Very cute and very tasty. Love that they do real boiled bagels right in Camas. Their sandwiches are fantastic, I usually get the roast beef (The Jack). Lots of toppings and always fresh. Cedar Street keeps it simple and does bagels well. The shop is cute and spacious in the heart of downtown Camas. Street parking is easy. The major draw for me is that they have gluten free bagels. Everything was so good that I came back two days after my first visit. I had the Cuban sandwich for lunch one day (delicious pork, kinda messy but great flavor) and a sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on my second visit. The food is tasty. The staff is friendly and helpful. There's even a special deal for take home bagels if you come in at the end of their day. The staff is very fast and friendly. The interior is spacious with beautiful wood and bright windows. I couldn't find a trash can except for a tiny one by the coffee. The coffee is VERY HOT. I am thankful for the vegan options (they have an egg and sausage option as well as homemade vegan cc). The homemade tofu cashew cc was impressive. The bagels however ... not so much. Gluten free dairy free review: We stopped at Cedar Street Bagel for some yummy bites and loved that they have gluten free and dairy free options. My daughter loved her bagel. I called in advance to ask if I can pre-order green bagels for a St Patrick's event and the guy on the phone said no problem. I confirmed twice as I know it's not a frequent request. I show up today and they give me regular bagels, lady didn't know what to say. On top of that, bagels are hard and thrown in a paper bag, that I was told is about to rip. I want to support small businesses but you have to do your part to make people want to come back. Disappointed and will drive out of my way to go to Seize the Bagel next time. read more

I was driving home from dropping coworkers off at PDX and randomly decided Camas is where I wanted breakfast. This place popped up and I thought a bagel wouldn't be as heavy as a full on breakfast. First off Camas is cute, this place is just as cute. It's bright and clean. They had so many options, I am a lox fan so as soon as I saw that I knew what I was getting. The lemon wedge added just the right touch to the cucumbers, capers, pickled onions, and lox. It was so tasty and fresh. The bagel was chewy and just toasted enough. I'm not sure about it being a jalapeño bagel though, it did not pack any heat which I didn't miss with all the other layers of flavor. I will definitely stop by again when down in the Vancouver/Portland area. read more

I apologize for taking a bit to post this review. A couple of months ago, I decided to stop in and get some bagels for meetings I was having at work. I was so distracted by a conversation about their lavender tea and how it sells out, etc., that I left my three containers of cream cheese on the counter. I left with my bagels and tea and got to work before I realized what I had done. It was not the person at the counters fault, it was my own. She was already helping the person waiting behind me. And I thought I had grabbed everything I needed. Anyway, I called when I got to work to explain what I had done. I went in a couple of weeks later and reminded the sweet person behind the counter as to what I had done on my last visit. I heard her say to someone in the back "she is here." We chatted about my previous oversight and they made everything right. Please understand, they didn't have to, because it was my mistake. But they made everything right and even gave me free samples of their fresh strawberry cream cheese which was amazing. To summarize, this is a wonderful independent business. Their food is amazing, their service one of a kind. This is why we need to support small buisnesses. Great people and great products, serving their community every day. read more

I heard about this place, making up New York style bagels. Now, I'm not a bagel connoisseur, and I don't know what constitutes a New York Bagel. But, I do know what I like in a bagel, and Cedar Street has the goods. The bagels were thick and doughy, heat cooked to perfection and didn't lack any toppings. We had the triple bogey on a wild cheddar. That is basically a mound of three different meats, with cheese. We also got an everything bagel with cream cheese. They put so much cream cheese on it and it was perfect. The cold brew coffee came with coffee ice cubes, which was a nice touch. I approve of this effort to extend the buzz. When we went in, it was after a race in Camas, so I think they were a little swamped by the amount of people. It took a little while to get ordered, but the food was out pretty quickly. The location is nice as well. I guess parking could be tricky if it's busy on down, but we didn't end up having any issues. The location was nice clean. The shop is smaller but you can still find a seat to enjoy your food. read more

Hooray, they have 2 kinds of gluten-free bagels: plain & everything! And they have vegan cream cheese, made from tofu & cashews, so if you need to avoid either of those, steer clear. We popped in for a quick breakfast sammie before a day of hiking in the area. The Hubs had a sesame bagel with egg, cheese & ham, and I had a gluten-free everything bagel with egg, cheese & the "garden" add-on option to add avocado spread, cucumber, tomato, onion & arugula. Both sammies were quite good and were ready fairly quickly. The gluten-free bagel was far superior than any store-bought kinds I've tried. The young lady at the counter was very kind and helpful, and exuded a bubbly spirit which was a nice way to start off our day. I look forward to coming back to try their lunch sammies, and might up them another star after a future visit. read more

