The glowing reviews were intriguing. A menu with only names and no pictures meant we had to ask the waiter many questions. We settled on some hummus with fried meat on top and a Sambousek for appetizer. The hummus was lemony and very light and served with pita. The fried meat on top of it added nothing, however. The chicken sambousek was hot and very nice and would have benefitted from some sort of sauce to dip it in. The fatoush salad was ok. I had the msakaah which was a stewy eggplant served next to some dark rice served with a lentil soup. The soup was light and mild and matched the msakaah which was not going to over-spice anyone's palate. The other entree of shish tawook arrived as a ring of grilled chicken kabob chunks surrounding a bed of rice that was topped with zesty summer vegetables. It was a great presentation and was very ample in its portions and the winner of the evening. We were both very full at the end of the meal but life is short and so I ordered some namoura for dessert which was a dense cake, saturated with a honey sauce and topped with a pistachio glaze. It was a great dessert - solid and sweet but not too sweet. The ownership of the restaurant had recently changed hands which accounted for the barebones menu and hopefully that will change with some descriptions and pictures because if one is going to venture into a new cuisine, why not give future diners a 'heads up'? The first thing I want to say is that if you are driving to the location parking is at the rear of establishment (limited parking) or park on the street. The service was quick, professional and pleasant another perk that the server was very attentive. The hummus was good but the pita bread seemed hard slightly tough to chew. However, what made up for that was the delicious meal Shish Tawook (must try) with the garlic aioli (delish). I do recommend that you stop-in try for yourself because you will enjoy the entree (main course). The decor of the restaurant went well with Lebanese tradition. This is my third visit to Cedars. This time around we ordered, spinach pies, chicken gyro, fatoush salad, lamb dinner, falafel appetizer and soujak wrap. The service was attentive per usual. It still looks and smells clean. Great lunch place! All was delicious but the fatoush salad lacked some ingredients. I've had this salad in Malvern, PA and theirs is so amazing! The falafel was too mushy. I'm used to it having more of a denser grainy chickpea consistency and flavor. While it still has good flavor it just wasn't what I'm accustomed to have in a falafel. It apparently has a new chef/owner and it has gone down drastically, despite being pricey. My dining companions taboli was too salty to eat. A comfy Lebanese restaurant with cute arab decorations and pillows at the seating. They have belly dancers perform every Friday evening. The belly dancer we saw was very talented, she even danced with fire. Food wise, I've had the Shish Tawook (chicken) twice. It was consistent, and I liked that the rice has vermicelli in it. The chicken was flavorful and well seasoned, alrhough slightly on the dry side. The garlic spread tied the dish together very well. The labne was simple and a good starter. read more

Went to Cedars last night after a long absence. We didn't know the restaurant had changed owners. The food was AMAZING!! We tried 7 different dishes and 3 desserts, and each one was incredibly flavorful & cooked to perfection. The spice level was just right. We highly recommend the shish tawook, labneh, baba ganoush (best we've ever had), falafel, shish kebab wrap, sanbusik, and fattoush. Visited the newly reopened Cedars today. Oh, gosh, even yummiest than before. The baba ganoush, nice and smokey. Hummus, good. Fava beans, more fresh and side salad like than just spicy stewed beans I was expecting. Homemade grape leaves and karnabeet rounded out my mezza. Friend had the shrimp kabob, twelve huge shrimp, loads of veggies and rice. Server was pleasant, cook stopped by to check on us. Very lovely. They no longer allow BYOB, just so you know. But wow!!! The new ownership has made this restaurant absolutely amazing! In the past- we had an issue with the older owner literally yelling at us because he couldn't find our doordash order- he was a very unpleasant man. The new owner, Mike, was very kind and personally made sure we were satisfied with our food which we absolutely were. If I could give this place 10 stars I would! The food was even better than before with flavors that are more pronounced and the dessert was just unreal with huge portions. Our waiter, Lance, was also amazing! Very sweet guy who took the time to give us recommendations and just overall great personality and service. I hope they are able to take this place and make it into something wonderful and full every night because they deserve it. Just made a reservation for 11 people at this restaurant and was yelled at by this disgraceful owner for bringing chicken nuggets for my daughter who does not eat anything on the menu! Classy! The best part about it, is that we specifically spoke to the restaurant while making the reservation about brining chicken for our daughter. When we got there however, we were rudely told that we couldn't come in here with that. When we reminded them about the conversation, the female manager told me that only her and the owner answer the phones and they did not say this. But they most certainly did. I heard the owner in the back yelling at the manager 'absolutely not...it's a liability', and saying this over and over again. That doesn't even make any sense. We tried talking to them about it, but the manager just kept saying that they are the only two to answer the phone. Okay, so I guess we were making up