The sushi buffet area was consistently filled, but I don't recommend the nigiri sushi. The fish was very Dry as you might have heard, which should NEVER be the case for raw sushi! Especially nigiri sushi! Terrible texture in the mouth... I'm surprised I didn't get food poisoning. the sushi cones were pretty good, the flavor definitely made a good impression. The fried rolls were great too, jam packed with flavor. Not bad for a fried food. The sashimi was excellent with a good texture and color. Yeah, I don't know why the fish was so dry on the actual sushi... The only other problem with the place was their hibachi option... The hibachi options were okay. The whole way it works is you would pick ingredients from metal tins and give the hibachi chef your plate. you could grab several veggies, starches, and seafood from the bowl tins, and plenty of meats. The noodles were just about the only thing that I thoroughly enjoyed; the steak was overcooked and too tough to have any flavor. The big turn off for me is that the hibachi chef was in the back corner on his phone half of the time the food was cooking. The only reason he actually paid attention to the food that was just sitting there being roasted on a (if I may mention that the grill that the food was cooking on was uneven and obviously hadn't been cleaned in easily a couple days) griddle was to flip it and yet again, leave it unattended. Not the hibachi experience I've been looking for. Bottom line: good fried sushi and sashimi! Cones were good, noodles slapped. AVOID THE NIGIRI SUSHI.

Food: 5/5 (for buffet experience) Service: 5/5…read moreAmbiance: 3.5/5 I visited this location in 2021 with my family when it was under previous ownership. The 2021 visit food was below average and service wasn't much to speak of. I live nearby and have been wanting to visit here and try the lunch buffet. I was not disappointed at all. I don't think I've eaten at a Chinese lunch buffet in the BR area that I really enjoyed. I brought my son and he is picky and he enjoyed just about everything he tried. We sampled a good variety. Side note: I've eaten at the other place at Sherwood & Coursey, just around the corner and my visit was once with no desire to return. Food: A really good variety to choose from on the buffet. They buffet is from 11am - 4pm, it's not an all day buffet. The variety they have is definitely quality over quantity. Very impressed with price of $12.99 and the quality of food. Egg roll was good, House Made Roll was excellent! The crab Rangoon was not lacking, it had ample amount of cream cheese, no skimping there. Honey Chicken was good, Sesame Chicken was excellent, had a little spice to the sweetness too. Hunan pork was excellent, beef and broccoli was the only item that was average to me. Sweet & sour chicken, friend rice, lo mein, was very good. No General Tso's or Mandarin Chicken on the buffet. Unsure if they take any requests for specific items to be placed on buffet. Service: I believe the owner was the one that greeted us and sat us at our table. Very nice, attentive, and had good small talk about FIFA World Cup. He immediately took our drink order and drinks were at our table before we returned. Ambiance: Place had a decemt ambiance to it. Very clean. I do remember the old Hunan's ambiance was cool because of the old celebrity photos on the wall that had a good amount of LSU stars. This definitely doesn't have that, but I wish it did resemble some of that, maybe one day it will. The important aspect is the great quality of the food, because I definitely wasn't there for the decor. To my surprise this place wasn't jam packed. I was nervous when I walked in because not many patrons inside, but when we left there was about 5 more tables filled. This place should be more packed.

The inside was clean, spacious, and wasn't busy, which was nice bec we weren't fighting swarms of people like at a typical buffet. I tried a little sample of just about everything. I loved how the food was hot and I'd say the chicken dishes were my favorite. I was pleased with the price, it was a little over $30 for 2 adults, which I felt was good for an AYCE buffet on the weekend. Overall, I'd recommend Hunan if you're in the mood for a fair priced delicious AYCE Chinese buffet!

That alone tells you everything you need to know about the cleanliness of this place. If there are roaches openly crawling around the utensils, imagine what's happening in the kitchen where customers can't see. It completely killed my appetite and made me question the safety of all the food being served. A buffet should be held to very high sanitation standards, and clearly this place is failing miserably. Seeing insects around food and serving items is unacceptable and frankly a health concern. Until management gets serious about pest control and basic hygiene, I would strongly recommend people avoid eating here. No one should have to worry about roaches when they're trying to eat a meal.

Then I remembered this Indian restaurant that I tried before, even though my husband has not. I visited this place back when it was still smaller and had not expanded yet. I still remember the food being delicious so I was really excited to come back. We went around lunch time and it was not too busy. We decided to do the buffet since I knew they added it after the expansion, but I never got a chance to return until now. The buffet was 19.99 per person. I am not sure if that was a holiday price or the regular price. The food was amazing and full of flavor. I really enjoyed the mushroom masala and the butter chicken. Their goat curry was also very good, the meat did not have any strange taste or smell. I do not usually like goat so I was hesitant, but this one surprised me and I actually liked it. The service was super nice and attentive. The server noticed we did not have naan because they were out at the moment, and when the fresh batch came out he brought it to our table right away. He talked to every table and made sure everyone was doing good, and he also listened to feedback. Everything was great, but me and my husband both felt that having a few more food options would make the buffet even better. The selection was still on the smaller side, although I do understand Indian food can be more expensive and time consuming to prepare. I do wish they had samosas and garlic naan. The regular naan is good but garlic naan always hits different. If you do not want buffet you can also order plates instead. After about thirty minutes I noticed a lot more people started coming in, which means this place is well loved and popular. Overall it was a good experience. The price is a little high for the amount of selection, but the food quality is top tier so it still feels worth dining in. We would definitely come back again

Golden Corral Buffet & Grill Review | Baton Rouge, La…read more 3 out of 5 Stars If you're in the Baton Rouge area and looking for an early morning buffet option, Golden Corral Buffet & Grill definitely gets points for convenience -- doors open bright and early at 8 AM, which is rare for buffet spots. The location is easy to access, and the staff was friendly, which always sets a welcoming tone when you walk in. As for the food, it was just okay -- not bad, but definitely room for improvement. The price was about average for buffet dining, which makes it a decent stop if you're not trying to break the bank. However, there were some clear downsides. The food selection felt smaller compared to other Golden Corral locations, which was a bit disappointing if you're expecting that "endless options" vibe. Some dishes were overly salty, and one major red flag -- dirty plates. Cleanliness matters a lot, especially at a buffet, and this definitely took away from the overall experience. Overall, this Baton Rouge Golden Corral lands at 3 out of 5 stars. It's convenient and friendly, but it needs more attention to food variety, seasoning balance, and cleanliness to truly stand out. 13606 Millerville Greens Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70816 (225) 960-1135 Check us out Tik tok @we_stayed_there, online: www.westayedthere.com, YouTube @westayedthere

Everything appeared and tasted like it was freshly prepared by staff who know how to cook. The enormous food selection this day included 2 soups, white and yellow queso's, a Mexican stew, pork tamales, chimichangas, chicken and pork fajitas, enchiladas, flautas, quesadillas, a taco bar, plantains, salads, fruit and several desserts including sopapillas. My favorite selection had to be the pork carnitas. They were seasoned, juicy and overall delicious. In my opinion, the overall variety is actually one of the establishments greatest strengths. Chips and salsa are free and house-made flour tortillas are available upon request. They even offer you a free cup of ice cream when bringing the check. Located on Siegen Lane, it offers a broad selection of Mexican and Latin American dishes, with the buffet supplemented by an à-la-carte menu.
