I probably should not order the same thing every time I come to this venue, but when I crave my favorites... this is the place! My family likes the same food, but we do eat other entrees like the awesome soups and steak and chicken and beans and rice and salad.. You can get the idea, we like everything on this menu! I see some Puerto Rican dishes on the menu that I want to try along side of my favorites. I crave the taste, textures, smells, and friendly service. I had them once host my son's entire basketball team here for a special lunch during season. The guys and parents loved the family style serving that we had. It was like our own private classy buffet! Teenage athletes can eat a lot!! And they really appreciated that they could taste the Love!! The venue is spacious and they even have live music on certain nights. I'm craving the flavors as I write this review! I'm sure you will enjoy as well!

Ok let me start off by saying. I have been on the hunt for a Red Snapper fish for over a week now. I was so glad to come upon this place. The Snapper was fried the way I like it. It came with rice and a salad. I like the ingredients they use to make the salad. It was a combination of shredded cabbage, red and green peppers. Carrots and tomatoes with the dressing already blended in. Not sure what they used but it was tasteful. It also came with a side of red beans sauce. My fish also came with it's own red pepper sauce. It was delicious! The plantains was nice and ripe. Which is the way I like it. My husband enjoyed his seafood platter as well. Actually I enjoyed everything that I endured. I placed my order online. Thru grubhub Pre-paid and everything was ready for pickup as promised. I did notice that they offer outdoor seating as well as indoors. I can see myself returning for the Red Snapper alone. Especially if I can't find a Caribbean restaurant in the area that have Red Snapper available.

Very good food. Mofongo was delicious. The place is decorated as dominican place. The service was good also. And the owener is a nice guy.

I had high hopes for this place, as I have been looking for a place that serves Mofongo near DC. It came up in my suggestions to try, so I gave it a shot but was pretty disappointed... To start with the good stuff: the owner/manager was very friendly and the service was quick. The mofongo tasted pretty good, but that is about it. The pork was so dry and hard it was not even worth eating. It was like trying to saw through a piece of leather. I threw out a few pieces which is extremely rare for me (especially after paying $20 for the dish)... The mofongo was great and maybe paired with another meat it would be worth more stars but due to how tough the pork was, I do not think I will be returning...

Yum! I've been craving Dominican food for sometime not realizing this restaurant is 10 minutes from me right outside of Columbia. Today I had the chicken soup for lunch. For dinner rice and beans, and a order of tostones (twice fried green plaintains). The soup is bursting with flavor and the chicken falls right off the bone. My daughter is 100% responsible for the 2nd trip. She requested to go for dinner after trying the soup. Next on the list is the Sancocho my absolute favorite. Stay tuned for more Dominican cuisine along with some fabulous photos!

Who would have known!? My grandmother lives literally 1.5 miles down the street, I passed by this restaurant all the time to get gas at the Royal Farms. Today I had a rough night, and I decided I needed a drink. Being that it is Tuesday, I was searching for a place that offered taco Tuesday. Although this restaurant did not have any specials, they did not disappoint. The restaurant was almost SPOTLESS! The bathroom was fresh and clean. The drinks were inexpensive but flavorful. The food was very tasty! I opted for Tex-Mex, being that I was in the mood for tacos. I ended up getting the fajitas which were delicious! My total bill only came to 30 bucks, and I had a full-size to go back! I did try the pastelitos, They were great as well. Next time I come back, I will try they are paella or other Latin dishes. Definitely will come back again

The staff is nice and yes it's affordable and good prices however, that's about all I can say that was good. I read the reviews and they seemed all over the place and decided to see for myself. I ordered taquitos (they were decent, pastelitos de chicken (they were out of them), tostones (no flavor or salt) , skirt steak (which was not a skirt steak but some low quality beef of some kind, that gravy on it - never have I had churrasco from a Caribbean restaurant that didn't have chimichurri, honestly it reminded me Salisbury steak) , the rice and beans (beans were watered down and flavorless), passion fruit juice(they didn't have it), margarita was meh.

Grande Burritos. Not pretty, but tasty.

First time here. It was ok. Strawberry Margarita looked better than it tasted. However the chicken noodle vegetable soup was very feeling. They offer happy hour. Would go back for the soup. 8/7/18 I went back again. I had better service and a grande burrito, fully loaded with steak, shrink, chicken, beans, and rice. Very tasty. As always, negra modelo to wash it all down. Bon Apetit.

Sorry it's already picked over but this is the chicken, sausage and pork.

This place is delicious! I wasn't familiar with Dominican food and this was a great introduction. My favorite part was the fried cheese and pastelitos. Definitely try the sausage, salami, and Madura de certo too. Great for meat lovers. The service was good and welcoming. I can't wait to get this place again.