this conversation?!?! I asked the manager no less than 6 times if I could speak with the owner and was ignored. I went back to speak to the owner and was immediately yelled out and he was screaming at me to leave. We drove 45 minutes out of our way, made reservations for this place, and again, specifically spoke with them about the chicken we were bringing for the kids. Cedar's must be your go to spot, if you are looking for Lebanese food in Camp Hill/Mechanicsburg/Harrisburg. They are now under a new management per the banner outside. This definitely shows, as I felt the service was slow. There was only one person who was taking the orders and serving, which resulted in slow service overall. Being vegetarian, we also looked forward to having Falafels, which they were unfortunately out of by the time we went for dinner at 7 pm. Ended up having some appetizers (mezas) and dessert. My daughter had chicken falafel wrap and in her own words it was super tasty, fresh and tender. My lamb kebabs were perfectly cooked and super tasty. Baklava topped with cashews and little warmed, was to die for. The oil flavor (I don't know which one) was worth finishing each tiny piece. And before I forget hummus, I don't have even words. Food is OK. Above average I'd say. Some menu items really good, some menu items .. meh. But all in all, acceptable food. Why the 1 star rating then? By far one of the least welcoming places I have EVER been to in over 20 states and 5 countries!! My part of 8 (2 families) literally got a welcoming "eye roll" the moment we stepped into the restaurant. The lady asked us (did you make a reservation?) and we said we didn't. Apparently, this was the most offensvie thing for her. Gave an eye roll and seated us reluctantly. Important note: there was only ONE out of 1 0 tables in the restaurant with people in it. Not really sure why a reservation was sk critical. Assuming these are the house rules, if she had told us that they only took reservations, we would have simply left quietly and minded our own business. No need for the unwelcoming attitude really. The rest of the night was literally STRESSFUL! The lady + the owner of the restaurant in the kitchen obviously unpleased with our presence. Nodding heads, scoffing, and eye rolling quite often. We had our kids with us (ages 7-9). They were sitting quietly watching a movie on the iPad together not doing any trouble (even if they are, this is a restaurant over the weekend, with only 2 tables seated.if you can't stand 4 well behaved kids, you shouldn't open a restaurant). Towards the end of our night, the owner stood 6 feet away from our table STARING at our kids because, in his assessment it seems, they were not sitting like statues as they should.. when I asked him why he's staring at our kids, he rudly responded (don't you see you're asking too many questions? Lentils are cheap, onions are cheap, Rice is cheap- and the few other ingredients in this couldn't have cost more than $3. Got takeout today and ordered and paid right though the Yelp app which was pretty cool. I got a lamb gyro, fries, and baklava. The gyro was wonderful. If getting take out I'd recommend getting the sauce on the side so the flatbread stays toasty but even a little soggy it was fine. The tzatziki sauce was spot on! It was creamy and cucumber-y and dropping out everywhere.. so good! The fries. Not my favorite. They were the batter dipped kind. Not my preference but not a deal breaker. The baklava was perfectly sweet and full of finely chopped pistachios which really make it for me. Service was friendly too and prompt. We started going to Cedars back when it was located in the second floor of on old building and over an old book store. The charm and electicism has morphed into an attractive and cozy restaurant on the strip in Camp Hill. If possible, the food has continued to improve. This is, by far, the best Lebanese I have ever eaten and one of the finest "middle eastern" eateries I have ever visited. We stopped in for a Sunday lunch and enjoyed several mezze items and a few wraps. Everything as far as taste and quality was a 5+ on the star scale. Service was spectacular. The ambiance is wonderful. I tried to get my 4 year old up to dance and our server was more than happy to play the song we requested and turn up the volume just a bit. I only have two complaints. First, those dang rugs down the middle make it difficult to move chairs in and out. Second, the food is a little bit over priced for the quantity. It cost us over $60.00 for lunch and two of the people in my party of 4 are under the age of 5. However, the food is so good, I (one of the cheapest people I know) only had a little heartburn about paying $6.00 for a small bowl of lima beans with olive oil, lemon, garlic, and some spices. read more

An excellent place to grab lunch, they used to be located above the Garden Vietnamese Restautant in Harrisburg on Reily street. They had a dispute with their landlord and eventually ended up re-opening in Camp Hill. They have a great variety of ethnic lebanese foods, you can get a few different kabobs, kafta, siedieh, hummus platter, tabouleh, labne, kabis, fattoush, lemon and lentil soup. They have an option (meze) where you can select like 4 entrees for 35 dollars or 6 entrees for 55 dollars. I really dont know what I was eating until I asked them, but It turned out to be really good. Our service was great, the staff was friendly, they didnt have any lettuce for one of our entrees, so they brought out later. the owner was there chatting on his cell hpone and still it was great, he was pleasant and explained everything to us. parking was in the rear, and its located right next to the cornerstone coffee house on market street in camp hill.
