I think Yelp may have not removed the coming soon announcement just yet because this location is open already. Came here on a Friday evening (dinner time) and the line was super long. Although super long, it still moved pretty fast. If you look at their menu they have premade bowls/wraps or you can do a build your own. I opted for the build your own and was very happy with my choice :) I did half arugula salad, quarter rice and quarter lentils. I'm not sure if they advertise that but I asked. Honestly, I kind of had a little of everything but felafel as my protein with mixed veggies. I think my favorite part is the meal was the cucumber mint water. So refreshing! We tried the blueberry one but cucumber definitely takes the win. With other businesses around, it might be a little hard to find immediate parking but you will. The restaurant vibe was cute + serene-like bamboo accent marks. Think chipotle but Mediterranean. I definitely see myself going here more often! read more

Love the food they offer. I would give a higher rating but I wasn't fond of the temperature of the rice and it tasted a bit undercooked and a tiny bit hard. They probably need to go over cleanliness practices because I've visited three times and their stations are a bit messy with residuals everywhere. Got upcharged for chicken just for it to almost crack a tooth from bone still inside of it! It had too much of a charred taste that stayed in my mouth, I'll probably go with regular grilled chicken next time. I paid $21 for a bowl, side of hummus (that wasn't filled all the way), and pita chips (5 I think). A little steep for me but hey, I still come back! I don't doubt there's my perfect bowl combination waiting for me out there, but I've still yet to find it. I've had better visits before, hopefully the next will be better! I saw him constantly smiling, greeting patrons and working hard to fulfill constant orders - there was a huge line. He did all with a smile on his face AND even managed to say "please don't forget to leave us a Yelp review if you enjoyed your experience" to customers. This was my first time at a Cava restaurant. My first time was somewhat a disappointment. The employee name Val skipped my dad and I. Val helped the customers behind us instead of helping us. Val told us the line starts at the bowl area, not where we were standing. We told her it is our first time, and we didn't know. She didn't apologize just asked us what we wanted. The other employees helped us after. The food was good. But for the price compared to the service was not good. I called to let a manager know. I'm sure it was the same employee. Picked up some CAVA for the first time today. I've been wanting to try it since they built the new Grove area off of Whittier Blvd. It's easy to miss because it's in a shopping center next to an In N Out and Canes, but you honestly have to try this place. Think of it like a Mediterranean style chipotle. You can build your own Mediterranean pita or Mediterranean bowl. I orders a braised lamb and spicy chicken bowl with all of the topping, and it was awesome and lamb meatball pita was legit. If you like Mediterranean food, you have to try this. The ingredients are fresh and the seasonings are right on. Mariana was the young lady who made my order and as a first timer she was friendly and patient with me as I asked all my questions and worked through the selections. I've visited two locations, first one in Brea and second one in Whittier. I love Mediterranean food and Cava seems to serve fresh and healthy meals. Unfortunately their service is mediocre to say the least. Employees looked less than motivated to be there and more as if being forced to serve the customers. The wait is at least 20 minutes before you can start your order. Once you go through the food bar and finally pay the enthusiasm is still nonexistent . The cashier at this location was quite rude and unhelpful. I didn't feel a friendly or positive ambiance. I enjoyed the food but rather look for another Mediterranean restaurant. I eat here all the time and always order the same build-your-own chicken bowl because the food is usually very tasty, but after visiting on Friday around 3 PM, I experienced the worst food poisoning I've ever had. Symptoms began about 4 hours later with abdominal pain, followed by a high-grade fever and intense vomiting, to the point where I couldn't even drink water without throwing it up. It almost put me in the hospital. I would wake up in the middle of the night and had to hover over the toilet. Two days later, I'm still dealing with full-body chills and can barely eat anything besides plain bread. I've contacted the restaurant, but after this experience, I can't recommend it to anyone and won't be returning. read more
