What a great middle-eastern grocery!! It's not large, but it's very clean and the variety of ingredients and spices on offer is jaw-dropping!! There's also a kitchen so you can order a shawarma to go - the hummus is AMAZING!!! The staff are friendly and helpful!! If you have a recipe you've been tching to try - this is the place to go to gather what you need!! The pita bread is the super thin kind - yummy11 read more

I got delivery and this is definitely not my fav place for shawarma or middle eastern. The chicken shawarma was decent and I enjoyed the pickles. The grape leaves were yummy and tangy. The taziki sauce was perhaps the worst I've ever had. Perhaps they gave me tahini sauce by accident because that's how it tasted. The lentil soup, however, was missing some acidity and tasted bland. The chickpea salad was meh and lacking flavor. I'll stick to Jasmine grill on south blvd read more

I will be honest, never heard of this place until I saw them pop up on the Too good To Go app, so figured no better time to try them than a discounted meal. I walk in and was greeted by the friendly employee behind the counter. Very cute little grocery store/restaurant serving international food. I checked out the grocery side while I wanted on my meal to be fixed. They had so many items, ones I admit I didn't quite know what they were but that's the beauty of it all lol. Anyways my food comes up, and let me tell it was delish! So flavorful and fresh! It was so good I had to go back the next day. And believe me when I say I'm gonna keep going back. Great experience. read more

A unique combination of grocery store and restaurant, allowed us to browse the aisles while waiting for our food. We took the employee's suggestion to order several items and enjoy them family-style was spot-on, allowing us to sample a wide range of flavors in one sitting. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the grilled mix platter, which featured lamb chops, beef shawarma, and kebobs. We were pleasantly surprised by the soujouk, a dish we were unfamiliar with, but found to be incredibly tasty. One minor drawback was the parking lot had limited space and tight parking spots. Otherwise, good food at a reasonable price. read more

You may skip it just because it is not a fancy restaurant, then that will be the biggest mistake from you! Lamb on the rice is definitely the best of the best lamb! So soft and just melted in the mouth! Amazing good! Everything is great, but eat at the store seems not the best choice! Take out and enjoy it at home or Freedom park when weather is cool will make it even better, definitely will come again and again! read more

Absolutely disgusting restaurant. Worst food I've ever had. The meet was mostly bone and looked like it was rotten.

Found this place off a delivery site and it did not disappoint! The flavor profile was just the right amount of spice. It was easy to taste all parts of each dish. We ordered the Kabob Shawarma (beef) Wraps, Fava Beans, and the Chickpea Salad. The only reason I rated a 4 instead of a 5 is they forgot to add the pita, but we made do with some wraps we had on hand. Plan to try some other things out here in the future. Bonus: you're supporting a small business and we need to keep those around in this city! read more

Delicious food and great service. The husband really enjoyed the shawarma and I loved the hummus!

I rarely write a negative review about a place, but I'm giving 2 stars instead of 0 because the receptionist was courteous and the store had good selection of spices. However the restaurant was pretty bad. Manakeesh were made with some cheese sprinkled over Greek pita and then heated over the grill, no real manakeesh dough, seriously!!! The shawarma was dry and tasteless. I hope the owner can read this so he can fix up, no hard feelings. read more

Found this place through the Too Good To Go app. Ordered the bag that was supposed to have $21 worth of food. Received rice, wilted salad, and 1 drumstick and 1 very small thigh. Food was flavorful and hot. Also shopped a little but while I waited. I was disappointed in the amount of food since their website says for 1/2 chicken meal it was $17.99 and I certainly didn't get even half a chicken. read more

Excellent food. Don't let the location or the outside keep you away. Parking can be challenging.

The door directly into the dining area is never open so don't break your arm trying to open it like I almost did. But do walk in through the grocery store and make sure to greet the staff and you can take a seat in one of the red booths and they will wait on you. The food is good quality. The presentation is not spectacular, but there are few other places in town where you can get a $3 falafel sandwich that tastes this good. Other items are also extremely reasonably priced. Their sandwiches are pita wraps but satisfyingly filling. Ideal for lunch or a quick meal to go. Get the hummus or falafel appetizer for something extra to keep you going. read more

Our entire order was horrendous, completely inedible; we threw out $55 worth of food. It was that bad.

