The wine my wife and I got is really good, but wine is a matter of taste, so this review isn't about that. It's about the cozy tasting room, the friendly staff, the overall aesthetic, and the outstanding food. I got fish and chips, and my wife got chicken strips and fries. I was taken aback by the small, bite sized pieces of fish at first, but they were just fantastic. I mean perfect! My wife loved her chicken, and we both raved about the fries. It was all piping hot and very filling for a reasonable price. We sat outside and ate while listening to a good live band. It was a wonderful afternoon. I'd go back there just to eat. The event at Cedar Creek was "come for the big Green egg festival" it said purchase tickets here online we did. However, we found out after we got there if you wanted to participate in the big green egg fest, it was an additional $20 which my wife and my friend's wife wanted to try dearly. The food was delicious. Well worth the $20 and by the way all of that went to charity so kudos to them. the unfortunate thing for us was we got there at 3:30 and got great seats however it got so crowded people were walking all over you. if you wanted a beer or a mixed drink it was well over a 30 minute wait. we ended up leaving about 6:30 PM because we were getting trampled by people and there was no way to get any thing to drink without at least a 30 minute wait. it was pretty disappointing. I love the concept of Cedar Creek. A brewery, winery, and distillery all in one place?! What more could you ask for! We started with a free wine tasting. After tasting their wines, we got a bottle of their blueberry wine to sip and enjoy. Next, we got a beer from their brewery. Their blood orange beer is my favorite! We sat down in the eatery side and enjoyed our drinks and played a card game. There was live music as well. We got the pretzel charcuterie to split. It was huge and perfect for snacking and sharing! It came with an assortment of meats, cheeses, and nuts! They served it with mustard and beer cheese to dip the pretzel in. Priced at $20, it was a great deal!! We absolutely love this place. We had recently purchased a camper and were able to use Harvest Host to make this our first stop on our maiden voyage! The process for checking in was easy and well organized. There are 3 different "sections" with each offering something unique. The brewery, food station and winery are all housed in the same area. They had a wonderful variety of beers (including sours), wines and even a cider/sangria slushy! We ordered a variety of appetizers and ate until we were completely stuffed! After, we strolled back to the camper for a quick rest and then walked over to the distillery area! Their signature cocktails are delicious! The bartender was fantastic and extremely friendly. His stories of working in Indianapolis were both captivating and engaging. Inside the distillery, there is also a little boutique that I visit every time we stop in. Of course I had to buy a couple pairs of jeans! The grounds are absolutely beautiful and at the end of the night (when it was dark and quiet), we were actually able to step outside and catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights! I met a friend here as a nice half way spot between Bloomington and Indy. Vast outdoor space and multiple indoor areas or alcoves to enjoy. The wine was of the sweeter profile (even drier varieties) so it wasn't really my bag. But, I enjoyed my flight experience regardless. The beer was decent and prob what I would choose to imbibe next time. They have a limited menu of mostly pizza/fried options and a couple salads. It'll do the trick if needed. read more

We stopped by one evening on our way through and just wanted to purchase a bottle of wine and attempted to go in and was met with a rude employee stating they were closed for a private event. I tried Cedar Creek Winery's tasting room for the first time during a girls trip to Nashville, IN and fell in love with the Pom-Pourri -- it's the perfect semi-sweet red wine that pairs well with everything! On a later trip back to the Nashville tasting room, I was disappointed to find that a lady that left the store just as we were walking in had bought the last two bottles they had in stock! Getting that wine was the main reason I wanted to make the trip, so I was pretty bummed about returning home empty-handed. One of the salespeople told me I could get the wine at their main location in Martinsville, but I thought to myself, when will I ever go to Martinsville?! So... fast-forward to a few months later, I'm on my way from a trip to Bloomington and notice a road sign for -- you guessed it -- Martinsville! I must have taken that route back and forth to Bloomington dozens of times, but must have been driving on auto-pilot, because I had been passing right through it for years without even realizing. Anyway, after some quick googling to make sure the winery was open, and wondering how many country roads I was going to have to navigate before I got to this place, I finally made it to the source of the wine I'd given up hope on having again anytime soon. The tasting room part of the winery was fairly empty when I arrived late-afternoon, so I opted to stick around for a bit for the $6 wine tasting and check out some new wines. I thought it took the person running the tasting area longer than necessary to acknowledge me and get my tasting order, considering the fact there were only two other couples there at the time. Other than the wait, the rest of the tasting service was great and I walked out about 45 minutes later with several bottles of my beloved Pom-Pourri and a couple of other fruitier wines. I tend to prefer sweeter wines, and Cedar Creek has a nice variety of them. If you get a chance to stop by for a tasting and are looking for a place to start with the sweet wines, I'd recommend the Pom-Pourri, Blue Velvet and Pink Moscato. For something REALLY sweet, try the Harvest Moon ice wine. read more

