Tuna Sashimi Tostada, Half Tray Shrimp Mango Habanero Ceviche, Half Tray Shrimp Green Ceviche
Carlos V.

Where do I start when it comes to this establishment. They are located in the beautiful downtown Pomona inside a good building. They have a full bar, music, pool tables and good aesthetics. To my knowledge the first ceviche spot in downtown Pomona and if not the first definitely the first to do it right! The owner is always present and greets everyone. They always host events as well such as fights, live music or dj's. The place definitely has an overall good vibe and is family friendly. My personal favorite is the sashimi but everything I've tried has also not disappointed.

Dive bar that serves a few items. The ceviche tostada was good. The service was fine. Was hoping for a restaurant, not a bar.

Small bar, big flavors! We stopped by this dive bar/speakeasy spot and were seriously impressed. The fish tacos were incredible--crispy, and super fresh. The fish tostadas were just as delicious, perfectly balanced and full of flavor. As for the micheladas, they weren't as tomato based, which I personally prefer--so that's a 10/10 from me. Great food, great service. Definitely a hidden gem worth checking out!

This is a hidden Gem !! The seafood is always super fresh and flavorful. Bartenders and servers are hella chill and nice. They have a couple pool tables and the music is always a vibe. Some of the biggest and tattiest fish tacos I ever had. The ceviche nachos are finger licking good.

The mango habanero tostada is to die for. It's screaming delicious, crunchy all in one. The flavors are bold, and the Music is bumping.

The food was great. The flavors are bold and the services on point. You can grab a beer. Listen to some good tunes and play some pool. The staff is always courteous and knowledgeable about the different tostada options.

The food is as delicious as they say! All the tostas were great, however, the sashimi tuna was by far the tastiest. They were sold out of the fish ceviche, so I need to go back and try it!

This is the fish taco, the size of the plate

Basically it's a cover charge as the 80s bar does a cover on the weekends too. Be sure to check in with the host on the left. They have you wait in line until the next group is done with their timed seating. We had a 10pm reservation and probably waited about 15-20 minutes to enter. Walking through the 80s bar it gives off very clubby and busy vibes so it was hard to imagine a speakeasy at the end of it. I was actually shocked upon entrance and really impressed with the detail and ambiance. It is a small space and keep in mind you may share a table with another group if necessary. The drinks were actually phenomenal. On the pricier end of $22 and up but we're so good. I loved the horror theme play on the cocktail names! The candy man was delicious and my favorite. The Lester drink came in a light bulb with an edible flower and that was definitely an experience! My hubby loved the Samara which was a delicious espresso. I wish I could have tried more cocktails but our timed seating was up (90minutes). Overall, I was a bit worried with all the poor reviews but we had a good time and definitely got you into the spooky season spirit! The staff was also very kind. I do wish they had more horror actors but still a good time. Tip: parking ample and free All ordering is done on your phone so if you have Apple Pay it makes it so much quicker to close out the tab when ordering.

We get wristbands and assigned a table. We were told to wait in another line but we were let in shortly after. We bypass the 80's bar and go to a back room to make it feel like a "speakeasy." They gave us some ground rules and led us to our tables. At the table you have a QR code where you can place drink orders. The bar brings out your drinks to the table. Service was fairly quick and friendly. The drinks were all sweet cocktails and in the "Matterhorn Lodge" theme. There is a 2 drink minimum purchase (per guest) and each drink is $20+ so it can add up. I'm more of a beer person but some of the drinks were delicious. There was one that tasted like Christmas morning (cinnamon, clove, milky) and another drink that had popping boba that was also fun. If you're a butterfinger or peanut butter fan, there was one drink that tasted like it (you'll see it on the drink menu). I wouldn't say the drinks were strong. They do a good job of enforcing the theme. They had a "Yeti" come out and interact with the tables. Good for photo ops. They also had a magician doing a few tricks, and I enjoyed that the most. The place was kept fairly chilly! Even the bathrooms had jokes and signage on the walls that alluded to the alps. Overall a great time. Small venue but pretty chill. Can be pricey. Take a sweater. Good for dates and small groups.

The bottomless mimosas ($29.99) sound like a great deal, but just know how they run it. There's a 90-minute minimum, and they don't bring a bottle to the table--you get one mimosa at a time, and you have to finish it before they'll bring another. The first one I got tasted like straight orange juice barely any champagne. I sent it back and to their credit, they remade it much better They mentioned they control pours to keep the environment in check, which I understand--but if you're expecting free-pour vibes, that's not the case here. Food-wise: French toast & breakfast potatoes were really good However the Chilaquiles were super dry and lacked flavor--wouldn't recommend Burger & fries were decent, but nothing special As for drink pricing, it does lean a bit on the higher side. bucket of 5 beers was around $42, $15 for a Tito's vodka shot, and even a basic Jack and Coke came out to about $18 with tip, which felt a little steep for the area. the best deal was definitely the green tea shots at only $9 I will say, our waitress Priscilla was great. She had a lot of tables and seemed a bit overwhelmed, but she still made an effort to check on us and kept my mimosas coming pretty promptly. I didn't have to wait long at all between refills, which I appreciated. Since we went for a special event, the DJs were great and really kept the energy up the whole time Parking was easy. It did say there was a $2 fee, but when we printed the ticket, we weren't charged--so it might be free, but I'd still double-check at the kiosk just in case. Overall: decent spot for the vibe, music, and brunch outing, but just be prepared for controlled drinks and slightly higher prices.

I didn't actually come to drink and dance, I came for a memorial show for a beloved local musician…read more It wasn't a somber occasion but a tribute to a good guy who enjoyed ear shredding live music. Needless to say I thought the Flyway was an interesting choice of venue for this occasion. Located near the rooftop in the same building as the Fox Theater, you'll see the entrance off Garey. Parking is abundant and can be a bit pricey if you want to park in the closest lot between the Fox and the bank. I paid $25 because I was feeling a bit lazy. After walking up 4-5 flights of stairs (there is an elevator available) you'll find yourself in a nicely decorated room with wooden floors, couches along the wall and colorful lighting. Got that old tyme speakeasy vibe (but no piano music.) The bar is near where you enter. There were a few hiccups in the sound, probably because this place doesn't seem to have live music that often. Or it was on the musicians themselves (there were 11 bands that played, mostly way younger than I). But overall the sound was pretty good. I always have earplugs in but if I forgot them at home I wouldn't have lost much sleep. I didn't drink anything alcoholic but the bartenders were keeping the water cups going. That was very appreciated because with the amount of people moving it got warm on occasion. They also have a smaller balcony with a nice view of Garey and other parts of downtown Pomona. Would I come back for the nightclub? No. I'm too old for that lol. But another live show? Sure why not. You can never be too old for live music.

This was formerly Citrus Grove before it was taken over by the current owners. I enjoyed Citrus Grove just as much, and I am happy that Evolve doesn't make me miss it. My favorite drinks are their take on the White Russian and their White Hokkaido. The White Russian is special because they add pistachio, and it's just fantastic! The White Hokkaido is the matcha version, so instead of the coffee liquor, they use matcha, and it's delightful! They often have live jazz, which makes the place fun, though often on jazz nights, they require advance reservations or ticket purchase. Other nights are more quiet and perfect for a relaxed outing. They don't have any food, but there are often food vendors at the brewery across the way, and you can bring your own. I also enjoy that I can bring my dog with me, since I often visit after drinks at the brewery or the ciderie next door (both of which are dog-friendly).
