I just cannot express enough to not use spectrum for a damn thing! I understand TV and internet is a privilege to have but you're being raped on the charges and fees... I'm also tired of having to reset my modem and router every day because it keeps cutting in and out. Had a service tech here 6 times this year to put in new cables and splitters because "they've gone bad". Never had we had this issue when Time Warner was still a thing. Spectrum is a piss poor company and they don't care about existing customers. They only care about giving deals to their new customers. So you mean to tell me after 8+ years of being a spectrum customer, I'm not entitled to some kind of discount!? There is no loyalty whatsoever. Their basic internet plan and the medium tier of tv should not cost over $140 but here I am paying $188 a month... They're also trying to push their mobile plan.. yea $30 a month but you probably won't get much service when you leave the store Yea no! Hands down the absolute worst company on the planet. I'm overseas and trying to watch content and PAY MY BILL. Can't log in with the My Spectrum app on my phone or via their website from my laptop. After HOURS of wasted time on customer support, their FINAL answer was you cannot use a VPN and access their site. It's 2025 and Spectrum is telling its customers they CANNOT use a VPN? Seriously? There is no way I'm NOT going to use a VPN when I'm overseas. The VPN pops out in the US so it's not an issue of it being a US based provider. BTW I used two different VPN providers and neither work. I can access Sling just fine. I can access YouTube, Amazon and access 20 different websites to pay my bills WITH my VPN - no issues ever. Spectrum ? No they are completely broken. got in the store to return items, mind you my visit was only 14 min long to complete what I needed to do. When I got to the store, I was number 7 on the list. There were 4 men working. When I got to second on the list, 2 of them disappeared. The snow storm was coming in and I knew I had to drive home 1 hour north. I was getting a little anxious. I waited and waited and waited about 30 min and one came back in and sat down at his desk and started doing something on his computer for about 10 min before he called me. The one guy was setting up phones and new services and the people he was helping made an appointment. The other people were being helped too and were there a long time, don't know what they were doing. They were out of my range of hearing. When I left the store, the storm had now come in and I rode it home all the way. Had that person helped me before he and that other person left, I would have gotten home before the storm got bad. As I waited, the list went from 4 of us back to 7 and by the time I left, 2 more walked in to be added to the list. One guy worked steady and helped taking no breaks in between, the other one walked off for about 8 min and then came back and worked steady. the other 2 worked as little as possible. The two that stayed working were the Spanish speaking workers and the two that worked slow, they were Caucasian. I am Caucasian so I certainly am not prejudice. Spectrum is the worst internet service! Do not EVER sign up. They over-charge you and literally make it impossible to cancel. We went with another provider and saved $35/month for just basic service. I called Customer Service to inquire about any promotions going on. The representative tried to up sale me before handlining my question. I was not interested in buying mobile service from Spectrum. I am not sure if she was mad but she came back with no hon (honey) there are not any sales I can participate in, but that she would send me to promotions. I said no and began to hang up. Well at the end of the call thinking I hung up stated, "I dont understand, speaking of me as the customer, they dont want add on's but want a cheaper bill'. I've never had any issues at this store. Even had an employee that was super nice tried to help me get my number ported after the "eSIM" they emailed me failed. But he had to call the mobile department too. And they lost the number. The people at the store are great, know what they are doing and always helpful. Spectrum shares towers with Verizon and still charges $85 a month for an IPhone 15 plan. In 5G data zones I can't even listen to Spotify and have even one other app open without waiting 30 minutes for it to load. feels like I bought a Walmart pay phone, except, even in the 2000's THEY ACTUALLY WORKED. Customer service is terrible. They are a new company working with Charter Communications. They just got into the internet and mobile game. And theyre terrible at it. Do. Not. Use. They told me I had to buy a new phone so that it was compatible with spectrum, this was a lie. After a year. Year my bill pretty much doubled. I canceled, went to a different carrier again. Again had to get a new phone. So I sold my phone on marketplace, and it took 2 months before spectrum would give me my unlock code. Every time I called I was on hold for at least 30 to 45 minutes. If I could give them a negative 1,000 stars I would. I just canceled because I was tired of getting my rates increased without notice on multiple occasions than having to sit on the phone for 45 minutes plus to complain and have the rates sightly reduce just to have them jump up again a few months later. I canceled my service now after 8-1/2 years. I canceled and returned my equipment and since it was 2 days within the new billing cycle they won't prorate my bill. So I own a whole month for services I canceled. The people that run Spectum are greedy and no nothing of client loyalty. I would rather only use internet off my phone before I go back to them. I switched to Fiber because not only do they have the worst customer service but they also have slower speeds than they say they are selling to you. Pretty sure that's fraud. If you work for Spectrum, I highly recommend you find a new job. FYI, no not everyone yells at you over the phone at other jobs. Spectrum has harassed me for over a year now. I've filled out their privacy form online to not be disturbed in any way, twice because they "misplaced" the first one. They don't seem to care about the well-being of locals in their areas as they continued to send mail and employees to my house. I even took it up with the CEO and Will take this to court if they do not stop sending people to my home. I've warned them plenty of times, and I will now look into a lawyer. read more

