Beautiful outside entry

wow, what a wonderful southern Indiana gem! All you need here, wine, beer and spirits and good quality of all. Awesome buildings and reuse of barn wood and tin. Historical appointments and decorated so nicely. We will be regulars now! Just have to say, Ron at the wine tasting was just awesome. Cheers!

I can't say enough good things about this place. Not only does it have great beer, but it has a great setting where you can also get wine and a few choices of hard liquor. I had visited those other sides of the property before, so I had to stop in to check out the beer side. Sharing the same building as the winery, the brewery side is very rustic looking with wine barrels stacked in the "dining" room portion of the brewery. There is a counter but barstools are VERY limited. The nice part of that is that it clears space to allow new purchases to occur without reaching over someone. I decided to do my usual flight whenever checking out a brewery for the first time. They have four 5 oz for $10 at the time of my visit. And they had loads of options to choose from. One of the really cool things they do is have light IPA's, IPA's, and their SMaSH beer comes if five single hop varieties so that if you order a flight of SMaSH, you can tell the differences in the hops. Very cool. I will have to try that the next time. Since I wanted more variety, I went with a Blood Orange Blonde (4.7%, 25IBU) which was citrusy, but not too sour. I then went with the SMaSH with the Calypso hops (4.7%, 47) which was hoppy, but aptly named light. I followed up with their regular IPA (American) at a kicking 7% (52 IBU) that was really well balanced. And I finished off with a really tasty Vanilla Bean Milk Stout (5%, 24). It's pretty rare when I like all the flavors I pick in a flight, but this was about as close as I've been. Very good options! The service in the afternoon was great, though I will say there weren't a lot of folks at the counter at 3 in the afternoon. Still, the bartender was very pleasant and made good conversation to pass the time since I was by myself. I look forward to returning to try some more flavors. Review #1694

Like another reviewer, we had visited Cedar Creek in Martinsville only one other time years ago before the brewery and distillery were built. We liked the winery, but with the addition of the distillery and brewery, Cedar Creek is a truly unique destination. It is certainly the only winery/brewery/distillery in the greater Indianapolis area, and I'm not sure if there are many others (if any) elsewhere in the state. The beer is very good, and there are a variety of styles, so everyone should be able to find something they will like. The vanilla stout, in particular, was out-of-this-world, crazy good. The distillery was also great--I really liked that you could get flights of small mixed drinks with their spirits rather than just having to sample hard liquor straight as with some other local distilleries, which is not my favorite thing to do. The mixed drinks included rum and coke, a hot, spiced cider drink, and a deliciously decadent "pumpkin smash." All of the bartenders were very helpful and friendly, and the location is beautiful. We will definitely return again when we have more time very soon.

A nice time to listening to a local band. It's always fun to listen and have a brew here.

Cedar Creek has some of the BEST beers I have ever tasted. I'm looking forward to the day when this is sold in bottles.

Great addition to the winery. Looking forward to kicking back with their IPA on the patio this spring.

This one, however, rocketed to the top of our list among Hoosier wineries whose products we have tried. Not only was the wine a treat, the experience of the visit was also memorable. The facility was very nice, from the impressive external landscaping to the lovely wine shop/tasting bar to the relaxing garden-patio-themed dining area. We visited with the intention of just doing a tasting but ended up having a light lunch along with that tasting. We were glad that we did as the charcuterie board that we ordered was terrific with olives, naan, hummus, chips, cucumbers and more. It was enough to be shareable. But the highlight was still the wine. We also shared the flight as we did not want to overdo it. We tried the Peach Sangrini, Peach Pie, Lemon Moscato, Raspberry Espresso and Sweet Red Lime. All were good but I'd have to say that the standouts to me were the Lemon Moscato, which was refreshing and tasty, and the Sweet Red Lime which delivered what the name implied with a citrusy, lightly sweet flavor. The prices were not bad as I thought it was a good value for what we received. I would be remiss if I did not also note that the service was top-notch. Our server was efficient, attentive and knowledgeable. The greeter was also pleasant and welcoming. It is likewise noteworthy that we had our 8-month-old granddaughter with us, and it was greatly appreciated that they offered a family-friendly experience that accommodated her as well. Our daughter and son-in-law live in Indy, so this place is just an hour or so away. We'll look forward to the next time we can visit as there are several other varieties of wine that appear to be worth trying.

We love that they walk you through all the ingredients and even give you recipe cards so you can try to make it at home. Somehow it's never quite the same when we make it ourselves, which is exactly why we keep coming back to enjoy it firsthand. We've also done the tour multiple times, and it's always a great experience--very informative and well done. The tastings along the way are a lot of fun and just add to the overall experience. Great drinks, great staff, and always worth the stop.

When people think of whiskey in Indiana's Brown County, they might think of that other place. (You…read moreknow the one.) But there is another distillery quietly making small-batch, high-quality spirits in Nashville, and that's Bear Wallow Distillery. Located just outside of downtown Nashville, Bear Wallow Distillery is one of the only female-owned distilleries in the country. They create their spirits in a traditional copper pot still, which I learned is unique. Inside the tasting room, you can enjoy a whiskey tasting or a flight, or sip a craft cocktail and relax in the shop. I chose to enjoy a "Call Me Old Fashioned" standing up at the bar, while chatting with the guy who made me my drink. My Old Fashioned was well balanced, not too sweet and made me feel all warm inside, as a good Old Fashioned should. Those who are interested in learning more about the whiskey-making craft can go on a Farm-to-Fifth Tour, which takes you behind the scenes to learn about the history of whiskey and see the full production process. I did, and I found it very informative! I had a new appreciation for the kind of whiskey and spirits they are making here at Bear Wallow Distillery. From the ingredients they choose to the barrels they use, they really put their foot in it, as they say. If you like whiskey, or just like to try local spirits, this is a good place to visit in Nashville.

This place is seriously adorable! I was just minding my own business, Googling wineries near me (as…read moreone does), when this gem popped up. Naturally, we made brunch plans. True to form, I almost missed the turn and had to pull off a dramatic last-second brake maneuver, shout out to the empty road behind me. The parking lot may be gravel and line-free, but there's plenty of space for everyone (bonus points for not having to parallel park). Stepping inside, I immediately thought, "Ooh, this is my vibe." It's cozy, inviting, and one of the owners made our drinks, talk about good treatment! At first, it was just a couple of wine drinkers, but then people started rolling in for a vision board event, and suddenly it was a full house of dreamers and brunch lovers. I went for the Fig sandwich (hold the meat) with chips. It was tasty, though there was a mysterious aftertaste; was it the brie? The apples? The suspense continues. I also tried the lavender wine cocktail, which was more "botanical" than "sweet treat." If you're into sugary drinks, maybe skip this one, but my friend's berry wine cocktail was a total winner. All in all, this place is a delight, and I'm already plotting my return to taste test more of the menu (for science, of course).

Very talented! We met Brent, the owner, and he was super friendly and informative about the menu. I loved the small touches, like the silverware tied with a ribbon and the flower display on the table. I had the Purple Rain cocktail, it was delicious! For food, I ordered the Berries & Cream waffles, which were loaded with fruit. They also have a small area to purchase wine bottles and Rejoicing Vine merch. While finishing up, we asked about what they were setting up and learned it was a vision board event, which Brent said they usually hold once a month. Overall, I really enjoyed my first visit and would love to come back in the summer. There are several picnic tables outside, perfect for enjoying a sunny day.
