I rented the picnic shelter for the day for a birthday party and it was only $40. That is much cheaper than other parks in the area. The picnic tables are a little worn but it's a nice size area. And the picnic shelter is right next to the bathroom and play area. It's in a really convenient spot. I was a little worried about traffic sounds. You can hear if a car is noisy but you don't really hear just the normal traffic. It is a nice, pleasant area.

You have such a beautiful view of the marina and water! The park is in the residential area and has big trees, next to homes that are old but beautiful! I would come here again :)

It reminded me of Richmond Beach, but much more room to spread out and having a lot more sand! The kids enjoyed searching for crabs, and seeing the trains roll by. I loved the beautiful clam/mussel shells, and having a clear view of the kids in all directions. There were many families at the beach, but it didn't feel like it with the space between us. Word of advice...pack light, you'll need to hike up and down several stairs. Not wheelchair accessible, and not a bathroom in sight. You'll need to find a bush, or hike up the stairs to the playground area. We will leave the wagon at home next time, and may bring a tent to use as a potty.

The park itself is pretty big, a nice large lawn with picnic tables and plenty of space to set up a picnic on the grass. Most people seemed to be enjoying lunch in their car or on the grass or next to their cars. A few folks set up their lawn chairs and enjoyed the sunshine but point is, theres a lot space to enjoy the park however you want, it's pretty great! As for dog walking it wasn't a large area for dogs to roam around, dogs must stay on leash or you risk a fine according to the signs there, but it's still a nice area to bring your dog to while you enjoy the view. I had seen pictures of dogs in the water so I knew there had to be a trail somewhere. The lawn has a few levels to it and a lot of grassy spots areas to hang out in between the bushes and off to the left we found a dirt road. The signage was spray painted so you cant read it and the path looks pretty used so we went down it and came to the traintracks. We crossed those and found the beach where further down we saw some other people. Our dogs loved it, they got to enjoy the sunshine, roam on the grass, walk around and swim! We definitely plan on coming back just to enjoy coffee and a view, or have a nice lunch date, watch the sunset, theres quite a few fun possibilities here!

The hike has some decent incline on the way back to your car, so bring your water! The trail itself is pretty shaded so it can be chilly. Dog friendly! Limited parking so be ready for a little wait. Sadly we didn't hit it on a day the lighthouse was open but it was interesting to walk around the grounds. The bathroom was large and clean. You use your phone to pay for parking but it's not expensive. Food options are just steps away, and train enthusiasts will appreciate the locomotives that rumble by periodically. There are several community fire pits available for family gatherings, as well as benches that encourage one to sit and contemplate life, or watch the sunset turn the sky shades of pink and coral.
