We started going to Cedars back when it was located in the second floor of on old building and over an old book store. The charm and electicism has morphed into an attractive and cozy restaurant on the strip in Camp Hill. If possible, the food has continued to improve. This is, by far, the best Lebanese I have ever eaten and one of the finest "middle eastern" eateries I have ever visited. We stopped in for a Sunday lunch and enjoyed several mezze items and a few wraps. Everything as far as taste and quality was a 5+ on the star scale. Service was spectacular. The ambiance is wonderful. I tried to get my 4 year old up to dance and our server was more than happy to play the song we requested and turn up the volume just a bit. I only have two complaints. First, those dang rugs down the middle make it difficult to move chairs in and out. Second, the food is a little bit over priced for the quantity. It cost us over $60.00 for lunch and two of the people in my party of 4 are under the age of 5. However, the food is so good, I (one of the cheapest people I know) only had a little heartburn about paying $6.00 for a small bowl of lima beans with olive oil, lemon, garlic, and some spices. read more

An excellent place to grab lunch, they used to be located above the Garden Vietnamese Restautant in Harrisburg on Reily street. They had a dispute with their landlord and eventually ended up re-opening in Camp Hill. They have a great variety of ethnic lebanese foods, you can get a few different kabobs, kafta, siedieh, hummus platter, tabouleh, labne, kabis, fattoush, lemon and lentil soup. They have an option (meze) where you can select like 4 entrees for 35 dollars or 6 entrees for 55 dollars. I really dont know what I was eating until I asked them, but It turned out to be really good. Our service was great, the staff was friendly, they didnt have any lettuce for one of our entrees, so they brought out later. the owner was there chatting on his cell hpone and still it was great, he was pleasant and explained everything to us. parking was in the rear, and its located right next to the cornerstone coffee house on market street in camp hill. I have never eaten Lebanese before, but we wanted to have something either middle eastern or Mediterranean for dinner and Yelp mentioned Cedars. We arrived without a reservation and were told we could be seated if we didn't plan on staying longer than 6:45, which was fine we arrived a little before 6pm. I chose baba ganoush and we also had the falafel appetizer which came with tomato and herbs in a flavorful sauce. I enjoyed the Shish Tawook and my wife had a lamb Kabob, both were extremely flavorful with a salad that had a nice citrus/pepper dressing. I enjoyed a cup of lebanese coffee which was served in a demi-tasse similar to espresso it is rich and strong but not too much for me. I had a great time and noticed others bringing in wine and six packs as we left so the option of BYOB is an added bonus. I recommend the place it was cozy, the food was flavorful and served quickly with off street parking in the rear and right on Market Street in Camp Hill makes it easy to find. read more

Very disappointing service displayed by the ownership. Three of us in our group ordered the Lollipop Chops. When served, my husband's was burnt. He expressed this to the server but the owner refused to make him a new dish. If it was possible to leave zero stars, I would. This was the WORST experience I've ever had while dining out. So much so that we LEFT before receiving our food. Here's what happened: While we were eating our appetizer, the owner literally got into a screaming and shoving match with one of his male employees. When another female employee attempted to step in and stop it, he had no problem screaming in her face and shoving her out of the way. Plates were broken in the process. We decided this was not the type of business we wanted to support and that we did not feel safe staying. So we asked for our check to leave. We were clear with the server that "we did not want to support someone who treated their employees like that." She must have shared that piece of information with the owner because after he "saluted" us multiple times from the kitchen, he came over to our table and confronted us about why we were leaving. Let me be clear - this was not an "I'm so sorry - is there anything I can do to fix it?" His exact words were "what's wrong? Why you leaving?" And when we explained to him that we did not agree with the way he treated his employees, he raised his voice and yelled at us - "that is expected" and "YOU don't agree with how I treated them?!" The whole restaurant had their eyes on us. Absolutely the most unfortunate experience possible. I will never again patron this establishment. My first meal in a restaurant this week when I moved to town. I went Wednesday night. The place was empty which was a bit unnerving. The food, and the service, however, was very good. I had a five mezze