When I finally arrived, I was greeted by a huge, friendly dog inside and a really cool welcoming brother and sister running the show. I was taken on a tour of the facility and given some cool history on why they got into the distilling business and how their process works. They are a complete grain to bottle operation. They grow the grain, age the liquor, and bottle it all inside their bottle and bond facility. Pretty cool!! The finished product is very smooth. My main reason for coming was to try their 100 percent sweet corn bourbon. If you know about bourbon, that's pretty unheard of. I was skeptical and then pleasantly surprised. The finished product was VERY smooth with a well-balanced sweetness and a nice bite. It was definitely a unique flavor, nothing like traditional bourbon, but I enjoyed it ALOT. It was a really good bottle. With that being said, there was a premium price tag to go with it. 175.00 was for the small batch and 3 something for the single barrel needless to say. I got the small batch, lol. I also enjoyed a flight which included their sourghom whiskey(cannonball, which was deliciously smooth as well. I didn't care for the regular corn whiskey it was the closest to some serious backyard moonshine lol. I would definitely take a trip they are always having cool events they are a working farm they have an annual bbq competition that seems pretty cool. #FoodieRunner approved

We love that they walk you through all the ingredients and even give you recipe cards so you can try to make it at home. Somehow it's never quite the same when we make it ourselves, which is exactly why we keep coming back to enjoy it firsthand. We've also done the tour multiple times, and it's always a great experience--very informative and well done. The tastings along the way are a lot of fun and just add to the overall experience. Great drinks, great staff, and always worth the stop.

When people think of whiskey in Indiana's Brown County, they might think of that other place. (You…read moreknow the one.) But there is another distillery quietly making small-batch, high-quality spirits in Nashville, and that's Bear Wallow Distillery. Located just outside of downtown Nashville, Bear Wallow Distillery is one of the only female-owned distilleries in the country. They create their spirits in a traditional copper pot still, which I learned is unique. Inside the tasting room, you can enjoy a whiskey tasting or a flight, or sip a craft cocktail and relax in the shop. I chose to enjoy a "Call Me Old Fashioned" standing up at the bar, while chatting with the guy who made me my drink. My Old Fashioned was well balanced, not too sweet and made me feel all warm inside, as a good Old Fashioned should. Those who are interested in learning more about the whiskey-making craft can go on a Farm-to-Fifth Tour, which takes you behind the scenes to learn about the history of whiskey and see the full production process. I did, and I found it very informative! I had a new appreciation for the kind of whiskey and spirits they are making here at Bear Wallow Distillery. From the ingredients they choose to the barrels they use, they really put their foot in it, as they say. If you like whiskey, or just like to try local spirits, this is a good place to visit in Nashville.

Some of THE best tasting gin that I've had. I purchased a bottle that day. Delicious. Anything with lemongrass I feel I need. Haha Our bartender was attentive, engaged in convo and was respectful. Took a friend some weeks later to try the gin. She too loved it. And we are now big fans of their coffee liqueur. I will definitely be back.

When you walk in, the place (at least the immediate area you see) has the vibe of more of a cocktail lounge or cozy neighborhood bar. The service was great - I had a great time drinking and hanging with the bartender and other patrons (Casey and James). I had just finished dinner across the way and wasn't ready to head back to my hotel yet (tourist visiting for the weekend). Came here to grab a pour of their whiskey. Ended up ordering the peated bourbon, which I thought was tasty and not overly peated or too strong of peat flavor. What I thought was a quick drink, turned into hanging out with the folks here talking about football mainly. There are TVs here so college football was on as well. Having a drink here and meeting the folks here will be one of my more fond memories of this Indy trip.

It's warm, inviting, and thoughtfully laid out whether you're there for a relaxed drink or a lively night out. The cocktail menu is always evolving, which makes each visit feel fresh. You can tell there's real creativity behind the bar too. Everything we tried was well-balanced and genuinely memorable. What really sets MoonDrops apart, though, is the team. The staff is incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they're doing. Since Brittney has taken over the tasting room experience, the vibe has noticeably elevated. It feels more polished without losing that local, laid-back charm. There's also always something going on. Whether you're looking for live music (both indoor and outdoor), comedy nights, trivia, and events that bring in other local businesses, MoonDrops has you covered. It's become more than just a distillery, it's a community hub. Bonus points for the thoughtful food pairings and shareables that complement the drinks perfectly. If you haven't been in a while, or ever, it's absolutely worth checking out (again). MoonDrops has really found its stride, and it shows in every detail.
