We had a situation where we found water damage from our refrigerator water dispenser tubing underneath a built-in fridge that got into flooring, dry wall, and adjacent cabinets. We also noticed that the floor in a different room had been warped for awhile, and finally connected that there might be a slow leak. We had multiple bids come out to assess the situation, and West Coast Restoration was by far the most competitive bid. We dealt primarily with Albert for the project management portion of the process, and he was communicative by chat and by phone, explaining the whole process in a reassuring fashion to me and my partner. Askia and Chris were the ones who did the initial assessment, and they also were the ones who came out to do our project. They were incredibly timely, courteous, took time to review and explain each step of the process of what they found, making a headache of a situation a lot better. Honestly, the customer service that Albert, Askia, and Chris demonstrated was above and beyond the other two companies that came out, and having a competitive price to match really sealed the deal. Askia and Chris did a fantastic job on the remediation, which took approximately a week across two different areas, which included removing glued-down wood boards. They were very careful in setting up containment and cleaning up afterwards. Everything was completed on schedule, allowing us to move to the next phase. I hope I never have to use them again... but if I ever need remediation, I know exactly the company I will call. A shout-out to Nathan, the owner as well, for having such a fantastic team!!

It was the same company but different people running the job like it was a separate company. I ended up hiring another contractor that I had worked with me before.

Jim Thurber was the Project Manager who walked me through the process of putting everything back together again. He actually worked with my Insurance Adjuster, and I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket, except for an unforeseen leak with wall damage after the initial estimate was done. He had his employees there around 8 am every day they were supposed to be there. Alex and Marcus (i am not sure of the names, but hopefully I got it right) did the drywall/patching of the mess of my kitchen. Then the cabinet team finished it off, painted everything exactly matching the original paint, and put all the appliances back where they belonged. The kitchen looked brand new, and everything was cleaned up afterwards. The timeline was as first estimated. If there were any issues, Jim took care of it! Jim communicated with me often, and he reassured me that everything will be done to my specifications, which they were. Great company! Wonderful project manager (Jim)! Fabulous employees!

Giovanni along with Nate and Raudel's crews were great to work with. They were efficient, polite and kept me assured that they would take care of things and updated throughout the process especially since I was dealing with all of this while my spouse was on a work trip. When I had my spouse on video call to see the progress, he said their work was clean. We've worked with other companies for demo but these guys were wayyyy better at it. When it was time to pick up equipment after drying time was over, Gio again kept me informed with what stage of the process we were in and what'll happen next. Two were forgettable. Express Dry was not. Let's start with the basics: they showed up 15 minutes EARLY. I didn't know that was still a thing. From the first call to the final walkthrough, communication was consistent and clear, no chasing anyone down, no vague timelines, no "someone will be there between 8am and never." Before anything else, their first responder, Christian, did a quick health survey -- asthma, allergies, immune compromised household members? They came prepared. That meant a lot to our family and honestly set the tone for everything that followed. The crew arrived that afternoon, introduced themselves, walked through their scope for the day, and then proceeded to professionally protect every floor, wall, and personal item in sight before getting to work. They worked in 100-degree heat, in a garage tent with industrial drying fans blasting, and stayed until 7pm on a Friday night. On a FRIDAY. These people have my respect forever. Each evening you get a full inventory and walkthrough of the day's work plus what's coming next. PMs arrived every afternoon to check progress. I'm convinced they swept up every last speck of dust before they left, the house was cleaner than before they arrived. Shout out to Christian, Omar, and the rest of the crew whose names I absolutely should have written down -- I'm sorry, you all deserved better from me. Meticulous. Professional. Health-conscious. Hard-working. And genuinely good humans. No affiliation. Nothing in it for me. Excellent companies and employees deserve to be recognized, especially in today's service landscape. The only reason I even went with them was because of the impressive plumber I met with that recommended them. They came that night and helped initiate the process of drying the next day. Noah Lopez was the rep and was my contact initially. I saw 3 restoration companies that day and 3 plumbers so I had a decent idea how of much water damage, estimated time of deconstruction and reconstruction. A lot of companies get a bad reputation because they try and tear up as much as possible and I thought Express Dry was different but I was proven wrong. After a few days of drying, they all of a sudden discovered that my tiles were 30-99% saturated and they had to rip them up which would add another 2 weeks of work. I was confused on how this was NOT spotted initially by them or any other company I saw that initial day of interviewing. Everyone commented on how I should be lucky that the tiles didn't get wet. So obviously I called BS on them. They tried several scare tactics by having me sign some hand written statement that I would be liable and having multiple try and convince me to remove the tiles. Thank God I got a second opinion and had an outside company return to check for water damage and they too once again confirmed that tiles weren't wet and even if they were, there are other options that don't involve tearing up the tile. I thought I was getting a company that looked out for me but they were obviously looking to rip off the insurance company and make money for them. Noah tried to convince me not to contact my insurance company myself and he would do it all for me but I'll glad I called my insurance while he was present. I think that made him upset because after that, he went from being pleasant to being irritated, especially after the process began and I attempted to contact him. There were other things they did that also rubbed me the wrong way but I don't want to get anyone fired. Just another example of how can't even trust people to have some decency, even in 2026

