This place was such a cute little spot. I've visited Morro Bay several times but I guess I never walked down far enough so I always missed this store. I'm glad I finally got a chance to check it out. The worker (I'm going to assume was the owner) was super sweet and very helpful. She was hand making bags to put all your goodies in and they were so cute. I ended up getting a few things so I got some that I'm going to regift. They have trinkets and gifts for every kind of person. There's cards, jewelry, art, products from locals and there was even a kid section. I found several things for myself as well as presents for others. I actually had to stop myself from spending too much, I wanted it all. This is definitely a store to check out - I'm sure they have something for everyone! read more

Smoobage! What a funny name! I googled it to see if it's surfer slang or something but couldn't find anything. Anyway, I got the cutest earrings here while on vacation. Stud earrings, one a star and the other one a crescent moon. They were a little pricey but anything made by local artists should be. They've gotta make a living too, ya know? The lady working there may have been the owner, I'm not sure. But she was nice and chatty which I like. I also got a little notebook for my purse which is super cute. I'll be sure to stop back in the next time I'm in town. read more

So upset went into this establishment and was told. Had to carry my 80 Lb labradoodle service dog i to store!! She didn't seem to read my service dogs vest May e I should let all employees know before I walked in but it gave me a bad taste in my mouth and attitude about the workers We left and won't return read more

I love to pop into this store when we're in Morro Bay. Cute and eclectic stuff. They even have things for sale that others have handcrafted. Always support the local businesses when you can! I saw the cutest little (tiny, tiny) hand made dolls by the register other day. I picked out one for each one of my coworkers and they loved them! Only $1.25 each and they even had bendy legs! Too cute! Lots of jewelry items and wall decor. Many beach things! The lady at the counter (owner?) was super nice and friendly. I was traveling alone this visit and she let me carry my doggie inside. Check them out with every visit to MB, you never know what you'll find! read more

Came in here with family and while I didn't buy anything for myself, I can definitely see the appeal of a shop like this! Kaya was so kind and helpful and went out of her way to help my whole family with anything they needed. If the manager sees this, you're fortunate to have her on staff! Really enjoyed this shop. I found several adorable jewelry pieces and enjoyed the hospitality and help from Heather, the owner. I'm glad I didn't waste my money on cheaper pieces that are omnipresent in Morro Bay and waited to invest in the high quality artisan jewelry (mostly from local artists) that this shop has thoughtfully curated. My husband and I walked the Embarcadero at night and one night we noticed this beautiful, colorful hanging light lighting up their display window. After several nights passing this widow, we decided to go in the following day. A pretty young girl was working and we inquired about the light and asked if she gave a locals discount which she did! I purchased it on the spot plus I also bought a Breathe Pure Aroma Diffuser. Smells so good and I love how it's also a light that changes colors. read more

This is the cutest shop we discovered in Morro Bay. Lots of unique items from all around the world but what we especially appreciated (and snapped up) were these amazing handcut (?) greeting cards -- see the pic! The owner is also so friendly and kind, she was making these little gift paper boxes by hand at the cash register and showed us the steps, it was really cool. She has a wonderfully fun and relaxed atmosphere in her shop. There are other Morro Bay shops like Smoobage but this is the best one! Ps our visit was last fall but we look forward to returning soon! read more

I stumbled upon this shop on a trip out to Morro Bay. It looked interesting and the stuff they had from outside made me want to come in. They have a lot of cool things, jewelry, Crystal's, stones, sea salt lamps, art, vegan candles and body lotions etc. I would recommend this place for sure. Love this little store at the south end of the Embarcadero. I found some great feather earrings and locally made sunscreen butter in tins perfect for rubbing on my child's nose this summer. Love the creative art on the walls too. This shop is not like the tourist traps on the north end, but filled with locally made crafts and Heather the owner is super helpful and knowledgeable about the local artists and product makers in her shop. I will definitely be back! read more

This is exactly the type of store every town needs and especially great for a tourist stop. Wonderful selection - even a section for babies/kids - so much to see and so eclectic. "Smoobage" is by far the best shop in morro bay! It carries everything, from soap & candles, to Eco-friendly toys, to jewelry, to art, to clothing etc. and it's all made by local artists, including the store's talented owner, too! There's so much to choose from, you'll find exactly what you're looking for, plus more! Super friendly staff members & very helpful. The building is very inviting to begin with because it's wood and has brick flooring throughout. Everything is displayed artistically with lots of space and in a manner that you might use it in your own home, it's like walking from one beautiful dining room to another beautiful area of a home. I started adding pottery from the Garden Gallery to my collection of housewares and they have served me well over the years because they're always such high-quality. I always get joy from using them The designs and colors are always tasteful and they really go well with any decor. More than that, the way the objects are displayed together is truly artistic and never fails to inspire me!

All of the plants look really healthy and happy. My advice: Stick to the garden. The plants are all priced reasonably fair. The gallery on the other hand? I do like to walk around the entire store to see if I see something that catches my eye or an attractive plant in a random area, but all of the toys, trinkets, housewares, etc. are INSANELY overpriced! It's worth a visit as they have some charming settings and cute photo ops.

We did not see the no food and drink signs and my husband brought in an empty metal cup. We were told as the woman walked past us and not to our faces, her back turned to us the whole time, to put it at the front but my husband wanted to hold onto it just to not forget it and my husband even indicated it was empty. The woman then proceeded to loudly talk about us with another worker as we were also the only ones in the store. She said "they can probably hear me talking about them" and said it was rude and she didn't like rude people. We promptly put back the merchandise we had been holding to buy and left the store, she was also singly loudly a song about thieves and jokers and singing get out. Yes we did not see the signs walking into the shop as there is a lot going on in terms of signs at the front of the door so a kind warning letting us know drinks and food are not allowed would have been sufficient. She did not have to talk loudly about us trying to embarrass us to the other worker. This is not even kind or customer care at all. If you would liked to be talked down to and treated poorly this is your shop. Not that it should matter, but I am also a visibly Muslim woman and she was very peachy to other Caucasian customers prior to our entering the store.

Some displays were behind glass, but the majority were open, counting on the carefulness of customers. We stopped by to see if we could pick up a memento from Morro Bay, but no luck. My wife did end up buying a blouse from a brand that she liked, so the trip wasn't a total loss. I did enjoy slowly wandering down the cramped aisles...a lot of hobbyists displaying their passions: a lot of toys, comic books, and hardcover novels.
