Wonderful pharmacy. My kitty uses compound meds. They are so friendly and helpful I am so excited that they will be moving to Slo in March!

This pharmacy only caters to a specific group of people. If you have insurance they will do everything in their power to make you get your prescriptions filled elsewhere. Initially the process was ok but I've never had an order take less than a week. Then I was told that insurance companies were "squeezing" them on pricing so I had to pay the difference between what insurance would pay and the profit they wanted. Finally they added a $30 "surcharge" to every visit. I finally had it after I picked up 2 prescriptions and the total was over $100! They also have inexperienced counter help who were unable to answer any questions and simply handed me a piece of paper that said the insurance companies were to blame. I had to take my business elsewhere, these people are taking out their anger at insurance companies on customers. read more

I'm not a big yelp and review person, but I try to stop and take a moment when we encounter exceptional customer service. Our situation was a bit of a mess, I was quite frustrated, as was my practitioner office, and my situation got quite complicated. But the staff and pharmacist handled it all with such grounding and grace, right when we really needed it most. I came from a fair distance and almost didn't think it was a pharmacy when I walked in - cute but also quality gifts and decor and welcoming music. I'm feeling truly grateful this rare gem exists in our county. I look forward to many smooth transactions in the future. read more

Been going to this pharmacy for 14 years, Great service, however with how difficult dealing with insurance is they no longer take any insurance. (They really should update their yelp profile to say that). I can't pay $200+ a month, plus the $530 I'm required to pay for my med insurance to stay local. I guess enough rich people in the area are willing to pay cash for the convenience. Since we lost Rite Aid and the other new local pharmacy is overwhelmed and not taking new clients I had to switch to mail order which isn't ideal when you need antibiotics asap. Hope we get a new store with a pharmacy in where Rite Aid was. read more

Yes! They made my day. Here I am on vacation at the coast with a cold and cough that just won't quit. We got back to Cayucos just 15 minutes before closing time and found a good selection of cough medicine to choose from. Cute little store, more gifts than pharmacy, but they had what I needed. What a great place! It was a pleasure to walk into this pharmacy expecting to get some medicine, but find myself shopping for gifts and treasures for myself! The boutique quality gifts that are offered are top quality soaps, lotions, jewelry, handbags, cards, and so much more. I started following them on Instagram to get updates on new items. Service was exceptional! The pharmacist takes the time to talk to you. The ladies were so welcoming and friendly. I will definitely be back here for gifts for my friends and family. This is the most darling shop with the most helpful people! We were on vacation in Cayucos and my husband forgot his prescription medication. We arrived at the Cayucos Pharmacy just after their closing time, but the wonderful owner opened the store just for us, and re-opened the pharmacy. Within 15 minutes, they had successfully transferred my husband's prescription, filled it, and got us on our way. While we waited, we looked around at all the fantastic items in the shop. If you're looking for a stylish gift for someone (child or adult), this is the place to go! I wish we lived closer and could give this pharmacy all of our business. They're great! read more

This is quite literally my favorite store. Anywhere. Ever. The unassuming name "Cayucos Pharmacy and Gifts" doesn't even come close to shedding light on the fabulousness that is inside! Yes, it is a pharmacy and includes a nice selection of your basic drug store needs, but that is just a bonus on top of its otherwise fantastic selection of artistic, and thoughtfully chosen "gifts" (many of which are clearly chosen because they are sustainable, natural-type products). First off, they have most beautiful, artistic greeting cards in town. I don't go anywhere else in all of SLO for cards - I just come here a couple times a year and stock up! Second, if I ever need a gift for anyone I come here to get one. Surprising, I know! They have my favorite (affordable) jewelry selection of any store from SLO to Cambria. (I almost can't leave the store without grabbing one new item for myself.) And they have really great kids toys (from baby and beyond). They are artistic, artful, and high-quality. I get ALL my kid's friend's birthday gifts from here. They also have gardening supplies, journals/writing supplies, soaps and skin care products, among others. It's an all stop shop, but loaded with the most beautiful, high-quality (and affordable) versions of all things. They will even (artistically) gift wrap your items for free. I am not kidding when I say that every time I go into that store I say out loud to my self "This store is so amazing! Who runs this place and decides on the inventory - I love it!" And the staff and owners that work there are very friendly and kind. This is the perfect example of the kind of local, mom-and-pop store that we MUST support. Next time you have a gift to buy, put down that amazon-loaded computer and come to Cayucos Pharmacy and Gifts. I promise you will be happy (and more fulfilled) because you did!