When we started, we only knew what we didn't like about our current kitchen. Like any major…read moreproject, we started by reaching out to a couple of vendors to get quotes, that's where we met Alon, the project manager for Lumina Builders. What immediately stood out to us was that he had ideas and solutions to address our pain points and make enhancements, we wouldn't have ever considered, and didn't just wait for us to tell him how we wanted things. He created a vision for us in that first quote visit. The other contractor we spoke to didn't provide any ideas just asked us how we wanted it. It was a very easy decision to go with Alon and Lumina Builders. Our project was estimated to take 2-3 months and ultimately took two and a half months to complete. We designed a brand new kitchen, addressing all of our concerns and adding a few recommendations from Alon to streamline some areas. They ripped everything out aside from the flooring and walls. We got brand new custom cabinets, custom lighting, and new countertops. Our fridge was moved to a new, more accessible area. Our sink was shifted down to align with the stove for continuity sake (never realized how much I hated it being in a corner previously). We had a new little cabinet built in our little breakfast nook area and we had an appliance garage built to house everything that took up counter space. Everything is so much brighter and more open and, even though we know the demensions are roughly the same, it feels so much wider. We are ecstatic with how everything came out. Alon is a genius. He was responsive to us throughout the project, checking in weekly to see how things were going, giving us peace of mind throughout this process, as first time remodelers. We were indecisive about the primary cabinet color (I was very worried we'd be stuck with something we didn't really like) but he worked with the cabinet makes to give us several samples to choose from. He was very patient with us. We LOVE how everything turned out! We'll definitely be using Lumina Builders for all of our future projects.

First, our rep Robert came to our house with tons of options and suggestions. He was able to give us a wide variety and help us select something that uniquely fit our style and budget. He was easy to get a hold of and responded quickly with any questions we had. When we came to the showroom, Robert dopped everything to lead us through the selection process. We could tell he was highly knowledgeable and much more intent on making us happy rather than upselling us on unnecessary products. When instillation day came our installers, Miguel and Israel, were also very professional and highly knowledgeable and skilled. Rarely have I seen harder workers than these two! Their attention to detail--such as lining up the carpet pattern on the stairs and making sure the cut pattern on the risers were balanced--was impressive. The entire job, including moving large furniture, was completed in two days. We couldn't be more pleased! I followed up and checked reviews. They're legit licensed, bonded and do good work. Fast forward to the first day Armando and Andres started the job. They consulted with me and confirmed the features of the dwelling and the specific colors set for them from Sherwin Williams pallet for this model. Shout out to the lone faux shutter feature in da back of da house. *rolling eyes*. These guys communicated clearly the job and the specifics to be done. They explained to me the way they will paint the eaves and gutters (a little different from the original paint patterns). I'm good with that. That actually matches what all the neighbors did with their new paint jobs. Armando and Andres got right to work starting with the power washing for day one. The humble abode might have sighed a great sigh of relief when they did this. Gone are the tree sap, chimney soot, dust and pollen stains. Next day, cover up and protect. Then next 2 days paint all large surface areas and most of the trim. Day 4 finish all trim and doors. Last day, touch ups. These guys work hard and thoroughly. We are so happy and relieved to have the house painted right with the correct premium paint - Sherwin Williams. Looking over the humble abode now... She looks polished and beautiful. Take that HOA! I want to single out CC&R Construction for their amazing work in completing our home restoration after a devastating slab leak on January 16, 2020. Eventually, it was necessary to cut a 12 inch wide "trench" up an inside wall adjacent to the hot-water heater in the garage, across the ceiling in the living room, make a right turn into the kitchen, across that ceiling, down another wall, and finally behind the kitchen counter to restore hot water in the kitchen. Our Pergo floor had to be removed, and an asbestos contractor was required to remove 18" of drywall in all affected rooms where water had wicked up the walls. After or during those operations, our insurance carrier, Nationwide, instructed us to contact CC&R Construction for the restoration. CC&R's President, Bill Covington, came out to our home and completed all the initial measurements and materials identifications to prepare the estimate for Nationwide. As that was being approved, they introduced me to Moises Hernandez, CC&R's project manager responsible for the entire job. I was immediately impressed, as he always kept me informed about what day and time to expect his crew to arrive. They always arrived on time, were neat and professional, beautifully completed each phase of the restoration, and cleaned up after themselves including hauling away all the waste