I've been a customer of TW for over 30 years, so I popped on in. They had a pretty good price for the two tires I needed, but being a non-profit, I inquired if they could do even better. The certainly did and were extremely helpful about it. Literally, everything about the interaction was one of the most positive experiences I have had at the retail level in ages. I was greeted at the door by a man installing tires. He was friendly and welcoming. Inside at the counter, more of the same (a second man), something that doesn't always happen in the world of automotive parts/service. Beyond that, he set up our non-profit in his system so we could continue to receive those benefits on future purchases. The waiting room was clean, comfortable, and had a bathroom available (also clean). The only other customer while I was there, a middle-aged woman, had repairs done to her tire which were explained clearly and completely by the first employee who had greeted me. She had questions that made it apparent she was not fully savvy about cars/tires. He was very patient and thorough in his explanation did so without talking down to her (another thing that is fairly UNcommon in this business). TW has always treated me right in terms of price, but the service at the Somersworth location is far-and-away the best I have seen at any business of this type. Do not hesitate!

They did what appeared to be a good enough job (although the attendant couldn't drive my manual and they finally got a different attendant after they stalled it half a dozen times while I watched in horror). Fast forward 2 years. I happened to be sitting on the ground and could see under my car and noticed one of the tires tread patterns didn't match the others. Upon further inspection, they had installed one of my tires backwards. I had done 10k on the tire at that point. I took the car back and was waited upon by a very unkempt dismissive and rude individual. He not once apologized. He made it sound like it was my fault and how could I not notice for 2 years and that they were doing me a favor fixing it. The tech that did the swap was equally sketchy and rude to my face. They scratched my rim in the process. I've used this business half a dozen times dating back to late 90's. The place is sketchy, deteriorating and I recommend everyone go elsewhere. It's clear they don't care about the customer or the business.

NOT SO FAST OLD MAN! The good folks at Sullivan told me the tire couldn't be repaired because the screw was too close to the sidewall. What they didn't know is that I knew exactly where the screw was. It was well within the tread. But they REALLY wanted to help with my problem, and offered to sell me one tire, for nearly $400. Installed I assume, or maybe not. So, I took my leak elsewhere. Got it repaired for $40 and made a friend. The man has been in the tire business for decades, and just shook his head when I told him the story. Here's the thing: I never begrudge a man a day's pay, but do not try to take advantage of me. I'm too old and I worked too f***ing hard for my pension to get porked because the rubber merchants had a slow day. Sullivan Tire will reply, bleating their side of the story. And that's fine. I got in that afternoon with no issues. They took the offending tire off and assessed the whole situation to find that they could patch it from the inside. Took about 20 minutes and the tire seems to be as good as new. It's been two weeks with no issues whatsoever. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and quick to help.

So EVERYTHING except for fluids was in the "green" with my car at the dealership. I went back to this place (that I'm reviewing now) to ask them about a refund as I would have been out $900 with these people for a zero issue if I hadn't gone for a second opinion. And since having to get a second opinion and passing, I felt I was given shady service by this place in review. I was also put out as I had to borrow my parents car for a trip I was about to take because, at the time, I did not feel comfortable driving my car with the issue it was failed for. When asking for a refund, I was not only questioned by the owner about why I even went for a second opinion but was also informed by another employee there that they remembered my car and that they fought with the person inspecting my car because there was no issue. Ultimately, the inspector won that battle thus failing my car and quoting me $900. The OWNER questioned my car "passing" somewhere else, wanting to see the new sticker with his own eyes like I was lying about it. I was told it's at the discretion of the person inspecting to determine if the car is passable or not and I would have accepted that excuse if any part of my car landed in the yellow. But seeing as how everything was green, I could not accept that as an excuse for failing my car. I got my refund but questioned to them "who else is this happening to" because I'll bet not many go for a second opinion somewhere else dishing out money they don't need to dish out to get their cars fixed when maybe there isn't even something needing to be fixed. So I say to anyone going to this place of business for a car inspection ... Be weary of the service they provide and get a second opinion if you feel something is shady because it most likely is. Be careful who you do business with. I won't be trusting this facility with any of my other vehicles in the future and I won't be sending anyone I know their way. It's too bad too...
