Garage is the place I went. To give a little back story, a few years ago, I needed a right-side rear wheel bearing for the same vehicle, and had picked up the OEM part from a Nissan dealership for $270. I met with Alicia, the very nice receptionist, and JR, the service advisor. After seeing the quote of $481.42 for a single wheel bearing (pictured below), I questioned to JR if he thought the cost of the part seemed a little high, considering it wasn't even an OEM part. He shrugged it off, said it wasn't OEM but it was the only version that NAPA sold, and that it was the price NAPA provided them. Knowing for safety reasons that it had to be done, I told him to go ahead and order the part, and they agreed to fit me in the next day for installation. Immediately after I left, something didn't feel right. I decided to call Port City Nissan to see what they would quote for the part and installation. Even with the OEM part and installation, they quoted $378. They also offered a Value Advantage option for the wheel bearing for $110, which I opted for, bringing the total to $230 after installation, or literally less than half the cost of Central Park. Needless to say, I had Port City order the part was able to get in the next day. I understand that Central Park has to order the part and have it shipped, so there might be a slight markup over a dealership, but really?! Twice the price?? After I brought it into the dealership to have it serviced, I called NAPA in Somersworth for kicks and giggles to see if I were to walk into the store and purchase the same exact part which Central Park Garage was about to charge me $305 for, how much it would cost. The answer? $195. I asked if they could provide insight into why CPG said the part cost $110 more than what NAPA charged, and they said that any mechanic could charge any amount for the part that they wanted, and that it's up to the consumer to shop around to make sure they get a good deal. Suffice it to say that I'm incredibly glad I decided to shop around, as I ended up paying $230 vs. $481. I'm not saying the quality of work here is poor, because it's fine. But for JR to tell me that the high quote was due to what NAPA charged for the part, for me to find out otherwise? That was infuriating. I felt taken advantage of, which is not an uncommon position for a young female such as myself to be in. I would be a lot more understanding of a price differential of $50. But more than twice the price?? I'm not saying I'll never come back here. If the price is right, there's a chance. But if they continue to drastically overcharge, which I will now pay attention to going forward, it isn't very likely. Owner take note. read more

After years, my headlights went downhill. I couldn't see crap driving at night! I brought the car in to their sister garage (papa bear) next door who took their time diagnosing the real issue - the plastic in front of my headlights looked like wax paper! Within a couple days, I got an appt at Central Park Garage and they did a fabulous job with the headlight restoration for a very fair price. I understand people don't always like paying for car needs, but your life depends on the safety of your car so you want it done right. For high quality work that is done correctly - this is the place to go. (Also - I brought my laptop, hooked up to their internet and was able to pound out some work while they worked on my car!) If there's a below ZERO star I will give this place a negative ZERO!!!!! 1 star is too much for a place like this!! They're money hunger, they will do anything to take your money. They will tell you to repair unnecessary things to your car. My mom went there just wanted to get a car inspection that would probably cost her $60 Max (they charge$39.99). She ended up paying $114 because they said there's some bullsh*t happened with the sensor and they said they have to spent 40 minutes to run some bullsh*t test to find out why. And turn out it was only one of the fuse that was off and the fuse cost is LESS then $1. Even I could change it myself. They have been in business for a long time this kind a problem doesn't happen for the first time. If they weren't trying to make money out of her, before they run some bulls*t test for 40 minutes they will at least try to change the fuse. It's very common and everyone knows if there's something doesn't work inside your car the first thing you do is to change change the damn fuse!!!!!! This is not it, I will make a complaint to BBB (BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU) too! Ps. I took my car there for a state inspection. It failed and needed a lower control arm. they quoted me $608 to install a $130 part. I ended up having it installed elsewhere. They charged me for the inspection and then an additional fee to come back and have it inspected for the failed item. About a week after my first visit I noticed my car was running really hot with the AC on and also the AC just wasn't working well. I took it to another shop and they found the AC fan was unplugged. The tech at the second garage told me it's not possible for it to come unplugged on its own. I can't say with certainty that Central Park did that but it was enough to make me question their business practice. I will not be returning. If you go there beware. read more