construction materials each night. Activities under the immediate, on-site supervision of Hugo Guzman, included but were not limited to: drywall and ceiling replacement, some minor rewiring as necessary, drywall and ceiling retexturing, painting (of course my wife and I got to choose all the colors), and installing a beautiful new floor in the living room and laundry. Moises Hernandez brought us 18" x 24" samples of several materials for the new floor so we could examine them against the newly painted walls. After the floor was installed, they even sent out several guys to help with moving our heaver furniture back into the room. My wife and I are absolutely thrilled with the final results! It is impossible to see where the drywall and ceiling cuts and replacements were made, the new kitchen and family room colors look fantastic, and the natural look and lighter highlights of the wood grain in the new vinyl floor coordinate perfectly with the walls. The restored rooms give off a warm and inviting feel, and we couldn't be happier. It is without any reservation that I highly recommend CC&R for restoration or remodeling projects. AAA Woodcrafters of Encinitas recommended CC&R Construction to provide their mold remediation and kitchen cabinet restoration services. After a new dishwasher sprung a leak and saturated the surrounding kitchen cabinets I turned on a fan to dry out the area, left it there for several days, and then called CC&R to have them repair the cabinets. Bill C. took the time to explain the remediation and subsequent repair processes. After testing the existing cabinets they were at least 80% saturated--so much for my fan work. At any rate, Bill's team created a space age mold containment area, properly dried out the area, removed the damaged drywall and cabinetry, and had a third party enviro company test to ensure the mold was reduced to acceptable health standards. Next, the construction team came in to replace the drywall and rebuild the cabinets. Both the drywall and cabinetry work were completed by CC&R subcontractors managed all the while by a competent CC&R project manager. The CC&R team reinstalled the dishwasher and cabinet faces and then we were back in business. All the work was professionally performed including the subcontracted parts (actually, the craftsmanship of the rebuilt cabinets is much better than the original cabinets). CC&R, Bill Covington, Gaby, Jesse, Edgar, and the entire crew were great to work with. We had water leakage that required mold remediation, drying, wall and floor damage that required replacement, pack-out of furniture and electronics during floor work, pack-in, our moving out for a few weeks, and all the rest of the disruption and unpleasantness caused by this water damage. After the insurance company told us that CC&R was one of their preferred providers, we called Bill - he showed up within an hour or so. They were highly professional, cleaned up after every work day, polite, competent, and worked directly with our insurance company. They had to remove the entire wooden floor and replace it, as well as remake some of the bathroom cabinets, re-plumb some water lines, cut and replace and refinish and paint walls, and so on. We are pleased with all the repairs. One replaced angle stop started dripping for unknown reasons a month after the work had been done - the original plumber was out instantly to repair the work at no charge. We recommend CC&R fully. Bill Covington's expert knowledge, experience, skills and abilities literally saved me thousands of dollars in water damage repair costs. Advice I received from other "reputable" companies was overly expensive, extremely destructive, and mostly unnecessary. In addition, these companies based their estimates on only a five minute look at the damage. Bill conducted and in-depth analysis of the damage, asked questions about how the damage occurred, and spent a considerable amount of time assessing the damage. Based on his expert analysis of the damage, Bill presented me with a much more reasonable, practical, and well thought out treatment plan. In addition to Bill's many years of experience and expertise in the field, he has excellent communication skills and was was able to effectively answer all of my questions and address all of my "black mold" fears. A really great contractor and team. I worked with Bill Covington and his crew for at least 3 months due to the size of my project and I am very happy with the quality of work and the reliable service. I started with a different contractor who abandoned the job while our house was still in shambles. Bill Covington came in and fixed everything. It was already a complicated project, and to undo the previous contractor's work only added to the complexity. Bill Covington, the workers and the office staff all went above and beyond to solve any problems, pull additional permits, work with inspectors and tended to my questions, concerns and changes. I had a water leak in my kitchen and USAA assigned CC&R to provide water restoration and wood floor replacement. From day one the CC&R team to charge and made my wife and I feel like we had the right team on the job. They immediately began drying out under the cabinet/sink area to prevent mold from forming as well as taking up damage wood flooring and drying the floor area. A construction team was sent to take measurements and prepare an estimate for USAA and myself to review. Nasty water leak in my home that wet the drywall in my kitchen cabinets. This was an insurance claim. CCR was there the next day with humdifier and fans. Cabinets had to be taken down and drywall replaced. When the area was dry, the new drywall was installed, cabinets rehung, and new paint for the ceiling and walls of the kitchen. During all of this, the home was totally respected. Drop cloths and visqueen(? spelling) were taped everywhere. The tradesmen did their jobs timely and in a professional manner. The project manager kept me advised daily of their progress and the next steps towards completion. A well run company with customer service a key component. I had a water leak in the kitchen and ended up filing a claim for it. AAA suggested CC&R to us and obviously they don't make those referrals without having vetted the company first! CC&R