We reserved our truck (cargo van in this case) two days prior to needing it. We were supposed to drive two and a half hours to pick up the vehicle near Des Moines and then I would drive it back to Omaha while my wife drove our Jeep back. When we arrived, confirmation number in hand we were told that there were NO cargo vans or small box trucks in Des Moines because they had all been leased to Amazon for the months of November and December. No one had any idea why the booking computer hadn't known that, nor could they tell us why we were not informed before we made the run. The desk clerk's best idea was "look for a competing company." No luck. We put what small boxes we could into the Jeep and drove back home, after which I called the customer service number and were not helped at all, just a few platitudes and some simpering about valuing our business. My suggestion: If you absolutely HAVE to use Budget Trucks, be sure to call the morning of your trip to see if they actually have something to rent. They obviously don't care if you are confirmed or not.

Took 2 hours to move reservation. Call customer service 2 hour wait for someone who can make decision. I reserve and pay for truck for 2 days, Budget changes it to one day and then charges me for an extra day. Then after dozens of calls refuses to fix their mistake. Also truck was a POC.

Josh the marketing manager was in the shop and he took the time to show me their large selection of trailers. Impressive inventory of dump, car, and utility as well as enclosed trailers on the lot. If you need a new trailer, or just need one for a day or a week, these guys have one to suit your needs. They also carry some of the finest riding zero turn mowers I have ever seen.

I…read moremade a reservation a week and a half in advance, on the day of my move to Chicago I go to pick up my truck.. the guy says, 'well I tried calling you two times and sent an email, each time I called it was busy.' I didn't receive any notice and I have a cellular phone there is no reason it would give a busy signal.. unless he was calling from his tin can phone. So I had to scramble and luckily I found a truck at U-Haul on Bruns lane.. I don't think I'll move with budget ever again. Get your tin can phone checked out, and don't lie to customers.

I rented a budget truck in the Chicagoland area and we started out our journey realizing that one of the headlights was out so I tried looking up Budget rentals along our route that could possibly help us. I came to this location unannounced and they dropped everything to help! While Ryan changed out my taillight, Greg inspected my truck and found out that the other location didn't check the registration and insurance which was out of date. He printed new ones for me and inspected the rest of the vehicle. I appreciated how kind they both were and went above and beyond to help me. Unfortunately they only offer small pods, so it would entail ordering multiple pods to move an entire house. They don't offer medium or large pods like other companies do. Some are made of wood and others are metal. There's really no way of knowing in advance.
