Unsure what this copper wire sticking out of our grout is from.

Similar to the experience of Liz C. We too are not happy to be leaving a poor review. We will say Alan is a hard worker. However his business acumen, focus and attention to the details needs work. Had we listened to Liz C's review originally, perhaps it would have spared us the angst, frustration and additional expense not only to fix the damage they caused but also to complete our bathroom remodel. Early on, the lack of care (poor job done covering/protecting items) & attention to the details was a problem, turning our bathroom remodel into a nightmare. For example: * tools/supplies on our hardwood floors with no protection underneath, until we asked them to put down some cardboard. * toilet sitting on our hardwood floors in our closet with water pooling around it. When we called Alan to voice our concern (and let him know we cleaned it up, put plastic down and set the toilet on top) his response was "if we damage the floor, we can tear it up and put tile down" * Nicks, scratches and chips to the hardwood floor throughout our closet and bedroom floor. Alan commented because our floors were hand scraped, it covers up easily. * Used our newly installed fantasy brown dolomite waterfall countertop as a "workbench" without covering it which caused numerous scratches all over the surface. They also left tiny paint splatter mist dots all over it. * Subpar grout work --holes/gaps longer than an inch where there was no grout * Tile cutting ineptitude - tried to hide cutting mistake by making grout line wider than industry standards * Scratches and/or cracks all over our shower wall tile. Alan told us these are "fissures" and absolutely not his fault, the tile "happens to have defects". We had two marble restoration companies take a look (and provide quotes to repair/restore) and both have agreed that most of the marks are SCRATCHES or CRACKS and although fissures are natural, if a fissure breaks the plane of the tile that is when water can seep in and may harbor bacteria and contaminants. * The shower floor tile we selected was a grey and white basket weave. Large sections of the shower floor tile laid was brown and white. Alan told us this was "a natural color variation being a characteristic of the marble tile". We have no experience with tile and listened to his explanation, however, we weren't happy with how it looked. We reached out to Floor & Décor ourselves, long story short, there was a manufacturing issue with the tile and it should have been returned to the store when the color discrepancy was noticed. Alan decided to have Alfredo tear out the bathroom floor tile and redo it WITHOUT RECOVERING ANYTHING IN PLASTIC nor using any sort of method to control the grey dust cement cloud when jackhammering the mortar. * Alan then tried to bill us an additional $650 for Alfredo redoing the floor. We didn't feel their installing tile without questioning why it wasn't all the same color was our fault, nor did he tell us Alfredo redoing it would be an additional charge, so we offered to split the cost with him and pay $325 to which he had an excuse as to why it was "absolutely not" his fault and said "to think that I'm expected to pay for part of the labor as well is not fair at all" When discussing our dissatisfaction with Alan (there are more issues but Yelp limits the number of characters), we were told he was provided "horrible materials" (we selected & paid for tile that was 3x the cost of his allowance) and that they "worked tirelessly to get the job done despite this to make sure the finished product would be awesome." Claiming we're the most "discerning customers he's had" and he doesn't think he has the "ability to please us". Which pretty much sums up our experience with how he handled issues. Excuses, no accountability nor ownership and blaming the owners (we have no experience with tile, nor remodeling and 'trusted' his explanations) who wanted the tile to be the color they selected and feel details matter. While it's true, from a distance the outcome Alan provided looks beautiful and a huge improvement from how it was originally, sadly, we had to hire additional companies to help us complete the project so up close it looks beautiful too. (12 pictures attached...however due to operator error they all posted twice.)

Soleil Floors exceeded every expectation I had for a flooring company. Having remodeled two homes…read morebefore, I can honestly say I've never worked with a company that handled a flooring project this well. We had them replace existing hardwood through out the entire home with luxury engineered hardwood. Their communication was exceptional, especially since I was living out of town during the remodel. They kept me informed every step of the way, and their professionalism, craftsmanship, attention to detail, and execution were second to none. Our hardwood floors turned out absolutely beautiful, and because of this experience, I've already hired them for additional projects. They're truly a dream to work with. To top it all off, their pricing was better than other companies we considered, yet the quality of their work was unmatched. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Soleil Floors to anyone looking for a company that genuinely takes pride in what they do.