The lounge is on the smaller side, which actually worked well for the event and gave it an intimate vibe. The owner was also very nice and welcoming, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The menu is extremely limited, and you pretty much have to piece together a meal from a few items. I ordered the jollof rice and six-piece chicken wings. The wings were overpriced, overcooked, and had no flavor at all. The only options were sauces on the side (honey, ranch, or blue cheese), and when I specifically asked for honey drizzled on top with blue cheese on the side, that request wasn't followed. Even more frustrating, our server never came back to check on us or make sure everything was okay. The jollof rice was honestly the worst part. Instead of that rich, smoky flavor you'd expect, it tasted burnt with a harsh charcoal aftertaste. I've had jollof rice many times before, and this was nowhere close. I ended up sending it back. Because I was hungry, I forced myself to eat the wings, even though they were dry and lacked flavor. Overall, Myste Lounge has a nice look and potential, but the food and service really need improvement. A revamped menu and better attention to guests would make a huge difference.

Service was great considering the place is small, it's hard to miss customers. It's a small hookah lounge in downtown Laurel, so don't expect a ton of space, but it's still a nice little spot to unwind after a long day or make a chill after-dinner stop. Hookah was smooth and the atmosphere was laid back. They do sell food, but we didn't try it this time. My only downside is the drink menu, it's mostly wine and champagne but overall it's a place I could see myself frequenting.

When I finally stopped by, I actually enjoyed myself. I liked the atmosphere, the energy, and the overall vibe. I even thought it was somewhere I would return to regularly, especially after learning that it was a black-owned business. As someone who intentionally supports black-owned businesses whenever possible, I was excited to have discovered a new place to support. Unfortunately, that changed at the end of the night. As closing time approached, I was standing with a glass of wine in my hand when, to my surprise, a member of the security staff (tall African American man with locs) randomly walked up to me and took the drink directly out of my hand. There was no "Excuse me." No "Ma'am, we're closing, I'll give you a few seconds to finish your drink, then you have to leave." No polite request to finish my drink and make my way out. Nothing! I completely understand that businesses have closing times. That is not my issue. My issue is the complete lack of respect and professionalism in the way the situation was handled. There was absolutely no reason for anyone to remove a drink from my hand without first speaking to me. A simple conversation would have accomplished the exact same result. Instead, the interaction felt rude, unnecessary, disrespectful, and honestly insulting. What bothered me most was how easily the situation could have been handled differently. A customer who is calmly standing with a drink in her hand should not be treated as though she is incapable of understanding a simple request. Respectful communication costs nothing! As someone who makes a conscious effort to support black-owned businesses, this experience was especially disappointing. I walked into The Hideout wanting to support the establishment and left feeling more disrespected than I have ever felt at any business I have patronized. After sharing my experience with a few individuals, I was surprised to learn that more than one person reported having negative interactions with the same security guard. I can only speak to my own experience, but hearing similar stories from others makes me wonder whether this behavior is an ongoing issue rather than an isolated incident. It is unfortunate that the actions of one employee completely changed my perception of what otherwise appeared to be a great establishment. One employee's behavior was enough to ensure that I will not return. I do not spend my money where I am treated with disrespect, spoken down to, or handled as though I am a child! I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously because no customer should be treated this way. Respect is the bare minimum when interacting with paying customers, and this entire situation could have been avoided with a simple, polite request. Please train your staff to do better!

Because of my video that I share at instagram I am glad Oversea Distillery and Bar only 10 minutes away from my house! BAIJIU: (pronounced bye-jyo) is a traditional, clear Chinese distilled spirit. Literally translating to "white liquor," it is typically distilled from fermented grains like sorghum, rice, or wheat and ranges from 35% to 60% ABV. As the world's most consumed spirit, it boasts a history spanning millennia How It's MadeUnlike most Western spirits, baijiu relies on qu, a unique starter culture of crushed grains packed with active molds and yeasts. This culture simultaneously converts grain starches into sugars and ferments those sugars into alcohol--a process called solid-state fermentation. The mash is then traditionally distilled in clay or stone pots. Just like wine or whiskey, baijiu isn't a single flavor. It is categorized into four primary styles, though many sub-varieties exist: Strong Aroma: Sweet and pungent with fruity and spicy notes (e.g., Wuliangye). Sauce Aroma: Complex and savory, often likened to soy sauce, fermented vegetables, or dark chocolate (e.g., Kweichow Moutai). Light Aroma: Crisp, clean, and floral, similar to sake or high-end vodka. Rice Aroma: Mild, slightly sweet, and floral, closely resembling other Asian grain spirits like shochu.

Food (which we didn't order) was a nightmare; there were people's orders behind the bar for over 30 minutes just getting cold because they were too busy to figure out where the people were and no one was coming up to check on their orders. I waited in line for over half an hour just to close my tab. I'd recommend paying with each order...