Will not disappoint. So incredibly good. Everything was great and fresh. I feel like the picture speaks for itself. Best prices and variety. Great, honest people run this place. Try the kafta sandwich!

Very bad the best person of corse left never come here the food was good and had a lot but now it's bad and they made the food smaller

Delicious, authentic Lebanese food! I got the tzatziki, hummus, grape leaves, samosas, and spinach pie.

Mediterranean grocery store with olive stand, fresh food to-go [NOTE: according to other reviews this might not be the case as of February, I would recommend calling ahead to confirm!] and sweet treats case [baklava included!] I stopped into Cedar Land recently and immediately had a positive feel from the store. You'll find everything from spices to peach nectar to a case full of baklava-esk treats! You can fill up on olives by the pound and choose from a variety of pita breads, honey's, tahini's and imported sweets! The owner was friendly and the store was laid out in a manner that was easily navigated while not being overly large. This seems to be a great option if you're looking for a product that you wouldn't find in an average grocery store. read more

My food was nasty I also bought blackseeds oil price tag says $3.99 but was charged $ 5.49 I was told the price tag may say one thing but the register said another and if I don't like it I don't have to shop there. Delicious restaurant. We usually get the hummus, falafel and mixed grill plate with grilled chicken and keftas. It's consistently good. Excellent service and the owner is very friendly and welcoming. The store is also well stocked with middle eastern specialties - spices, mixes, frozen food section, olive bar and our favorite, fresh pastries. If there is a special ingredient you need for a middle eastern recipe, they are sure to have it. For example, I found the pomegranate molasses I needed for a Kisir recipe. It's definitely no-frills, but it doesn't need to be. read more

The takeout food here is really good, and it's definitely a go-to for me! I've tried a lot of things (including lamb, beef, chicken -- including kebabs) and all of the meat is good. And the saffron rice and salad is excellent as well. A really reliable takeout choice. When my kids insist, I sometimes get them Taco Bell from around the corner. But it's always Cedar Land for me. read more

I don't like the shawarma I ordered it was dry and cold the chicken was so bad and the fries was so bad cold and not fresh normally the fries comes with shawarma. I tried two different food but each one was worse than the other they didn't deserve even a star read more

This is a neat little spot with good authentic food. My husband ordered roasted chicken with salad and rice. He originally wanted Lamb Chops but they said all they had was chicken. He asked about Kibbeh but they responded "yea if you want it frozen". Not very good with customer service. My husband loves Lebanese food and was excited to try this place. But when the staff is rude, that doesn't help much. I get it. Sometimes you run out of food but if you're rude about it... that makes YOU look bad. We also ordered some Baklava. It was decent. It's all we managed to take a picture of. I didn't think of it until it was too late. When we walked in, the establishment was dirty. That's the main reason for the 3 stars. Lost one star for not being friendly and another for the area being unsanitary. I'm not against trying this place again in the future. read more

I used to go to this place all the time. Like literally all the time. But then I moved away for school and life in general so I haven't been back in years. Until now. It is still SO GOOD. The shawarma sandwiches are my favorite. The chicken with rice is also very good and the salad is super tasty. I can't believe it's been so many years since I've been back but you can bet I'll continue returning now whenever I'm in the area! They offer catering as well. Definitely recommend. read more

Everything on the menu is prepared perfectly seasoned and presented well. This is true for the salads, lentil soup, and the entrees. Since becoming a vegetarian over 2 1/2 years ago, there are still a wide variety of appetizers, salads, and entrees to choose. My favorite entree has been The Cedars Fish which is served with a generous portion of saffron rice. In fact, all items are generous and the hungriest of diners will leave satisfied. The selection of drinks is excellent, whether you want something cold or hot (if it's a coffee that suits you). The service is wonderful and very accommodating. Food is brought promptly and you're treated with the utmost respect. If you're in the mood to bring food items home, the establishment boasts a wide assortment of items. Should you need assistance in the most appropriate item to meet your needs, there are always people there to render their opinions. Cedarland has been my favorite restaurant for many years. I'm always greeted warmly and treated as family--a rare quality in many establishments, unfortunately. I know each time I dine there, I'll never leave disappointed. I always leave with the mindset of looking forward to returning in the near future for my next delicious meal. read more

