Cheese Zaatar and Meat Bread
Luis D.

My wife and I had an excellent Lebanese breakfast. We enjoyed the service and the unpretentious environment. We'll be back!

Came here on a Sunday with my family and it was PACKED! In terms of ambiance, this isn't the fanciest restaurant ever, but the food makes up for that and so much more! We got a variety of their breads and pastries, everything was so good. Even their sweets, like their chocolate croissant, was really fresh and yummy. I will definitely be back!

Falafel one ( my fave)

This has been a spot that has been here for years. When I tell you this is the best middle eastern cheese pizza in town. Believe it. It's made with akawi cheese. My favorite is the falafel bread which has falafel, tomato, pickles. Parsley, and tahini. . The falafel one was $7.95. The cheese bread one was $5.35 I believe. The service is always friendly. The ambiance is old school. Reminds you of back home.

Everything is good here, even the service. Will not disappoint. It is a busy place so get there early to find parking.

Hot fresh Maneesh made to order!

So along the lines of my new culinary trend for the Middle East, another Lebanese specialty, Manaeesh. Arabic pizza, oh people this stuff is lovely. It's been going on for thousands of years, how did I not know? Soft tender flaky crust topped with one of the favorite Lebanese toppings like Za'atar, cheese, or meat. All are super yummy, hot and fresh. The place was packed by people in the know. Now go get ya some. You'll be glad you did. When you are done with your delicious Maneesh you will NEED some dessert. How convenient! Look for my review on Suzie's Pastry Shoppe.

It had great Persian vibe including music played. Food and drinks: Very good selection of traditional dishes that were not westernised as in other Persian restaurants. The food was fresh, well seasoned and was full of flavours. The meats were moist, salad and starter tasted fresh. Pinch of sumac which was available on each table was a perfect addition to our dishes. Highly recommend hot Persian tea. Pricing: $$ - very affordable for the quality and quantity of foods received.

However, we were charged for it at the end. I understand the charge itself, but no one at the table had ordered it; they just set it on the table. It would have been nice if the staff had made it clear or asked if we wanted to add it to our meal. Perhaps there was a mix up with another table. Our experience was otherwise great, but double check the menu for what is complimentary and what isn't.

It's the kind of place where you instantly feel relaxed yet excited for what's to come. The food is nothing short of exceptional. We ordered Lamb chops and shank special today. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared, with fresh ingredients and flavors that are both vibrant and comforting. You can truly taste the authenticity in every bite--whether it's the perfectly seasoned meats, the rich sauces, or the beautifully balanced sides. What really elevates the experience, though, is the service. The staff are attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what they do. We ordered calamari & baked oysters for appetizers. It was the most tender calamari I've ever had, and the flavor of the oysters was phenomenal. The scallops were melt in your mouth good, and the shrimp and red fish were delicious. We ended with baklava to celebrate my birthday. Not only did it taste amazing, but after singing to me, nearly the entire staff, including the owner, came over to personality wish me a happy birthday. My recent visits here consisted of a Gyros Plate with rice, Hamburger with uncut tomatoes n pickles…read more& lemon potatoes and Greek Spaghetti Meat Sauce on Sunday Special. All 3 meals were really flavorful, good quality, really well-seasoned, very juicy and so delicious. The gyros and burger are without question imo the best in TX. Ekko's and Nick The Greek are 2nd n 3rd for Greek food for me. I always got the gyros sandwich as opposed to the plate before which is odd bc I always prefer meat plates over sandwich form in other foods like bbq, steak, etc. The meat pieces were all really tasty and had some slight char to them too. The taziki sauce is always cold, creamy in feel and refreshing with a good yogurt aroma to it. It's a great bonus and the gyros didn't even need it tbh. The tomatoes were nicely refreshing and the exotic, cool center dolma is always a little treat with meals here. The rice and chunky lemon potatoes with my meals were always mild but still great in texture and prep. As I said before; from my experiences in every single Greek cafe, if the taziki sauce is good, the gyros will be too. It's a solid symptom and indicator imo. As for the burger, very rarely are burger places only in TX actually any good for the past 15 years. So many are just average or below lacking seasoning or a great overall flavor. Niko Niko's, Goode Company Hamburgers and TX Hamburger Palace are my top 3 in that order for it. Each different too. The brioche buns were just the right thickness and very soft to make the beef patty stick out well. The patty was so nice in charbroiled taste, saltiness, richness, beefiness and tender in every bite. A good burger doesn't need much in toppings, but cool, refreshing, tomatoes are a must for me and pickles add some tangy crunch too. For steak rare, but for a burger medium to medium rare. I had never seen or heard of their Greek Spaghetti n Meat Sauce before. This was like a Greek Bolognese with a lot of love in its flavor. The noodles were drained, very moist and so soft. I don't like too much cheese, so I took some off, but still like some. The meat sauce gravy itself was really flavorful, savory, fatty enough and had that subtle sweet, warm spice aroma you get in the Greek lasagna. I like to get dessert here sometimes when I have extra room, bc they have some great options like their galaktobourreko, chocolate ganache cake, etc. The service was very welcoming, friendly and efficient on these visits.

We got the gyro sandwich, gyro plate with fries, and mille feuille dessert. I thoroughly enjoyed my gyro sandwich. The pita was very fragrant, and the meat was good. The fries were fine. They have a lot of desserts on display, and we got the mille feuille, which was a super flaky cake-appearing pastry that gave more baklava vibes once we dug into it. The friendly employee told us that he gained a significant amount of weight from eating it. It was very dry and crusty with cold cream interspersed within the layers. It crumbled all over the table (we cleaned it up). It seemed like a unique dessert that was nice to try, but I don't think either of us liked it that much, and we didn't end up finishing it. The gyros were great though.

I love Mediterranean food - it feels like a healthier option, but still super satisfying. The place itself is casual but has a nice enough atmosphere that it feels like a little treat every time we go. There's a big front patio where you can smoke hookah, and it's always buzzing with people. I've even noticed a lot of people working on their laptops out there. The whole vibe is just really chill. We have our go to order: hot green tea with honey. Idk why I love it so much but I swear it just hits different here. Maybe it's the cute little pot they serve it in. For food, we usually start with an appetizer and split the mixed shawarma plate. This last time we shared a Greek salad as an appetizer. Fresh and delicious as always. One of our sides was the baba ghanoush, which was incredible. Dont get me started on the pita it comes with....Warm, soft, and fresh. It takes everything in me not to demolish the whole basket. For our other side, we always get the potatoes. They're perfectly seasoned with a slight sweetness and a little kick. Hands down my favorite side dish here! The portions are generous too. For me and my boyfriend (who can definitely eat), splitting this is always enough to fill us up. I also have to shout out the service because it's consistently great. Even when it's packed and there's just one waiter, everything flows smoothly. Safe to say we'll keep coming back!

The only two entrees I could see were a falafel plate and a cheese pida for vegetarians. I opted for the the cheese pida and a salad as I felt like my dinner needed some vegetables. The salad was plain tasting consisting of a lemon based dressing and cubes of tomato, cucumber, bell pepper. The dressing was not strong and I wished it had more flavor. I took it home and added my own dressing from home the next day. It's unfortunate that they charge an additional $1.50 for feta cheese which would have elevated the salad flavor. The cheese pide was good and a very large portion size. I wish there were some vegetables added however. The dough was delicious. Istanbul grill does make good bread. The pita bread was also good, very soft, and tasted fresh. It was busy on a Saturday night. Decor is minimal inside and ambiance was family friendly. Most of the tables were families with children. I will note that the interior was on the warmer side for a November night. Overall likely would not return just because of limited vegetarian food.