sampler. It was not inexpensive (around $25) but it was a lot of food and I had enough to take back to my apartment and have for another dinner. The highlights were the falafel, hummus and fatoush, which is basically a tossed salad. Did not care for the fava bean dish, which was way over salted, or the yogurt based sauce, which was too thick for my liking. The pita bread was very good! This was not my first visit to this restaurant. My first was really quite pleasant. I had no issues and the food was quite good. That being said, my second experience was vastly different. The lamb kabob that was serves to my fiancé and I was just off. It was gamy, overcooked and didn't taste like lamb. We didn't make a fuss about it. We figured it was a one off since our first experience was a positive one. Just don't order the lamb next time right? As we finished up our meal, we witnessed the owner of the restaurant (who never introduced himself) speak extremely rudely to the woman who was serving us. He rashly demanded she wipe bird poop off a chair while he watched and he hands were already full. The interaction was so abrupt and revolting that it infuriated my fiancé to such a degree that she asked the owner (who didn't introduce himself when he sat down with her) to speak to her. My fiancé then told him politely that she felt really offended with the way he spoke to our server. She told him that he disrespected her and that it offended my fiancé to the upmost degree. The owners response was "but she's a waitress, that's what she's supposed to do". What the owner failed to realize is that my fiancé and I both have both been servers in the past. He had nothing to say to her besides what I described earlier. No "sorry you were offended", no customer service or care shown at all. Meanwhile, while this conversation was unfolding. I was sitting across the restaurant boxing up the (non lamb) leftovers. I could see his body language and approached the front, check in hand ready to pay the bill. I sat down and shook the owners hand (which I now regret) and he said to me verbatim "if you do decide to come back here, you can't wear that". Referencing the tank top I was wearing. I was shocked considering the content of the conversation I knew my fiancé was having. I was dumbfounded and my fiancé replied "were never coming back here". Let me make this clear. I was infuriated. There is nothing posted anywhere about a dress code and I'm an account executive who wears a 3 piece suit every day for work. We're no bums off the street and he treated us like we were privileged to be at his establishment. I've never been disrespected to that extent as a paying customer in a restaurant in my life. My family refuses to give money to anyone who would treat his staff with the disrespect that we witnessed. As we left Cedars my fiancé encouraged the waitress and told her "you don't need to work here. You deserve to be treated better than this" and with that we left. This business is just simply all wrong. The owner is frankly a joke and doesn't have respect for his staff or his paying customers. Shame on you sir. I finally made it out to this place (it's been on the to eat list a while) and I am so glad I did! 5 stars for the food, 5 stars for the service, and 5 stars for the atmosphere, everything about this place was great. To start we tried the Sanbusik - fried dumplings stuffed with beef, onion, pine nuts and spices - wow. The dumplings were cooked perfectly, I could have eaten them without the tasty stuffing inside. We also ordered the Maanek - sauteed mini sausage with lemon juice, spices,& pine nuts. These little sausages had a very unique and strong taste that was also excellent. For the main course we shared (the portions are quite generous) the Combination kebob, which came with chicken, lamb, and kefta on top of a bed of rice and fried veggies. I was really impressed, the meat was cooked just right and was oh so tender with a great combination of spices and flavor. Like I mentioned, the service inside was great, and they actually had a belly dancer wandering around which was entertaining. My aunt and I stopped in here for take out dinner. We ordered an assortment of mezzas including baba ghanouj, hummus, kibbe balls, fattoush, and tabouleh. We also ordered a few desserts. All of the food was excellent - I think the baba ghanouj was the best I've ever had! The baklava was good, definitely on the nuttier side (I've had some in my past that were heavy on honey and phyllo and light on the nuts). I greatly encourage this place for take out. You cannot go wrong when dining at CEDAR'S on Market Street in charming Camp Hill for lunch, diinner, or doing takeout. Grub hub is now an option too. You can do some local shopping in the nice shops up and down the street while you are there. We have been going to this family owned BYOB since we moved to the area from Western PA where there were a lot of Middle Eastern/Lebanese food choices. We were not disappointed. The