    Chicken Kebab Sandwich
    Rena G.

My brother-in-law recommended this place to us after his Iraqi co-worker introduced this place to him. So, as we say in Hawaii, the "coconut wireless" is getting around. If ever in the area, I highly suggest stopping in and trying the kebab sandwiches. I ordered the chicken, my husband had the beef, and my brother-in-law got the spicy beef. It took about 15 minutes to receive our food (just enough time to peruse around the shop and the Mexican market next door). The sandwiches are served hot in freshly baked in-house samoon (bread). Along with your protein of choice, the pita-like pocket sandwich is stuffed with diced tomatoes, chopped lettuce and a white cream sauce, which I think was yogurt (as I am unfamiliar to this type of cuisine). At first bite, I knew that the food was definitely worth waiting for. Now, I can't wait for my next visit to venture out and try some of their other menu options. Oh, and if you're not keen to sampling Iraqi cuisine, I noticed that they had a burger and fries option on the menu, too. So, stop by and check this place out! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They're really friendly with a family-like vibe here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Grocery. Middle Eastern, food to go,

It's a very small grocery store, with hot food to go as well. We had chicken taj (similar to kabob), samosa (beef filled), & some kind of flat bread with cheese spread. Everything was good. Friendly people. Butcher is in the rear. You can buy freshly made bread as well. They're diamond shaped.

    Hummus and Falafel

I've had lots of Shawarma, but this is the best. The bread is unbelievable, the chicken is perfectly seasoned, the sauces, the hummus, the falafel, etc. etc... this place rules. I've had great service here, and it's a really nice little shop. I have a hard time imagining that I'll find a better spot for Shawarma anywhere else.

Samoons, beef shawarma over rice, chicken shish kebabs over rice

You won't regret trying the food here. This place caught my eyes since it reminded me of an Indian food/market that I frequent back home. It felt really authentic from the reviews and it did not disappoint! Samoons are definitely the star here. I would definitely go back for those. It's a pillow-y heaven of a bite and it goes so well with their hummus (which they add some sambal into which is genius). I also recommend the chicken shish kebabs - a lot of flavor. Very nice staff. I called ahead and the lady on the phone answered all my questions politely and the food was ready just in time when we got there. I also really enjoy that you can buy each item by piece - you can get the samoons individually (60 cents each) or by bag (comes with 15) ; you can get shish kebabs by piece too. Overall, a delightful experience and will definitely be coming back!

At this point I've tried a number of things here and every one of them were delicious! The Japanese pancakes were so fluffy and fun, called ahead just to make sure they could make them right after opening but couldn't get through. THEY CALLED ME BACK IMMEDIATELY!! I have never had a food place care enough to actually call back if they miss a call. I was so happy with the pancakes too, nicely made and yummy. Their tiny cakes are all perfect too, I'm in love with each one especially the PDX rose! So bright and flavorful, with a beautiful outside that matches its taste! Can't forget the Japanese Cream Cheese Bun, it's soooooo good and the price matches the taste (aka good price for a good dessert). Not too sweet but still delicious! Just gotta make sure you eat it fresh, forgot to eat my last one for an hour and it got dry but still had its yummy taste. I super recommend this place!!

I added breakfast to this place while they visited me for a few days. We called in our order as instructed on the website. Unfortunately no Boba was available for on the pancakes. When we arrived I was disheartened to find the place rather small either intense heat of a bakery, which made the lone table inside with a meandering fly the least bit welcoming. When adding drinks to our order, the lone man working there asked me a few times whether I really was ordering coffee for a child (and yes, she settled on a mocha when it was determined he only knew how to sprinkle matcha powder on the pancakes, and hadn't a clue as to their application to drinks). My grandson ordered their 'special hot chocolate' which pretty much tasted like watered-down Ovaltine. We sat outside to eat and after a few bites and finding these were nothing like the fluffy Japanese pancakes they'd expected, we threw away $44 worth of what was supposed to be a pleasant breakfast experience. I guess this was a life lesson for the kids, that our expectations aren't always met. And I want to prevent any other adults from making the same mistake I did in taking my business there!

I thought we'd go there for some to-go, and hubby found a parking spot, just around the corner, in the shade. As he was turning right, I also spotted a 'bakery' written on the window. I was thinking of waiting for him, in the car, and just grab a chicken sandwich. But, after he left, I decided to go inside the bakery to browse. He was standing at the corner, reading the menu of the shop, when I called him to 'Come over here!' I didn't know what I just walked in. Ooddles & oodles of cookies, cakes, pastries, sandwiches, like a one-stop bakery, cafe to-go. I started to take a video, of the whole shop, but sadly, as I turned it off, I realized I was just turning it ON! Instead of buying one sandwich for each of us, we ended up buying 4 of our 'look scrumptious' pastries that could fill us up. (Photos are not good quality, because I thought I was video-taping it. That's the result!) We each shared everything! We both agreed, it was probably one of the best lunches we've eaten. The pastry were still warm, the cheese in our ham was melting in your mouth. The spinach was just out of the oven. Everything was just wonderful! We will surely stop by here again, and buy twice as much, should last us a week. But maybe at the end of the day they don't look towards the door or maybe the tea was just too good to stop chatting about. Either way, hope they get trained to know when customers are lined up and ready to buy that they should try to get them taken care of so that lines don't form behind them.

I don't understand how it's possible for this creation to remain crispy even though it's stored at room temperature instead of the more usual warming lamps. The curry is thick and has generous chunks of beef and vegetables. The bread isn't really "donut" per se since that brings to mind something sweet with a tender crumb.