The floor makes the house look brand new, and the attention to detail and respect for all the items in our house they moved was above and beyond what I expected. One small complaint was that they chipped areas of my wall in various places, but this was after informing them that we were going to repaint the walls ourselves. We didn't mind the wall damage due to that, but I would recommend communicating your needs clearly like we did. Excellent work!

I hired Eliab of The Good Tile to remove our 90s bleh kitchen floor tile, remove our backsplash…read moretile, and install over 300 square feet of new flooring tile plus new backsplash, and extensive accent wall tiling in the backsplash tile. My new floor tile has a pattern, and the backsplash tiles were 2.4" x 8" ceramic hand glaze ceramic tiles, and so neither would be easy to install unless the tile installer was very skilled. I thought the review photos on Yelp showed Eliab already has an extensive body of work done well, and I loved that he specializes in tile so I knew that he should be very competent at it. And he and his guys Salvi and Rafael were excellent! They worked hard and did very precise work. That was a ton of cuts and joints to line up perfectly with all that subway tile, and it looks wonderful. The cuts around light switches and power receptacles: also precise. He was as good as his word about showing up, doing it right, and cleaning up as they went. He earned my trust, was good to work with, and I would happily hire him again. I definitely recommend! I will post pictures for now as is - but keep in mind the construction is still going on so they will not look as great as they should. I'll try to remember to update our photos when the remodel is truly done.

UPDATE: Your…read moreresponse is not accountability. It is damage control, and it is misleading. You keep trying to reduce this to a "misunderstanding" about the plumber, but that is not what happened. You recommended and coordinated the plumber as part of the project, and the plumber stated that you already knew the correct rate. Yet I was quoted a lower amount up front, which made the situation feel like a bait-and-switch once the job was already underway. You cannot bring someone into the project, benefit from the job, and then act like his pricing and your communication had nothing to do with you. Your claim that you did not leave anything unfinished is also contradicted by the photos I uploaded. The kitchen tile work was not completed. That is not an opinion. That is visible in the photos. Your latest claim that you "only charged for what was carried out" is also misleading. I paid for the majority of the kitchen tile work, and the kitchen was still left unfinished. Saying you did not charge for the uncompleted portion does not erase the fact that I paid substantial money toward a job that you did not complete, then had to hire another contractor to finish. The most serious issue is that you were supposed to return the following week to finish the tile work and dispose of the tub. I texted you to confirm the schedule and materials. You did not return my calls. Then you did not show up. That is not a misunderstanding. That is a no-call/no-show. A professional business owner does not ignore a customer, fail to show up, leave visible unfinished work, and then publicly try to rewrite the facts. This was a horrendous experience involving misleading pricing, unfinished work, ignored calls, a no-show, and added expense. Homeowners should look closely at the photos and be extremely careful before allowing The Good Tile into their home or paying them for a project.

The previous contractor had left it with visible drywall screws wide exposed cuts, etc. It looked terrible. After panicking because our countertops were scheduled for installation and looking through Jasons Yelp photos, we knew we needed to get on Jason's schedule. He books out sometimes 3 weeks, and this was last minute. We ended up delaying our countertop installation by 3 weeks in order to have him do the work. Waiting for Jason to do the work was 100% worth having a plywood island top for those 3 weeks. He showed up on time and got right to work. His cuts are precise, and the extension he built looks like it's always been there. We ended up hiring him to extend our kitchen cabinetry to the ceiling and add crown molding to it, as well as add trim pieces to our cabinets' blank sides before we had them painted. We also hired him to modify and install a wood hood over our stove top. Everything came out perfectly. We are more than impressed with his work and wouldn't hesitate to hire him again. This guy is a professional and the best kind. There was not one bad surprise with him. He even gave me some tips, as I was filling the cabinet handle holes prior to getting them painted. They came out perfectly. Thanks, Jason!
