Where are my shrimp? Didn't order steak.
    Tracy Z.

After driving in afternoon traffic to Gonzales from Baton Rouge to pickup dinner for my son's birthday on a weekday, we ordered 103.00 worth of food for pickup. We ordered two shrimp and chicken hibachi dinners and one steak and shrimp. The two shrimp and chicken dinners were wrong-- we received two shrimp and the rest steak. The order was completely incorrect. It ruined our birthday celebration. After traveling in afternoon traffic only to sit down to 103.00 of wrong food. We who ordered SHRIMP AND CHICKEN DON't EAT RED MEAT. So now what? We picked out the red meat and ate part of a meal. It was gross. I paid $103.00 for bad service. Disappointing reveal of our dinner and a frustrating drive to get this meal. Used to be one of our favorite places. And get someone who will speak up on the phone. I told the girl I couldn't hear her twice. 4/11/2024

Nothing exciting to say. It was an average restaurant and I have definitely had better. I thought the waitress was a little rude we had only been sitting 15 minutes and she was asking about bringing the check. They weren't really busy so I don't know what the rush was. The food was ok. I had the veggie soup, the veggie spring roll and the avocado roll and like I said there was nothing to get excited about. It's definitely not one of my top 20 in 2020 to return too.

If I could give this place 000 I would! First, let me say that we used to love this place. The last time we ate here it was ok. Not great but okay. It's now Sunday after thanksgiving and we are craving something different. So we ordered take out. 2 Hawaiian rolls and LSU roll and a shrimp tempura roll and hibachi fried rice with beef. ALL of the rolls were not made with fresh ingredients. The shrimp was rubbery and the crawfish had a foul smell. The Hawaiian rolls are supposed to have cream cheese and avocado. It had little bits. The rice was hard and had no flavor and no veggies. The beef was chewy and gray in color. I called the restaurant and the girl that answered told me they didn't have a manager there(which is probably why food was sent out like that) and didn't even apologize. They used to have great management. I will never eat here again. Would not recommend anyone else to eat here. Seafood can be dangerous served bad.

Chicken teriyaki box combo - lotsa food there

Clean, quiet, spacious dining room for a nice relaxing meal. Service was a bit slow for the items we ordered from the kitchen, but the staff was very friendly. Food was pretty standard pop-up sushi bar fare. Nothing bad, but much the same as every other place in town. Clear soup, miso soup, and "salad" (a bowl of lettuce) with ginger dressing- all the same as you can get everywhere else (but that's not a bad thing). The box combo was pretty big with lots of food. Menu says it comes with shrimp tempura, but it actually has shrimp and vegetable tempura (more than you'd expect). With the cali roll, eel sushi, chicken teriyaki, and fried rice, there was enough for lunch tomorrow, too. The beef negimaki (thin sliced beef rolled around scallion) was good, but there was too much scallion that gave it an odd texture - but it tasted okay. The teriyaki and onions it was served with, and the noodles were pretty good. Overall, an average (filling) meal in a clean place. You could do a lot worse.

La cucaracha! In my daughters food.

Food isn't that great. We had the chicken and steak hibachi meals and weren't impressed at all, especially for over $50 of food.

We met the owner, Shelly, who is originally from China, and she was incredibly warm and welcoming. What really surprised us was that they served us fresh wasabi instead of the usual paste -- I've never had that before, and it was amazing. Once you try it fresh, you can never go back. Our server, Dashay, was fantastic -- kind, attentive, and just such a lovely young woman. We started with hot sake and Kirin draft beer, then ordered a spicy tuna roll and a hamachi (yellowtail and scallion) roll, both of which were excellent. We also had tempura -- the batter was a little thick for my personal taste, but the sauces were so good that it still hit the spot. My favorite dish was the ama ebi (sweet shrimp), especially because they bring out the fried shrimp head, which was crispy and delicious. The sushi was fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully balanced. Between the amazing food and the genuine hospitality, we had such a wonderful evening. I can absolutely see why this is Parker's favorite sushi spot in Gonzales. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be back.

We ordered the vegetable spring rolls they had very little filling, had an odd flavor from the oil, but were very crispy. I ordered the hibachi lunch. My daughter ordered General Taos chicken. The portions were large. The fried rice had hard dried out pieces of rice, I guess it had sat open somewhere and dried out. the menu said my chicken would have a teriyaki sauce, not teriyaki, some not good sauce which was so salty I couldn't eat it. The raw chicken had not been covered I am guessing, because it had a 'skin' on it? I could not eat it. My lunch came with a choice of salad or clear soup. I chose the salad, was very crispy but it had almost an 1/2 inch of water in the bottom of the bowl. My daughter said her clear soup was excellent. Her General Taos chicken had an old freezer taste she said . We were totally unable to eat the entrees. So sad. We had hoped that this would be our go to place for Chinese food.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice, the menu had pictures and was more extensive than I thought. The service here was great. The food came out fast and here are my highlights. I got the hibachi Crudo and that was pretty good! Good flavor and good quality. next, the sushi that I got was a very delicious, I love coconut flavors with sushi, the sauce that came with was pretty good. Good quality again and was very refreshing. The Ramen was the best part of the meal, one of the biggest Rams have I've had and for the price it was already worth it. Great presentation with a load of toppings. The quality of the toppings were great, but again, just like my first sentence, the egg felt and tasted rotten which ruined the whole mood but again the Ramen was one of the best taste of Ramen I've had. The Ramen was a bit salty but overall, if I were to come back, I would get the Ramen again, I highly recommend!

I like how it is tucked away and not noticeable. It is in a huge modern business building on the bottom floor. There is a sign when you get closer to the entrance, but you do have to know it is there to see it. I went for a Friday happy hour. Right when I walked it, I was instantly impressed. It was very clean and sleek with a mixture of bar seating and window seating. There isn't a ton of space, but it has enough tables. The decor was perfect...I loved the pieces hanging down from the wall. You also get wet hand towels when you are seated at your table, I've never had this before and I loved it! I felt so fancy. For our happy hour, I got the pear apple martini for $6. It was the best martini I've ever had. It is a pretty green color with a cherry at the bottom. This is my new favorite drink! To eat, we got edname and French fries. I don't like edname so I just ate the frie. These are so beyond spicy!! They are good, but make sure you have a glass of water near by. The service was awesome and we never waited too long for anything.