This is my second time here. The people are all so nice. I love that they have a winery (great ports), beer, and distillery (pineapple rum and moonshine and more to taste) All 3 are located in 3 different spots on the property. They have great concerts out back and it's not too crowded. I saw the Woomblies tonight and it was great. I wish they had a few food trucks so you would have a choice of food. Easily one of the top 3 wineries we have visited in Indiana. Great selection of wines (especially sweet ones) and hard liquors. The wine tasting is in the larger building and the cocktail tasting is in the other. Both are a must try! The entire grounds are amazing. There is seating in and outside both buildings plus picnic tables scattered around the stage. There is also a small open seating area around a fire pit that is next to a small covered area that has additional seating. All of that combined with the beautiful landscaping and architecture create a great atmosphere few wineries we have visited can match. It was well worth the 90 minute drive. Excellent winery. I've wanted to check this one out for awhile now only to realize we had been to their tasting room in Nashville. The vineyard winery is a busy place for sure. They do have a big bar with room for lots of room. There is a good amount of accessory shopping. I loved the reds and even the whites. We took home the Chardonnay & Shiraz and the Summer Breeze & Apple Smooch. We tried to go over to the distillery but there was no room for us anywhere and it did not look like it was clearing out anytime soon so we figured it was a stop for another time. read more

I was really impressed with the look of this family owned business east of Martinsville. As you pull into the vineyard, you can see the rows of grapes on site (not in California or Michigan like some other local "Wineries"). There are multiple buildings including the large winery, and a distillery to the south. (Inside the winery is a brewery too!) There is even a small pasture with goats and a mini pony. I started with checking out the winery. There is a small patio to the right and the main entrance for the tasting room is on the left. The tasting room has a central 4-sided counter for visitors to step up and check off a 2-sided laminated wine list, picking up to five samples to taste by indicating a check with a marker by your choices. Like most tasting rooms, the tastings (which are free in the winery) start with the dry side of flavors and progress to the sweeter and specialty wines. I sampled wine from all the categories and particularly enjoyed a Chardonnay and a fruit wine on the sweet side. Inside the winery, there is also a wine bar behind the tasting room and the brewery (which I did not visit on this trip) is off to the right. The service friendly and informative. I love this winery! The flavors are very distinct and won't disappoint. From the oak barrel dry to the sweetest sweet, they are fantastic! I am a huge fan of port wines and they have six! Dark inspiration, red velvet,even peppermint mocha which is delicious! !!! They have a huge seating area inside and out of you want to enjoy the country scene. Next, they have a distillery on property that has mixed drinks made with their clear rum, brandy and moonshine! You can do a flight of all 3 for $5 OR try their delicious mixed drinks. I choose to do a beer flight. 4 selections of my favorite styles, ice cold. All 4 of them were fantastic. Even though this was a wine tour, I had slipped back into my comfort zone. My girlfriend tried a wine tasting and was thrilled. After selecting a glass we kicked back and enjoined the live music. The atmosphere is very relaxed and everyone was friendly. I've been to a lot of wineries and can say for certain that the red dry wines here are some of the best I've had. We went there for a couple of hours just to enjoy some family time. I tasted the top 5 wines on the dry side and really enjoyed them. Not many wineries have valpolicella! We did not try the brew or distilled products though I have heard that the beer is good. Manager was incredible rude to me and to the rest of my party. He would not let us sample the wine we wanted, instead wanted to pour what he thought was best. Very cool little tasting room. This is really out there, but bonus -- there's a Rural King just a few minutes away. I'm always a sucker for a tasting room with dogs, but if you have a fear of them or allergies, be warned -- I think they are a staple fixture (and super adorable!). Like my husband, it irks me to have to pay for samples to figure out what wines to buy. I understand there are some jerks that would just taste and go, but they could at least refund the tasting charge ($5 for 6 very small samples) if you purchase anything. They have some very interesting wines. They have some dry wines, but they also use traditionally dry grapes like Chardonnay and Merlot to make their sweet wines. The Pom-Pourri (a sweet red Zinfandel) is a fantastic summer wine and their top seller. They have a cute covered picnic area that I think has live music. There's a great breeze running through it. It was wonderful to buy a glass and sit outside sipping. I didn't purchase one, but the have fruit/cheese plates for munching. I owe my dad an apology, too. He kept saying how he bets they sell a bunch of beer and wine in the summer. I kept correcting him saying they only sell wine. But per their website, they have a brewery coming soon!
