I loved the facial massage and she worked well with my fibromyalgia. She did just enough for results but not too hard to hurt me. I always find massage therapists are either too much or too little. But she was "just right, baby bear" I plan to see her monthly or more for my fibro. I am planning on sleeping like a baby tonight. Her massages are $75 for an hour and I think $110 for 90 minutes. I am going for the 90 minutes next time. The space is only open by appointment only which is nice.

Lawata Brown is my go-to Massage Therapist. She is fantastic and I would definitely recommend her…read more I met Lawata last year after purchasing a Lifebooker Loot massage package. It was easy to set up an appointment. I prefer email and that's how we scheduled our first meeting. I've seen her many times since then. Lawata's space at the Healing Room is conveniently located in River West with street parking either in front of the studio or around the block. I've gone to see her on different days at various times and I've never had an issue finding a spot. Her space is very clean, quiet and calming. I like the sound machine that she uses in the massage room as I find it to be relaxing. Some people may not like it, but I'm a fan. Lawata is very engaging and passionate about her career and is educated on various massage techniques. When meeting and interacting with her, you can also tell that she leads a very healthy lifestyle. Throughout my massages, Lawata asks the right questions and applies the right amount of pressure as needed. If I have any trouble spots, she focuses on those to ensure that everything is worked out. She also makes sure that I am comfortable at all times. I have often fallen asleep on the massage table because I am completely relaxed. When I get up, I always feel more energized. She's great! Please Note: This is my first review. I often use Yelp and other reviews to get information regarding different businesses before frequenting them. Before purchasing my LIfebooker Loot, I researched Lawata and found this link that describes her services: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbpsDAwbhEw

She made sure to communicate well before and after so that I could enjoy the experience of healing in zen mode. Maybe I talked a bit too much... Margaret is amazing! Definitely go to Red Leaf Wellness for a massage. I went there this weekend,…read moreand what I truly loved was that Margaret listened to me. She asked questions about where & how I was feeling stress and pressure and based the session around that. She focused on areas where I said I was having the most trouble and found some great pressure points along the way. It was a fantastic and relaxing hour. I loved it! Margaret took the time to talk to me, and I feel I learned a lot about my body and what I can do between massages to stay healthy. In that way, it was wholistic and focused on whole body wellness. Also, Margaret just seems like such a great person. You'll love her!

I had a table massage with my clothes on, and the therapist walked on my back with perfect balance and pressure -- not too heavy, just exactly where it was needed. This place is adorable!! I wanted to love this place so badly, but unfortunately, it was a very…read moredisappointing experience. My service started 30 minutes late, and there was significant confusion surrounding the appointment. I had been told by phone that my 30-minute appointment was confirmed, only to receive a conflicting text on my way there. A man who said he was "from next door" inserted himself into the situation and interfered with the new front-desk employee while she was doing her job. She appeared to understand the payment process and had clearly communicated that my 30-minute appointment was confirmed, but he insisted on getting involved. He was very intense and demanded that she ask another customer to leave for going over their treatment time due to issues with the massage robot. His behavior was unsettling and added to an already confusing experience. Most concerning, the business closed while I was still inside, along with a glitchy robot. Being left inside a closed business was a serious safety concern. The booking and communication issues were frustrating, but being left inside after closing was by far the most troubling part of the experience. Customers should never be left in that situation. It is a serious safety concern for customers and a security concern for the business.

I can say many wonderful things about Terra, but the number one thing you should know is that Terra…read morehas had a major positive impact on my life with her educated touch, and I personally recommend her to many people. After one session, it was completely obvious that she is very studied in the practice of healing through massage therapy, and cares profoundly about the effects of her work. In every session since, Terra continues to prove her expertise. I first began working with Terra because I had a lot of shoulder and shoulder blade pain that was affecting my sleep. Terra has helped me work on these problem areas, and I created a new practice of checking in on my posture throughout the day to help me maintain a healthy back. Since working with Terra and habitually checking my posture, I don't really have any pain and I sleep really well! Recently, I have requested that she focus on my head and jaw at the end of my sessions. I clench my jaw at night, and sleep with a retainer, but the clenching became worse due to stress. In the first session where I asked her to focus on my head and jaw, I felt a major difference and lots of relief. I was shocked (and continue to be shocked) at how effective her touch is in helping my jaw relax! I only wish I had asked her to work on this earlier. Terra has really helped me reduce the effects of stress on my body, which helps me feel ready to attack each day and be a good friend, daughter, employee, and more! Truly, I am thankful for Terra and will continue to highly recommend her.

Linda and Ella gave my husband and I an amazing Swedish Couples Massage w/ Lymphatic Drainage. This…read morenew location just opened directly across the street from their original location. This was our first time as customers of theirs, so we don't have much to compare it to, but the new location is beautiful. The decor is bright and welcoming, and the treatment rooms are cozy and relaxing. We mentioned a Groupon offer and they honored it in-store, but we did get upsold on a "Healing Treatment" that cost us $30 more each. It was supposed to include an 8- minute foot soak (we soaked for 4 minutes, I timed it), calming chimes to help us relax, and the Lymphatic Drainage portion of the massage. This didn't extend our massage length, but that was understood. The foot soak set-up is somewhat of a work-in-progress, if you ask me. We sat on adorable, furry stools placed precariously just inside the doorway of our treatment room. My husband rested against the wall while I sat in the middle of the room with no back support. It made more sense, to me, that we should've been sat against the opposite wall. The water was warm and felt good, but the door was open the entire time and we didn't get our full 8 minutes, which made it less than relaxing. Our full-body massages ended 4 minutes early, but I feel that this is pretty normal for this type of "spa"/ massage parlor. We both thoroughly enjoyed the Eucalyptus aromatherapy - you are able to choose a scent of your own. The hot stones were nice as well. They also used what I believe was a disposable, heated eye mask and a weighted heat pad that was laid atop our tummies. We've had lots of massages, but use of these items were new to us. We left feeling relaxed and sleepy! P.S. Parking in the area was the typical, Chicago-area nightmare, despite what I was told when I called to inquire. Had we known this, we would've Ubered or caught a Lyft! P.P.S. One more thing, paying in cash saves you a 3% card processing fee. You're welcome!
