The barista immediately asked, "Did you order a drink?" which caught me off guard because it didn't sound friendly and I've never been asked that. I told her yes and pointed to where my partner was sitting. It was disappointing to be questioned over a cup of water after buying a drink, especially on a day that was in the high 80s. What stood out most was the attitude. No smile, no friendliness, no effort to make customers feel welcome. Everyone behind the counter looked like they didn't want to be there. I've been a Starbucks Gold member since high school, almost 25 years now, and this was one of the least welcoming Starbucks experiences I've had. Customer service doesn't have to be over the top, but basic kindness and courtesy go a long way. Note to the district manager, check in on your employees.

When my 78-year-old mother, who has some difficulty hearing, asked about the summer drink menu and requested samples, the employee helping us was distracted, curt, and visibly irritated by the questions. She informed us there would be a 20-minute wait because she needed to help other customers, despite there being only three other people in the store, none of whom were waiting to order. When we said we'd rather leave, she reversed course and explained she actually needed to prepare samples for other customers first -- a detail she hadn't mentioned initially. The interaction felt dismissive and disrespectful, particularly toward a senior customer, and I found the lack of transparency frustrating. Having worked in customer service myself, I was surprised by this level of service at a company that prides itself on the customer experience. Based solely on service and cleanliness, I would not recommend this location and won't be returning.

CB Kitchen is one of those places that makes you appreciate having a genuinely good local restaurant right here in town. It's not trying to be some huge, over-the-top operation. They just do what they do really well, and it shows. The food is consistently good, the portions are solid, and everything actually tastes fresh and made to order. You can tell there's some thought behind the menu instead of it being the same generic stuff you can get anywhere. It's familiar enough that you know you're going to find something you like, but they still manage to make it their own. The service deserves just as much credit. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and makes the place feel comfortable without forcing it. Add in the atmosphere and it's just an easy place to enjoy yourself, whether you're grabbing something quick or actually sitting down for a while. Living around here, you get used to having limited options unless you feel like driving somewhere, so when a local place is actually this good, you want to see it stick around. CB Kitchen is definitely one of those places. Five stars from me. Good food, good service, great atmosphere, and one of the local spots that deserves the support. read more

Every year we drive up north from southern california, and for the first time we stopped in this cute little town for lunch at CB Kitchen. And I don't think anyone in our group was expecting to find such a hidden gem at cb kitchen. if you're driving up or down the freeway looking for food this must be the spot! we will be stopping here every single year going forward as a non negotiable on our trip. The staff made us feel at home, food was ALL made with locally sourced ingredients. Talk about customer service the way it is meant to be. My friend and I decided to get a beer here on a weekday evening. I think we must've ordered near closing time but regardless, the owners were incredibly sincere about letting us order two rounds and sitting out in their dining area.
