Cute little hole in wall w very limited street parking. Stopped with my son and tried one milk tea and one Bobba tea. The cashier recommended the brown sugar boba for my son and don't think that was a good recommendation for an eight year old it tasted like crème brûlée with the burnt sugar and all. I had a matcha milk tea and it was good but the regular size is very small for the price you pay. The space is cute and super clean. The menu is only available on chalk board or tv monitors. My friend and I stopped in to CeCe's after a day of shopping. I have never had boba before, so this was my first experience. I ordered coffee milk tea with tapioca and coffee jelly, the tea was excellent. My friend ordered the strawberry fruit tea, which was also excellent. The service was sub-par, the woman working the counter was sitting on the floor on her phone when we walked in and was not overly friendly. I told her it was my first time getting boba and she provided no insight into what I should look at or try, which is the reason for my 3 star review. They also forgot my order, my friend got her fruit tea and I thought they were making mine, so we sat down and played a game of checkers. After waiting 20 minutes, we went up to the counter and asked where my boba was and both of the people behind the counter said it was made but they never put it on the counter for me to grab. We love boba tea and were so excited to hear when CeCe Bubble Tea opened in Shelton, because it's one of the closest to us now! What really stood out was the super friendly staff that made an effort to talk to us while making our drinks. It's super cute inside, and I haven't seen too many boba shops that offer sandwiches, pastries, and food in general. Everything looked great on the menu and I'll definitely have to try the food next time. The Oreo slush and brown sugar milk tea were really good, and the strawberry one wasn't bad, but a bit artificial compared to others I've had. I ordered a standard boba milk tea (black tea, milk, sugar, boba) with 50% sugar level. The weird thing is it took 4 minutes to explain what I wanted to the cashier. The batrista had to step in and help out. In my experience with popular boba tea outfits (Gong Cha, Tiger Sugar) it is very easy to order a milk tea. Despite the confusion the staff was delightful. The milk tea was average. The tea flavor was weak, the milk was not creamy and the sugar level was not correct (ordered 50%, tasted like 25%). I didn't really like the tres leche either. It was too sweet and didn't have the best texture. The place was very busy which indicates they have a lot of satisfied customers. I'm guessing I just got unlucky. Given the location has practically no other options for boba tea I think 4 stars is fair. Compared to the boba tea staples of NYC I'd give it a 3. My visit was kind of a let down but I think this place deserves another chance. read more

Wife and I decided to stop by for boba tea this afternoon and we are glad to have found this place. There aren't many boba tea establishments around here and the places I've been to are a real let down compared to the boba tea you can get out in L.A. Watered down teas, over sweet drinks, and worst part of all rock hard (not fresh) tapioca. We ordered taro milk tea and coffee milk tea. Both drinks tasted authentic and not watered down. Bobas were fresh and chewy and very delicious. I give it a 5 star rating for the drinks. Place was clean inside with plenty of seating available. Overall, the drinks are good and happy to have boba locally. It's more so the service that is hit or miss here. The manager/owner is amazing and friendly and there are a few key employees that are great. There are unfortunately 1 or 2 who have stank attitudes. During a "rush" (there were two orders ahead of ours) i asked if they had an ETA on our order (which was made 25 minutes ago). Both employees were dead-faced and quite literally dragged their feet (seemingly intentionally to take longer) and overall just refused to be friendly. One or two poor experiences won't keep me away, but I will likely only order ahead in the future if possible. It should be noted - this is the typical premixed bubble tea (not fresh brewed) which is fine, however it is part of what confuses me about why the waits are always so long. read more

Pleasantly surprised by this drink "Brown Sugar Milk Tea" in a small size which was more than enough for the price, $ 7.46 total. My first time trying Boba. It was sweet, sweeter than how I would ever order any of my beverages. It was room temperature, on the cooler side but not iced. It tasted like caramel macchiato after the ice has melted. The boba on the bottom were gummy like a Haribo bear but without the head & stubby limbs. The boba leaned more towards the sugar free version of a vitamin chewy Women's OneADay. The drink definitely had the aroma of a tea, and the milk reminded me of the heavier carnation milk by nestle. The flavors all around made me think of an iced Chai latte but no ice, so all liquid, a generous amount of syrup, and dark pearly edible beads on the bottom. It made me miss a true thick ice cream milkshake, or a frosty. I enjoyed the large straw which was big enough to get the boba beads through & it was very easy to puncture through the vacuumed sealed top of the drink. The seal had a fuzzy pink creature printed on it so the straw sticks out where the creatures "nose" or "mouth" would be like pinning the tail on the donkey. Friendly curb side appeal which was what caught my eye driving by in Shelton CT today, and the service was very quick. The cashier was nice. PRO: Several flavor options, lots of seating, clean interior and in a nice business section of town. CON: Parking is very limited. I attempted to go there for two days and couldn't find parking. I parked illegally & placed my order just before a group of kids arrived. I do recommend trying the drinks even though it wasn't my cup of tea. read more

Like the sandwich. Hate the wait. Nice and clean place inside with good atmosphere, which is great because you're going to be there a while. Service is painfully slow, likely due to their limited number of staff working at a time. Love the Miami sandwich, but again the wait is a killer, I was the only customer and it took 30 mins to put it together. Sandwich prices seem very fair but the drinks and pastries (don't eat the pastries) are really expensive for what you're getting. Had bubble tea growing up and this is such a welcome find in CT! Love the selection of teas, boba, and flavored jellies. They had an organic watermelon juice with boba the day we came by and it hit the spot with this summer weather. My son loved the strawberry tea with star-shaped jellies. They carry a lot of authentic flavors that I remember (taro, longan, lychee, etc) but also have fun flavors and twists. Really brings back good memories. The man at the counter was nice and overworked and there's plenty of room to sit, but that was the only good thing about this place. It took 20 minutes to get two teas and they ran out of everything and didn't even have a sign out or any indication that they didn't have milk teas, which is a huge part of their menu. RUDE AF!!! Came in to pick up an order for Doordash and figured I'd get something to try since I love boba tea. The girl at the counter was too busy talking on the phone and didn't even acknowledge me when I came up to the counter. She continued to talk on the phone in front of me for 5 minutes. There was a guy that was also there that I saw who was in their kitchen and I had to yell for him for help to see where my order was for doordash. And it wasn't even done he had no idea it was even there. Until he looked and saw the order. The girl continued to stay on the phone. The guy said that it might be an important phone call. If it was an important phone call, if you have any sense in your mind, you understand that you take phone calls in the back away from customers if it's that important. Or you tell them that you need to put the phone down and take care of your customer. I will never return to this business.