place is colorful and inviting and the tables are cloth covered which is an unusual find in today's low to moderately priced restaurants. The food here is great, whether you are a meat eater, seafood lover or vegetarian. Lamb dishes, wraps, kabobs, hummus, grape leaves, tabbouleh, spinach pie, baba ghanoush, ful mudammas, soujak, kibbe, fattoush salad, and labneh are just a few choices on the menu. You can order a mezza platter to share and enjoy a variety of the dishes. The lentil soup with its hint of lemon and the shrimp and crab bisque are always a treat on cold winter nights. Try one of the delicious entrees. For the growing vegetarian population, CEDAR'S has so many options. My husband's new favorite is the emjadra which is mixed rice, lentils, onions and spices that is served with a yogurt sauce and a salad. I can't leave without the labneh and warm pita. You can finish your meal with authentic Lebanese coffee or tea and a nice sweet like their semolina flour honey cake called nammoura, traditional baklawa, or rice pudding with rose water and orange and pistachio. There are other dessert choices too-nice to share. The owner, family/staff are kind, helpful and attentive and we find ourselves bringing our wine/beer almost once a week to visit this charming, warm, friendly, healthy restaurant. On Friday and Saturday evenings, there is a special treat-wonderful belly dancers. It's fun to bring family/friends here anytime, but especially then. Make a reservation for those nights. In nice weather, they open the large front window or you can dine al fresco on the front patio. You can find parking in front of the restaurant on the Main Street or behind it. Don't miss this place! Stopped in here for lunch on a Sunday after discovering our usual spot, Mezza Cafe, was closed today. We were still craving some Lebanese food so I suggested to my boyfriend that we try this place out instead. Upon arriving the first thing that threw us of off was a blue curtain completely covering the dining room upon entering the building. We were very confused by it and thought maybe there was a private party going on today? But the owner gave us a look like we were stupid. So we figured at that point this was normal for this resturant. Odd. My boyfriend ordered the Gyro and I ordered the Falafel pita wrap. The place was very quiet for it being lunch time hours. There was another family in the restaurant with us at the time and she askes the owner about the freshness of the food. The owner than started raving about how he makes everything from scratch daily. Really? That seemed strange to me because he was just sitting around doing nothing after our order was places. He never once went back to kitchen to cook like he claimed he did. So our food arrived after about 10 minutes. The taste of the food was fine, average at best. But what killed the experience for us was the owner staring at us from the corner the whole time we ate our meal. The atmosphere was very uncomfortable and the service was slow unresponsive. Which to me was unacceptable being how slow it was at the time. So while there was nothing wrong with the taste of the food, the uncomfortable atmosphere probably won't bring my boyfriend and I back to this resturant anytime soon. read more

I love Cedars! I have been coming here for years. The previous owner was a bit tired so I was glad when he sold the business. I was nervous that the food would be different because we loved the food here, I was pleasantly surprised that the food was better! The falafel was not over cooked, the chicken was perfectly tender- it was a better atmosphere, real menus, and dine in! We had Cedars via DoorDash tonight and it was a winner. The lamb kabob wrap and chicken shish tawook had a great char, not Sure if they use wood or charcoal to grill their meats, but they were both delicious. Even the wraps were grilled. We also ordered the baba ghanouj, the falafel , and the hummus with meat. All three were just just scrumptious although a bit oily. I'm not averse to oil. The parsley and tomatoes on top were super fresh and fragrant.The only slight issue was some gristle in the lamb, but that is pretty normal. It was a nicely cooked medium. read more

I find it surprising that this place actually has the rating it does. I dont have anything in particular to say about it but I just wasn't impressed. The first time I went, I asked if they had Shawarma's which I always thought was a popular Lebanese food. The two times I've been there I got a gyro, it's a similar to a Shawama but at the same time, taste completely different. I guess it's my fault for not trying something different but the food was average nothing special, service wasn't to bad but could be better. The atmosphere was nice, i give it that. We, party of 10, went for a lunch to this restaurant today. Ther were abour 5 other customers(or 2 tables) in the restaurant. We ordered simple dishes you would order in a Lebanese restaurant, falafel, chicken/lamb