We had a family member who recently passed away and I am in charge of closing their accounts out.. I have had no issues doing this over the phone with their credit cards & any other accounts.. SPECTRUM is the only place that I have called that I need to physically go there and provide documentation in order to cancel their account!? I live 25 minutes away from the closest spectrum and there's always a line out the door there!! so I have to take a day off work to take care of this when it should take 5 minutes. Where to start. For about 21 months, I've been paying for TV streaming service (laden with extensive periods of buffering, error messages that service is not available right now, etc) and their super high speed internet, which drops me all the time. I've had service techs time home 4 or 5 times and it's always the same. There's nothing wrong with the equipment, they can't help me. I am at my wits end. I subscribed to Fubo for TV. Over the past 2-2.5 weeks, I've attempted to cancel the Spectrum TV service. I call the #s I am directed to (because Spectrum doesn't allow customers to cancel online), get transferred 3-4x, sit on hold and after a half hour or more, get frustrated and hang up, and decide to call another time when they're maybe not so busy. Well, today I finally get to Eric, after a mere 20 minutes on hold. I tell him I want to cancel tv as of midnight tonight and will cancel internet within the next couple of weeks. Since I'm already being charged for today, to cancel effective midnight. He repeats back what I've asked for and I confirm. Easy peasy, right? Wrong! Eric cuts my TV service immediately. Fine. I reach out to customer service to confirm I'll be charged for only 2 days, and they tell me "Spectrum does not pro-rate." WHAT? SINCE WHEN?? 1. I told Eric I expected a prorated bill and he said no problem. He never told me they don't prorate. 2. If they're going to bill me for the whole billing cycle, then the service should not be cut until the end of the cycle. Spectrum makes it as difficult to cancel as humanly possible, then misleads its customers and literally steals money for services not rendered. This is fraud. read more

Just tried to cancel my services with Spectrum as we are going with another provider. I was asked to provide SIX reasons why I wanted to leave Spectrum. The phone representative stated that if I did not provide six reasons he could not close my account. I then requested to speak to a supervisor and I was told I could not do that without six reasons as well. Customers DO NOT need to provide six reasons to stop service. Be aware! If leaving Spectrum and switching to another carrier you will want to do notify them and cancel prior to the end of the current billing month. We called to let them know on November 24th we were canceling their services on December 1st which on that day we returned the modem and equipment to the Spectrum office. We received our Spectrum bill dated November 26, 2023 for service 11/26/23 - 12/25/23. I called to see how much we owed for their services from November 26th through December 1st since as of December 1st we had canceled. I was told you have to pay the full amount on the bill and no credit is given for the days we no longer used their services nor had the equipment (December 2nd through December 25th). I was told to look at the invoice under Billing information which stated: "Spectrum Terms and Conditions of Service - In accordance with the Spectrum Terms and Conditions of Service, Spectrum services are billed on a monthly basis. Spectrum does not provide credits for monthly subscriptions services that are cancelled prior to the end of the current billing month." read more

Spectrum is a horrendous company that takes advantage of their customers. It's no surprise they have a 1.6 rating on almost every site and doesn't even allow reviews on their facebook page. Maybe treat your customers better and you wouldn't have to block facebook and google reviews. I was overcharged for services I didn't use. I spent months trying to get it resolved and it ended with a support specialist telling me they would drop the charges because they were invalid but refused to drop the late fees. I won the dispute with my credit card company and now months later spectrum has decided to submit the charges to a collection agency. This charge started as an invalid charge for a month of service at $79.99 and they have submitted this to collections for a total of $280. I will take that to my grave. It is not right to bully your customers with collections scare tactics and my only hope is that they spend more on collections than they get back. They deserve every bit of bad publicity they get. I have 15 rental homes and have one by one switched every one away from them. Thank god for other competitive companies putting an end to the ridiculous monopoly that spectrum held for so long in some many area. read more

This review is in regards to the SLEAZY business practices of the parent company and is NOT reflective of the kind working folks at the Spectrum offices. June 27 I called the home offices to change my mobile phone plan from the 1G to the unlimited. Despite my explicit statements to start the new plan on July 5, when my new month begins, they switched my plan that day and charged me for 8 days of unlimited service. I called to complain and received only that "there is nothing we can do." I find it ridiculous that Spectrum WAS able to flip a switch AND figure out how much more I owed them immediately, yet they are unable to flip the switch again to pay their customers what is owed to them. Needless to say, I was irritate and wrote a complaint to the Better Business Bureau who was fantastic. I got a supervisor on the line who apologized but couldn't do anything financially until NEXT MONTH. I have no idea if I received what was promised because I am unable to access my billing statement. Strangely too convenient for my taste. However, this lack of access did not prevent them from charging me again for the unlimited plan. Corporations like this represent EVERYTHING that is wrong with America: greed, apathy, and corruption. Shame on YOU! read more

I just recently left Spectrum due to customer service issues and price increases. I was fortunate enough to have the T-Mobile option of 5G internet. Which has been great and 20 dollars cheaper. I closed my former account with Spectrum at the beginning of the billing period and was told I would need to pay the full amount for the coming month. Crazy. I can only hope that as T-Mobile expands their 5G service the competition will improve Spectrum's business model. Thanks to 5G speed we now have options. read more
