TRASH CANS! Such a simple pleasure. Keeps the park clean.

Centennial Park is another very easy location to find, sitting just off Bothell Everett Hwy in Bothell. It's got an easy to spot sign, and a well-marked private parking lot. Some of the parks amenities are visible right away from the parking lot, like modern bathrooms and a nice pavilion area with multiple grills for picnicking. There's also a beautiful old restored school house in the classical tradition of the area. However, the school house is still unusable at this point as they are actively raising funding for renovating the inside of the building. So, while it is need to look at from the outside, this is an amenity that's not exactly usable yet in its full capacity. Hopefully soon it will open which would make for another neat attraction at this part. There's a very small playground area as soon as you walk into the central trail in the park. However it's very limited in scope-there are two rocks that older children can climb, and two rudimentary seesaws that are made out of logs and stones. This adds to the rustic outdoor nature of the park itself, and my children were able to find some enjoyment in it. However, it's important that people understand when they bring their kids to this part that there's no playground in the true sense of the word. That said the charm in this park is in its wide open spaces. This is a large piece of land with many interesting hills and trees to explore. There are trails around and through the park that allow people to really enjoy the beautiful views. It also seems to be a popular location for dog owners who can give their pet plenty of room to roam in the center of the park. (Note: there are signs in the park explaining that dogs must remain on leashes, but many people that frequent the park with dogs don't seem to allow their dog to run and roam in the open field. It wasn't a major concern for my family at the time as people were well in control of their dogs, but people should be aware that this does happen when they bring children to the park.) The wetlands, the trees and the other beautiful nature and wildlife that exist in this area are all well worth the visit. In fact the simplicity of nature is the charm of this park. It's a nice quiet place to walk or relax, though it would be even more relaxing if there was more seating around the park- all the seating is placed towards the very front. Extra credit to this park for having many useful trash cans and recycling containers. Recommended.

Centennial Park is a new addition to the Bothell park system. In fact, if you look at aerial shots of the area, most don't even show it under construction. I love this park for a few reasons: First, they have clean, modern bathrooms. In my line of work, I'm out and about in the county most days, and knowing the location of the nearest clean bathroom is a necessity. Second, they have done a great job with the trails. The area is home to some really neat wetlands, and the trails lead you down to them. My biggest complaint is an overall lack of shaded eating areas. I like to take my lunch outside when I can, and any day I'm not eating in my work truck is a good day. Sadly, Centennial park isn't a place I can easily do this. Overall, though, I think this park is well worth a visit on a nice day. The trails are extensive, but not too hard, and the facilities are top-notch!

This park is good. Not great. Good. It has ample room for activities such as frisbee & down hill cart wheeling. However, the bugs in the fall time are avid attackers. Any who, there is a good plastic rock for all your climbing needs as well as a good tree to sit under. At night time it is important to be aware of the youths. They smoke marijuana cigarettes & play hord beats. Here is Abby for climbing and frisbee reference:

Nice space to throw the ball for my dog. Shady spots and wide open spots. Not at all crowded either!

Not only do they have bathrooms and water fountains, but also picnic areas, and the trails, and the BLACKBERRIES.

Woodin Creek Park - Path from Woodin Creek Park to the Sammamish River Trail

Woodin Creek Park leads to the Sammamish River Trail. There are only 5 parking spots, and all 5 of them were full when Ryan and I arrived at this park, so we parked near the sports field and walked over to this park. I had been wanting to check out this park because I play basketball occasionally with friends and I have been searching for an infrequently-used outdoor basketball court that we can play on when the weather gets a bit warmer. Last year, when I was healthy enough to do it, I played basketball at home (but with the way that my back yard is structured as well as the only reasonable place to put the basketball hoop, the surroundings are less than ideal for retrieving a runaway ball), and I also played on the basketball court at Rhododendron Park in Kenmore, but the scent of heavy traffic at that other park was kind of off-putting to me as I am sensitive to smells and wanted a court where the air smelled like trees instead of heavy exhaust. This basketball court at this park smells nice - nature smells mostly - and it is mostly surrounded by a wide flat grassy meadow, making it easy to retrieve the basketball if it rolls away. I think I have found a better place to play basketball with my friends this year! As mentioned in the other review, there is also one tennis court at this park. No one was playing basketball or tennis when we visited. There isn't much for kids to do here, unless they play basketball or tennis, or some other sport where a medium-sized grassy meadow would be useful (soccer? badminton?), but that's fine by me, just thought I would note it for people who enjoy taking their kids to the park. No swings, play center, slides, things like that. Ryan and I enjoyed our visit to this park.