wraps etc. It took 70 minutes for the food to come. The food was ordinary and considering the quantity, it was overpriced. No more lunches here. Its a waste of time. On the other hand, the place looked neat and classy. My wife comes from Canada that has a huge selection of Mediterranean foods. She was beginning to think she would never find a decent Lebanese restaurant around town, luckily, she found restaurants.com and a 35$ off coupon and we made a date night of it. We ordered the 10 appetizer deal and for the life of me as I write this, cannot remember almost any of the names of the dishes we ingested. All I can recall is that they were all very good. We took a good chunk of the food along with us and ate it over the next 2 days. My wife and I were among the 4 other diners that evening so the waitress was able to explain the items to us without the need to feel rushed. Good food, nice atmosphere, decent service. Cedars! So many dishes, so little time. A large group of us dined here last month. We filled ourselves on Mezza (appetizers) and followed that up with dessert. They have a deal where you select 15 different mezza dishes for $65 so our group split that up, added a few desserts to sample, and cam out of there without spending too much at all. It's BYOB which we really like as well. Service was friendly and they didn't keep us waiting. The owner came out and talked to our group for a little while. My recommended dishes?? Spinache Pie, Grape Leaves, Labneh, Hummus, Shankleesh... It was all very yummy! Plan to return to try the entrees. read more

The place has a nice decor. Very clean and spacious. My coworkers and I got gyro just to play it "safe". The gyro was alright. I would have given this place 3 stars except for them charging us extra for tratziki sauce without mentioning it to us at all. Decided on three starts for this one due to two things.. some of the mezza was just not very fresh (hummus was awfully bland) and also I have been there twice now and the only thing that gets me choosing other places in the area is the owner's behavior at Cedars. He tends to pace around, making the atmosphere somewhat uneasy and the wait staff visibly seems uneasy as well. With that aside. I am a big fan of mezza, I did enjoy the artichoke hearts, the fal, olives, flat bread, kafta and tabbouleh. Few things I will order again and a few I will avoid. read more

My Dad's family is from Lebanon; so, I've been eating Lebanese food all my life. When I first walked into Cedars, what first struck me was the aroma -- it took me back to my Grandmother's kitchen. From then, I was hooked. The owner, Mike, is a warm host with old-country charm. One of the charms of Lebanese food is how certain dishes can be made so differently. Hummus, for example, is simple yet the ratios of garlic to tahini to lemon to chickpeas constitute a signature. The hummus here is like none I've eaten before; yet, it's delicious. The selection of mezza (small plates like tapas) is extensive and the entrees are solidly reliable. The desserts are simple and rich. We were in the Camp Hill area on our way to do some winery hopping on a Sunday afternoon. Our original plan was to stop by Confit and have brunch, then be on our way. Since we don't frequent the Camp Hill area very often, it never occurred to us to make a reservation at Confit for Sunday brunch. We were turned away. My wife and I were both disappointed. We could not decide where to go so I said "let's head down Market, there's a ton of places around". We spotted Cedars across the street from Confit (sort of) and said, "let's try there". I'm glad we did. I can't say whether I've had authentic Lebanese or not. What I can say is that I like what Cedars has to offer. My wife and I started with the hummus app and it was delicious. Their pita seems to be homemade. Although it was a little on the tough side, it was delicious. For a light brunch, my wife had the Falafel wrap. She said it was very good and the tahini inside the wrap was delicious. I had the Soujok wrap, a chorizo-like, seasoned sausage. This was fantastic. I also had fries with mine and they were nice, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. What a pleasant surprise to find this little gem when it was not our original destination. It was cool on the day we were there but it would appear they open the front of the restaurant during warmer weather to accommodate outdoor dining. Others mentioned the appetizer platters. Five for 26 and 10 for 45? We saw that on the menu and that seemed to be a bit much for two people. It seems like a fantastic deal and a good way to try several different items. If we go with another couple, that might be the route we choose. One side note, they have belly-dancers here but I'm not sure when they have it. It would also appear they have an "open belly-dancer" night, similar to open-mike. That's cool. This place is worth a shot. I know my wife and I will be back sometime. read more
