As I explored the trails, I found a few stream crossings, different bird species, a baby snake, and a variety of flowers in bloom. The park was quiet and I did not encounter too many people as I explored. Across the stream(s), I found the trails could get a bit muddy and overlain with blackberry branches. I was wearing running shoes with thinner soles and decided not to go the way of the blackberry bushes as the thorns might have put holes in them, something to explore with thicker-soled shoes. The birds were singing all throughout my visit, which was soothing. Closer to the parking lot is a viewing area overlooking an expanse with longer grass, a covered picnic area with a grill, and an old schoolhouse that can be reserved for different uses. Fun park to stop and enjoy the wildlife, trees, and flowers.

The hike has some decent incline on the way back to your car, so bring your water! The trail itself is pretty shaded so it can be chilly. Dog friendly! Limited parking so be ready for a little wait. I enjoy this park for a quick hike with my dog, especially in the evenings. Trails are well maintained with a few muddy spots no matter what time of year. There are restrooms at the bottom where the main beachfront is. This recent time I went, there were quite a few trail runners. I can see how this a great spot for that.

This is my first time here and it checks off so many boxes for me as a mama of little kids. Even though it's located close to a busy street, it's quite serene here. The playground areas have enough for small and bigger kids to burn off energy. There's a climbing wall, a little zipline, slides and swings. I took a stroll down towards the water, and it was nice and peaceful, even though it's right underneath 68th/Juanita Dr. There is a small covered picnic area and a couple of BBQs. There are bathrooms with a changing table(!) and the bathroom seems to be well kept. I'm not sure of dogs are allowed, but there is so much grassy area to run around, have a picnic in, or toss a ball around. This place is kind of an introverted mom's dream park. And TBH, I am not a botanist. So, I can't tell you how many rhododendrons there are, but there are certainly a lot of flowers in bloom. My allergies know this.

What I appreciate about Log Boom is that there is usually a Lake Forest park patrol car parked in the parking lot in case there is an accident. I have gone to other parks and law enforcement is non existent. I once saw a forklift with keys by the park and let a dispatcher know. I'm very pleased by this park. The park is small, but serene. Most of the space follows Lyon Creek under overhanging foliage, with a bench and boardwalk to enjoy. Where the creek meets the lake, there is a small dock and bench to frequent. Have not seen any salmon running up the creek as of yet, but that would make my day. My Brother / Best Friend, Ryan, and I walked through Woodin Creek Park recently, prior to taking a…read morelong, peaceful walk on the Sammamish River Trail. Woodin Creek Park leads to the Sammamish River Trail. There are only 5 parking spots, and all 5 of them were full when Ryan and I arrived at this park, so we parked near the sports field and walked over to this park. I had been wanting to check out this park because I play basketball occasionally with friends and I have been searching for an infrequently-used outdoor basketball court that we can play on when the weather gets a bit warmer. Last year, when I was healthy enough to do it, I played basketball at home (but with the way that my back yard is structured as well as the only reasonable place to put the basketball hoop, the surroundings are less than ideal for retrieving a runaway ball), and I also played on the basketball court at Rhododendron Park in Kenmore, but the scent of heavy traffic at that other park was kind of off-putting to me as I am sensitive to smells and wanted a court where the air smelled like trees instead of heavy exhaust. This basketball court at this park smells nice - nature smells mostly - and it is mostly surrounded by a wide flat grassy meadow, making it easy to retrieve the basketball if it rolls away. I think I have found a better place to play basketball with my friends this year! As mentioned in the other review, there is also one tennis court at this park. No one was playing basketball or tennis when we visited. There isn't much for kids to do here, unless they play basketball or tennis, or some other sport where a medium-sized grassy meadow would be useful (soccer? badminton?), but that's fine by me, just thought I would note it for people who enjoy taking their kids to the park. No swings, play center, slides, things like that. Ryan and I enjoyed our visit to this park.
