He had all the parts with him on his truck and had the busted toilet fill valve along with a new shut off valve replaced and working within an hour or so. I recently engaged Nick Stone Plumbing to repair and/or replace several dysfunctional plumbing…read moreproblems in my home. It was my first adventure into the plumbing world. I had received an initial quote from an established and respected local plumbing service. They could not have been kinder. They were prompt and professional .. no complaint there. I was surprised, however, by the projected cost. I decided to delve deeper into the plumbing world. My initial project was to replace two commodes, two faucets, and one "whole house" filter. Also, one shower/tub fixture needed repair. In the meantime, a trusted friend who was very savvy about such issues, had personal experience with a nearby independent plumber .. Nick Stone. Nick is not a part of a large multi-plumber organization. He is a one-man show. That being said, he has earned a reputation for getting the job done well at less expense. Another consideration is that I had already purchased the two commodes and the two faucets and had them on site at my home. I hired Nick. I was available and I witnessed the entirety of his work. I learned from the experience. I was able to assist him in small ways. We expanded the project to other notable appliances .. like the hot water heater. This much I can attest to - he charges through the day. He is on a mission. He broke a sweat on a 50 degree day. He knew I wanted to learn. He talked openly of his observations and decisions. I observed him closely when he executed critical procedures. He was as intent as a surgeon. As regards the final bill .... comparing Nick with my initial quote is an apple/oranges comparison. I can honestly say that I spent considerably less money and got considerably more done. I promised him this review. He deserves it. It was my idea .. not his request.