I am in downtown Camas Washington and I see there is a business called Cedar Street bagels I am so intrigued. I walk inside and there it is a lovely lox and cream cheese sliced red onion and caper topped bagel. Not only is it delicious to look at it tasted great too! This is a comfortable little shop, very tidy and clean, counter service is friendly, I think there must be an owner onsite regularly because this place is consistently spot on. Very nice array of bagels to choose from, Day olds as well. They offer a nice selection of shmears too. I have ordered coffee from here and I do not recall the brand but it is adequate. Parking is not an issue it is on Street, prices are in line with other shops in the area. read more

Concur with Jeffery H review of Cedar St Bagels. 20 years ago I owned a "boiled" bagel store so I understand the biz, but continued to be disappointed with Cedar. Quality is pretty good (they have resolved their under-baked issue) but pricing is too high, especially when ordering a Baker's Dozen. Concur with others comments about not having enough bagels on hand. Have walked in 4 times before 11 am to find a scant selection left with no intention of baking more. They have not figured out the concept of selling day-old bagels at a 50% profit margin or a 2 day-old bag of bagel chips for a 300% profit margin. And what about "bagel dogs"? They just don't get it. Looks like I am heading back into Portland for my "boiled" bakers dozen bagels...and I live in Camas... sad read more

Torn about 3 stars, but as others have pointed out, if you hit any time later than 9am, what you'd like is probably not to be had. Possible solutions: 1. Drop your bottom 3 bagels and up the par on your most popular selections by half again (at least) 2. Create a 'signature' bagel for your sandwiches, something tasty... Look at your daily sales and par accordingly; create demand. Want the cheddar bacon bagel? It's the base for all our sandwiches...and available in the case on our slowest day only... 3. What a fun new addition to Downtown Camas! I stopped in one morning after a run down by the river and got a chance to check it out. I ordered my own custom breakfast bagel sandwich which was stuffed with egg, avocado, cheddar cheese and bacon. The bagel I chose was the oat and wheat option which was very dry, along with the rest of the sandwich. I'm not sure if it's because of the bagel I chose, but the wheat bagel was so dense it took away from the flavors of everything else in the sandwich. I had ordered a coffee which helped tone down the breadiness. I was a little disappointed with my choice, but I wouldn't hesitate to stop by again and try something else. It's brand new and has a cute vibe to it, so I imagine they will improve as they get more established. read more

No change in rating for now. In regards to Issue #3 - I visited the store and purchased bagels and was pleased to find that the bagels are now more properly baked; not so pale anymore. With regards to Issue #2 - they have added a "Poppyseed-Onion" mixed bagel, both of those ingredients inside the dough. This is closer to providing the staples, but these are not separate Onion and separate Poppyseed bagels. Garlic is still completely missing. One additional note, the base dough they are using is not very flavorful. It isn't bland, but could benefit (to improve the perception of artisanal - if that is what they are going for) by adding something to the base dough: - perhaps a touch of molasses (not to make it sweet, just to enhance it; like salt on food, or a touch of sweetness in tea). This will bring out the flavor a little more. If they already have this ingredient, perhaps a touch more. - alternatively, or in combination with the above, add a sourdough starter. Speaking more to the Cedar Street Bagel bakers... if you wish to establish a proper baseline, consider going to the East coast and taste a plain bagel from a shop such as Brueggers bagels, in Boston or New York. (NOT the West coast variant, but authentic, East coast). Not for the purpose of replicating their product, but to understand the subtle detail of flavor. read more

First of all everyone is very nice here so this is just a review of the bagels. Who does not want a good bagel place near them, especially in Camas. When I heard there was a bagel spot I was beyond excited and looked forward to a morning ritual I could start between me and Cedar Bagel. Unfortunately the bagels here are not special at all and in fact lack flavor and freshness. Perhaps it's water or perhaps it's the recipe but I would not go here for bagels. The only place I have found to have good NYC bagels is Bentleys Bagels in Portland ... if you have been there then you know what's up. Not sure they can do anything about fixing the bagels except stating from scratch with a new recipe and methodology. read more
