We had Sound World install a home theater system and multi-room sound system in our house roughly 8 years ago. Overall the installation was good until I caught the installer drilling a large hole in the ceiling and stapling a large cable along the entry door from the garage (had they discussed options with me first, I would have informed them that we had a chase installed for the purpose of running cables to the attic). I was also unimpressed when he seemed oblivious to the multiple black fingerprint smudges on the ceiling when he installed the speakers. We later had a receiver go bad which they replaced under warranty. Turns out the replacement was used (I found this out when I was programming it and found someone else's internet info stored in it). Fast forward to 2020. With technological changes since our initial installation, we wanted to make some modifications to our system so I stopped by their store to schedule an appointment. They wouldn't even pencil me into their appointment book (2 months out) without a credit card on file! I can understand confirming payment arrangements prior to sending a technician an hour away, but how about taking care of it with a phone call while verifying the appointment perhaps the day before the scheduled installation date? To be unwilling to even schedule an appointment without a credit card on file was absolutely insulting to me - especially after we had previously spent $12,000+ with them!!! I told them as much and told them I would look elsewhere. Now for the straw.... We needed a new bulb for our projector. It seems it is something we have to order from a dealer so I contacted Sound World early on December 27. I was told someone would get back to me. By the afternoon of the 28th, I had not heard back. After an internet search, I found a company called Jaspertronics. I called them, gave them my make/model number and they knew what bulb I needed within seconds. I received my order from them on the 30th. Jaspertronics provided me with excellent, friendly, and efficient customer service. Those are the qualities Sound World is lacking. 24 days and counting - I HAVE STILL NOT RECEIVED A CALL BACK from Sound World!! I obviously don't recommend them.

I wish I were closer to try things out in person, but regardless I highly recommend calling them and talking through things - they'll not only help you choose the right gear, but also discuss unlisted specials or ways to save. I didn't actually read other Yelp reviews but doing so now it seems some have concerns about stock - all the more reason to just call them and talk! I haven't returned anything so can't comment on the restocking fee, but I think it makes sense as they'd have to sell it as open box and if you're looking for the best price, they have to manage costs (so they don't offer free returns / free restocking). For that, check out Amazon or Best Buy, but you won't get nearly as great of service or value imo.

    Buyer Beware!! I…read morerecently contacted Hi-Fi Heaven to purchase an open box amp listed on their website. I spoke to salesperson "Greg" who was happy to confirm how I could purchase the item through Zelle for a discount, but he never thought it relevant to tell me they didn't actually have the open box item in stock. After I paid online, he indicated the payment was received and that he'd be sending me a tracking #. When the tracking # never arrived days later, I called the store and spoke to a different salesperson who was surprised to hear the order was even taken in the first place, as they said they didn't actually have the open box amp they just sold me. I was told several more "open box" amps would be shipped soon by the manufacturer if I wanted to wait. All the while, the same amp was still listed for sale on their website. There are obviously a few things fishy in Hi-Fi Heaven! For one, "open box" usually implies it's a customer return, not a used item coming from the manufacture. Are they actually selling 'open box' returns from their customers or actually "reconditioned" units they receive from the manufacture? Second, it's just not good business to take a customer's money when knowing full well they don't actually have the item they are selling. Reputable companies don't do this. The one thing I will give them credit for, which is why this isn't a 1 star review, is that when I asked them for my money back they did refund me without trouble or delay. I should've noticed they don't actually indicate whether anything they list for sale on their website is in stock or not. They will happily take your money either way and apparently this common practice with these guys based on other reviews. Great way to treat your customers guys!

Over 4 months and they still can't get the job done! I didn't ask for anything wildly crazy. I just needed to replace my dead audio radio. I thought supporting a small business would be nice. WRONG! On 12/21/21, I called to get a replacement radio for my car. I was quoted $300. The next morning, I went in to put down 50% deposit. I told them I need my back camera to work. Chris told me I needed to upgrade to a $500 radio in order have back camera. I agreed and put down $400. I was told they will call me once my radio is delivered. Nothing for 3 weeks! Not a single phone call. On 1/22/22, I called to follow-up on the status of my radio. The guy on the phone couldn't find my order. He put me on hold for a long time. When he finally came back, he told me the radio hasn't arrived yet. I'm sure this was went they finally ordered the radio. On 2/4/22, I called again. Still no radio. I asked to talk to the manager, Chris. I was told he already left for the day. I asked that he called me back on Monday. Monday came and no call. On 2/8/22, I got a call to schedule a time to install my radio. We scheduled for 2/11/2022. I thought the drama was over. Not even close! On the day of installation, I was told they didn't know I needed my back camera to work. I reminded them why I upgraded my radio. They said they have no records of such a request. Suddenly, they change their story to needing an adapter to make the back camera work. Since I already paid for labor, I agreed to buy the adapter for an extra $65. I waited for Chris to place an order for the adapter. I was told it would take at least 2 weeks to get it delivered since it's coming from Florida. On 2/22/21, I called to follow up on my adapter since no one called me. Once again, the person on my phone has no clue. He said he will call Chris to get the status. On 3/8/21, I called again to follow up. I was told Chris said the adapter hasn't arrived. Shit! They might as well order the dam part from China! It would be here already! On 3/15/21, I called again to request a refund. I was told Chris is on vacation and I should call back tomorrow to talk to him. On 3/16/21, I called at 1PM and finally talked to Chris. His excuse was that he was on vacation. We scheduled a time to finish installing my back camera the following week. On 3/23/21, I arrived at 9AM to get my camera installed as scheduled. The guy at the front looked puzzled and couldn't find anything scheduled in the computer. He left to the back and came back with a lame excuse that Chris will need to reschedule for tomorrow morning since his kid is sick (I'm almost sure Chris is sitting back there in his little office hiding). Being a parent, I understand about sick kids but it's not that hard to just call and let me know so I didn't have to drive across town in rainy bad weather. I left with no real schedule on when exactly I should come back and they never called me to follow up either. No surprise! This shit show has gone long enough and I have been as understanding as humanly possible. I'm done chasing them to do their job! They have a disclaimer on their invoice stating, "NO REFUNDS and all sales are final.... Anything not picked up 90 days will be sold or thrown away." I'm guessing they want to stall my installation so they can keep the extra money without doing any work, or they have been lying and never got the part to install my back camera. If you can afford to wait months and chase them down like little kids to get "part" of your work done, go right ahead and contact them. My biggest regard is thinking a small business would do a better job and deserves to get paid. I wasted so much time and ended up paying over $700 for a simple car radio replacement. NEVER AGAIN! EXTREMELY CORRUPT!!! Not to mention... the entire experience felt sexist and racist too. Stay far away, women and minorities.

    Cutting edge, clean, and high tech!…read more I am a audiophile and love good quality sound. Extreme Audio has it all from basic installs to complete custom setups. I received excellent customer service from there highly experienced staff. Guided me to exactly what I was looking for. They have a lot of choices but no too many so you don't get confused. They only Carry the best quality stuff even there low end is great at reasonable prices. There install are clean and solid. I've never had a better experience at any other electronics store. They have home audio also which I'm going to explore next year. I wish every business was this thorough and detailed with there dealings. 5 Stars all the way thanks guys