Oh man, four words: homemade stuffed grape leaves. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE canned ones too (there are maybe 5-6 brands here to choose from, if you'd rather) but of all the falafel shops I've frequented, I've never had homemade. Exciting. Falafel is tasty, if a bit small (every city has their own style, it's interesting to me that Charlotte's is the roll-up rather than the pita-stuff) so make sure to grab one of their sides: tabouleh, babaganoush, and homemade samosas (!) all make me very happy. A drink, sammich and side will run you about 8 bucks. Also of note: huge jars of pickles run about 5 bucks (a steal) and the olive bar is terrific. It's on the floor. Don't be skeered. Another first for me: a rack of pre-made Injera. Awesome! read more

This place seems to be a really well kept secret. I've driven past it a ton of times and never really noticed it. Well I finally stopped in and I have to say that it is a really nice place, although it's kind of small. The staff is super friendly and the service is really good for only having two people to run both the grocery store and restaurant. The food is great and you can't beat the price. I loved the lamb and rice, it was just so tender and perfect. read more

Before I was vegetarian, I visited Cedarland at least once a week for their Shawarma Baladi. Wow. That was one great sandwich. One I definitely recommend to you meat eaters out there! I'm not a big fan of their falafel or their stuffed grape leaves (I much prefer Middle East Deli which I think changed it's name last year for both of these items). However, I do prefer Cedarland for their turkish coffee. I've had it all over Charlotte, and I do believe it's my favorite here. I always get a whole pot for the best taste. I also love shopping in the grocery store for various items! And the olives here are super cheap and delicious! read more

Bad news, folks. I must have gone on an "off" night...all the other reviews are so positive. What the heck?! First of all, I was very impressed by the store. They carry everything Middle Eastern! I got lost among their products and I wanted to buy and try everything. My husband spent some time in Syria when he was little and when he saw the dried apricot paste, he was flooded with positive memories. Also, if you are looking for injera, they have it! So now for the bad news...my experience was opposite than the other reviewers. We ordered the veggie plate and tried all 8 different sides. The grape leaves were small, smushy, and stuffed with salt (or that is how it tasted). The spinach pastry was hard and difficult to eat. The hummus, tabouli, and baba ghanoush were fine. I'm not new to Middle Eastern food and I've tried it a lot, so I feel fairly confident in saying that this had to have been the most unsatisfying and disappointing Arabic meal that I have eaten. However, one redeeming aspect was the falafel...it was good. The staff were very friendly and the seating area was clean. I would return to go shopping there, but I would not order anything to eat. Go to support the store and to find great Arabic products, but eat at your own risk. read more

So far, this is the best middle eastern I've tried in Charlotte. I ordered the veggie plate where I had a choice of 4 different veggie items listed. I ordered hummus, baba ganouj, grape leaves, and falafel. They were all delicious. Be sure to ask for some garlic sauce. It makes all the difference. This is also a small grocery store so I purchased some feta cheese. OMG. It was so salty and different from what I get at a restaurant. Friendly service and friendly place. read more

Being from charlotte and an active member in the arab community, I knew the owners growing up. My father and he were best friends when they came to the states. I would go there all the time to pick up any kind of groceries and when they opened the restaurant part up I loved it even more. My friends and I would go every friday for lunch, I would get fresh, hand slaughtered halal (kosher) meats and all the trimming for HEALTHY home cooking. Friday afternoon is the best day because they have a special dish they "only" serve on friday around noonish until maybe 3 called "Briyani." I love all the food there but that dish in particular is absolutely delicious. If your into the Middle-Eastern foods or want to learn how to cook like us or are looking for a vegetarian meal that isn"t tofu (uck), I would most definitly recommend it to judt about everyone. read more

I ordered a second time after a bad experience there a while back... it was a bad idea. The food was disgusting. I ordered the "shawarma arabi" with fries and it was gross. tasted bad.
