My brother-in-law recommended this place to us after his Iraqi co-worker introduced this place to him. So, as we say in Hawaii, the "coconut wireless" is getting around. If ever in the area, I highly suggest stopping in and trying the kebab sandwiches. I ordered the chicken, my husband had the beef, and my brother-in-law got the spicy beef. It took about 15 minutes to receive our food (just enough time to peruse around the shop and the Mexican market next door). The sandwiches are served hot in freshly baked in-house samoon (bread). Along with your protein of choice, the pita-like pocket sandwich is stuffed with diced tomatoes, chopped lettuce and a white cream sauce, which I think was yogurt (as I am unfamiliar to this type of cuisine). At first bite, I knew that the food was definitely worth waiting for. Now, I can't wait for my next visit to venture out and try some of their other menu options. Their french fries are the traditional variety, crisp without greasy coatings. They serve all the popular mid-east dishes you might expect from an Iraqi fast food purveyor. Call your order in to avoid hanging around in close quarters with other patrons buying bags of large pitas both white and whole wheat, bags of freshly made oblong pitas and many other items packed into this little gem. It's a very small grocery store, with hot food to go as well. We had chicken taj (similar to kabob), samosa (beef filled), & some kind of flat bread with cheese spread. Everything was good. You won't regret trying the food here. This place caught my eyes since it reminded me of an Indian food/market that I frequent back home. After my move from Dallas, Texas. I did not know where would be a place that sells legit Iraqi food. I drove by the store on multiple occasions and wondered what they sell inside. I decided to go in on a weekend one time and I realized that they sell sandwiches and Iraqi fresh out of oven bread. I tried their falafel and shawarma sandwiches and both were super delicious. They tasted as if I was getting them from a place in Baghdad, Iraq. The service is always nice. The store is ran by the owner and his family. They are always super polite and professional. They always ask questions for clarification and make sure that they provide feedback on their items. Since the summer of 2020, I have been going there on a regular basis. Most of my coworkers that I introduced them to the store have been going regularly. We go there for their food and have not been disappointment over the past few years. The prices are very reasonable, which is one of the main reasons why we continue to go back. The vibe is good. However, anticipate some waiting as they cook everything after you order it.