Central Park Garage sold my friend a starter for $300.00 that he never needed as the very same problem occurred within a month. We found that the wire connections and battery connections were never cleaned which proves that they do shoddy workmanship. I would never take my vehicle there for any repairs, PERIOD! read more

(I got a second opinion at another garage and had the work done there.) Wannabe con artists. The owner presses his staff to raise revenue, the staff wants to keep their jobs so you end up with them trying to charge $6,500.00 for parts that are less than $600.00 retail. I had my car inspected and the oil changed here once, and it was far more expensive than any garage around. $40 for the oil change, and another $40 for the inspection, when most places are around $25-$30 for each. They also pulled the classic trick of taking out my air filters to show me that they needed to be replaced, which I promptly told them to put back. read more

Honesty. Trust. Integrity. This is the tag line of this company who have boned me over time and again. They have NO integrity, their work can't be trusted. In addition to another issue last year I won't bother with, most recently I brought my son's car in for an inspection. It passed everything but emissions so we did $850+ work to fix it. The engine light was still on for the ONE CODE which they said would take a while to clear and suggested he drive it a while and come back for his sticker when it shut off. The night he got the car back he was driving home from work when the hood popped open and bent all the way backwards. No clue how he was able to get the car to the side of the road without getting into an accident. The garage was took full responsibility that they were negligent in closing it properly and they replaced the hood at no charge. Well DUH they could have killed him! Engine light still on and they said continue to drive it and come back for the sticker. A month later still engine light is on so brought it back and they tell me there are new issues and have to remove his gas tank and replace lines, they were wrong about the prior code. $858 wrong code and they are asking me for more money! I said I wanted them to credit me back for what was unnecessarily done prior. Bill literally laughed at me. More than once. I reminded him how they could have caused a horrible accident due to their negligence amd still stuck with them as a customer, and he said yeah ok if you want to take that out on me go ahead. I have been a long time loyal customer not only with my son's car but mine and my wife's and my daughter. Oh I should also mention my daughter had work done there and had lost her AAA card. She had the number just not the card. They refused to even call it in to check the validity to save her a few bucks. I have an 11 year old SUV that needed over a thousand dollars in work. Initially, I had my car looked at by a dealership (where we have our new car serviced) and knew that the quoted hefty price tag reflected typical dealership labor rates. Unfortunately, I'm fairly new to the area and didn't have a mechanic I used and trusted. I went online and started researching shops in the area and found that "CPG" had outstanding reviews. I then decided to request an estimate from a "national vendor" (if you will) and also called CPG. Upon calling CPG, Greg answered my call. He was extremely pleasant and professional and had no hesitation in providing me an estimate - knowing I was not a customer. He was also aware that I was likely shopping around - but never once treated me any different than he would a regular customer. Greg has excellent listening skills and was very informative - but straight to the point. He quickly followed up with a formal estimate, via email. His turnaround time and ongoing communication via phone and email was extremely appreciated. Greg was also very informative about their partnership with Napa - and told me how I could quickly apply for free financing. (A huge bonus to someone who had to shelf out so much money.) Once my decision was made to do business with CPG (their pricing is very competitive and fair), Greg quickly scheduled me an appointment on the day requested. Upon arrival to the shop, my initial impression was that they run a clean, well organized shop, and Greg was extremely pleasant to speak with. He is polite and did not treat me like I was ignorant about what I needed. Throughout the day, Greg kept me well informed on the progress of my repairs and the work was completed promptly. Upon picking up my car, Greg had assured that all the financing details had been taken care of before my arrival. He printed out my paperwork/receipt from the financing - and quickly handed me my keys. He told me that if I had any questions or concerns to not hesitate in reaching out.