has been courteous, professional, and willing to take us through every step so we are happy with the repairs. When the work was done there were a couple things that my wife wasn't happy with, and we were able to work it out with CC&R. They basically said that their priority is that we're happy with the final state of the repairs. Filed a claim with my insurance USAA and they recommended CC&R. I have had nothing but exceptional and very professional service from them. From the beginning they made it very easy by taking care of all the insurance paperwork and claim process. My condo walls and flooring was damaged by a leak from my neighbor. They came and assessed the damage, contained and addressed the mold issue, fixed walls and replaced the flooring. USAA Insurance uses this Company for damage restoration. They are the best insurance business out there and would not engage with any company that was not as good as they get! I had a water damage induced ceiling and carpet damage event and Bill was there the next day to asses the situation. Within 2 days they started the remediation process. The subs they uses were tidy and prompt and did a nice job. Moises handled the lead well and was in frequent contact with me regarding the scheduling of the various facets of the program. Everything from the owner personally inspecting our home to the Forman making sure all the work was top notch. We had serious water damage in our condo in Mission Valley. After we found the origination of the leak, under the bathtub, CC&R got right to the remediation and then insured as there was mold present, that our condo was environmentally safe. After a weekend of camping, I came back home to a broke waterline and flooring on all three floors of my condo. CC&R came out quickly and cleaned up the mess. They handled all aspects of the effort from contacting/filing the insurance, to scheduling the inventory pack-out, to quickly and efficiently drying out all the spaces. I wouldn't characterize the sudden burst of water that flowed from our kids' toilet as a storm, but it was an unexpected happenstance that upended our lives for almost three months. Ironically, my wife and I had been contemplating restoring our outdated bathrooms, but I had explained to my wife that we needed to wait until the home interest rates plummeted, so that we could refinance our home in order to remodel our bathrooms. God Is Good All The Time and we know He heard us, but I wouldn't have fathomed that us getting new bathrooms would have occurred this way. We are so thankful to God that He allowed Aaron McFadden, Freddy and his team, and Element Construction and Restoration to be the main contractor that were responsible for the beautiful bathrooms, new flooring, and restoration of the damage that occurred from the water damage. Our home was built in the 1970s, so it's antiquated and prone to have issues such as water leaks and other problems associated with owning an older room. Unfortunately, this is our third time having some type of water issue. We've had a slab leak, a leak from our water heater, and this most recent iteration, a sudden burst of water from our kids' toilet. When this most recent episode transpired, I was a veteran of handling the basics of having to deal with a water leak such as reaching out to my insurance, contacting a plumber, and ensuring mitigation assisted with our situation. What I wasn't experienced about was construction and restoration of three bathrooms, part of our downstairs ceiling, affected walls, and our downstairs flooring. Praise God our go to plumbing company, All American Plumbing, recommended a small business and North County construction contractor named Element Construction and Restoration. The owner of the company and Aaron are family, so it's a family-run business based out of Oceanside. They have work all over San Diego, so they provide service around San Diego County. Full disclosure, I'd rate Element Construction and Restoration 4.5 stars because we did have some delays as a result of wrong materials ordered, but I would give Aaron, Freddy (one of the subcontractors Aaron uses), and Freddy's team 5 stars based on the impressive workmanship, diligence, and how everything that was restored turned out. Writing about their work doesn't do it justice, so please look at the pictures of the project. It truly was a blessing to work with Aaron. He's a friendly dude, has a positive disposition, was overly communicative in a good way, and he was completely transparent about everything including being apologetic for some issues that came up during the project. From the start of the work where Aaron came out to measure things to our final inspection where he scrutinized the work that was done, he was professional and knowledgeable about what we were going to embark on. What I also appreciated about Aaron was keeping my adjuster in the loop and updated about anything that came up from our project. One of the things I want to upgrade in our home is our kitchen, but I'm not looking for God to put us through another storm. If you're in the market for construction, restoration, or renovation of your home, I highly recommend Aaron and Element Construction and Restoration.

I told the neighbor right away, and she stopped using her shower until we could fix the problem. I filed a claim with my insurance... This company did a moisture test, dropped off one dehumidifier, and three air movers/fans. Then, they picked them up a week later. That is all they did. $7407.82?!? I would just say, PLEASE, PLEASE, think twice about letting your insurance (Homesite/AFICS) pick the contractors and handle the invoices. Once they pay the maximum allowed, they will wash their hands of it and will not help if you have questions regarding discrepancies with the invoices. If I had not been stuck with the remaining balances due, I would have never asked to see the billing estimates, and never would've noticed all of the inflated charges. My biggest gripe here is, do not charge for items or services that were not installed or completed, regardless if the insurance pays or if the homeowner pays out of pocket . Honesty and integrity are important. I will post the estimates and pictures here. I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well.
