Came in Monday around 1:00pm. Not that great. Got my bowl, it had a black hair in it. I brought it up to the manager Leslie, she rolled her eyes and insisted it was mine. I've had my hair red, ginger, fire-engine red, since July. The hair in the bowl was black. Similar to the managers (just a reference, not accusatory). I was only offered a refund after I said I was leaving a review... overall disappointed. Very unprofessional. Definitely needs more training. Not only is she rude to the customers, but also her employees. As I was choosing my sides, she comes to the front and says to the girl making my bowl, "why are you using that many toppings, it's only one spoon. You should know this by now.". Then rolled her eyes and kept working. There's a Chipotle and Qdoba within 20 feet, that are notably less expensive, so I'll just give those a try next time. Plus they don't skimp on toppings! Imagine charging $13 per bowl, to only give out teaspoons worth of the sides. We literally get offered more sauces than sides . I only tried this place because it's newish and close to my job. The house-made drinks were good though. Overall, pricey for the value, poor customer service, wouldn't recommend. Especially with current management. read more

CAVA is a relatively new Mediterranean style restaurant. Its founder's were aware that food brings people together, and they wanted to make food that was healthy, delicious, and affordable to the average person. It began in Rockville, Maryland, and today is a popular chain with locations all over the country. I decided to go visit the location closest to me in the Towers Shopping Center, in Roanoke, Virginia. The place was very clean, with simple, contemporary decor, and very well organized. The ambiance is friendly and relaxing. The staff is very welcoming and hospitable and greet you with a big smile. When one arrives one follows an established route that leads to the beginning of the counter when the food is located protected by a glass wall but very visible to the eyes. Up high there is an electronic sign with some of the main menus or you can create one yourself. Since this was my first time here I asked the young gentleman who was my order taker and server to explain to me how the ordering system worked. He was very friendly and knowledgeable, and did so very willingly. CAVA offers customizable grain bowls, pitas, salads and soups with ingredients that are locally sourced. You start by choosing a base (bowl, pita or salad). Then you continue down the ingredients line and select your proteins, dips and other toppings. There is a sign up next to the menu that leads you through the process of selecting your ingredients and you can make your own bowl or pita starting for $11.35. Being able to build your meal is one of the most attractive features that it has, but for beginners like me, it also has some choices in the menu with already selected items. I asked my server what dish he would recommend from the Chef Curated Bowls and he recommended the New Spicy Lamb & Avocado. And by the way, those Spicy Lamb Meatballs were seasoned in such a way that they were the best tasting Lamb that I have ever had. My server was a pro at preparing my bowl and it ended up looking as a culinary masterpiece. To drink I just had a fountain soda, but they're also known for their seasonal juices and teas. I also learned about the CAVA Rewards, that by downloading their app and joining, you could earns points with every purchase toward future free food. At the end of the line one was given the total amount and had the option of paying with cash or credit card. I took my tray with my food and cup and went to get my fountain soda drink. Then I sat down to enjoy my meal. Besides that it was amazingly delicious, it was very nutritional, and believe it or not, it filled me up. I highly recommend this place to all of you reading my review and looking at my photographs illustrating the exceptional dining experience that I had here. This location is great, the employees are awesome and super helpful the only thing that doesn't really make sense is that the website says they close at 10pm and somehow they close early. We have visited this location around 9:15pm a couple of times and by the time we make it to the line they have already removed all the food and the drinks from the store. I understand cleaning up by 9:45pm because you gotta close by 10pm but closing down 45 minutes before closing time idk just a bit weird but if their closing time is 9:30pm I hope they update it online . Getting takeout from the Roanoke location does not suggest any decline in quality in my book., The salad bowl had ample falafel, unlimited toppings, strongly flavored sauces, and a diverse set of options for any diet. CAVA's fast casual expansion has vastly exceeded the reach of any of the conventional table service restaurants, and the ingredients are good. Drink and side options haven't blown me away, but I see no reason not to drop in to a CAVA on occasion for a bowl. read more

Cava is in a strip mall by Joanne's Fabrics. They have salads and bowls, along with desserts and drinks. I had a grain bowl. It was decent. There are lots of toppings to choose from. The dips are great. The eggplant flavor was the only one I wasn't exited about. I think pita bread should be included in the price of the bowl. The temperature varied in the restaurant. If you like being cooler, pay attention to sitting under an air conditioning duct. There is a variety of juices and teas. read more

I made a yelp account just to leave this review. I'm not sure if the google review I left made it through. BEWARE !!!BELIEVE THE REVIEWS!!! Clean store, but the bowls are disgusting. My wife, who suffers from alopecia (relevant to the story), ordered some early dinner/late lunch for us yesterday. I came in, picked up the bowls around 4:00pm. Upon getting home and enjoying our meal, I'm half-way through adding some more Ziki sauce to my bowl, as I spot a long black straight piece of hair in my cup. Completely disgusted, I call Cava to let them know what I just experienced. A manager answers the phone, she had some sort of an accent. I only note this because she didn't leave a name, so I can't report her name directly. I inform her of what I just experienced. Unsympathetically, she states, "Could the hair have fallen out of you or your wife's head?". My wife does not have hair, the little hair I do have is grey. Additionally, the hair was inside the Ziki already, so it couldn't have simply "fallen in", like she suggests. I inform her of my wife's condition, and also offer to provide photographic evidence. The manager then say, "Ohh, so do you like want a refund or not?". This is so unprofessional, didn't think we'd have to disclose our medical history just to get our order made correctly, someone call HIPPA. I've yet to get a refund or hear back from management, so I've taken the liberty of filing a dispute with my bank. Hopefully, this review can serve as a warning to others. Have tried this several times since I work at Towers. This place was great when they first opened but they just get worse and worse. I have never, ever picked up our order and had it be correct. If you go back to get what was left off, they accuse you of removing items to get more for free. Today was our last attempt, we purchased two bowls that had stickers on top outlining our orders, yet nothing was right in the bowl except there was lettuce where I had requested lettuce. Meh... The food has flavor, I'll give it that. But I got a big bowl with not a lot in it except rice. Five lamb "meatballs" were really like tiny patties. Only half a condiment cup of each of the two sauces. A small scoop each of the toma cucumber salad and pickled onions. If you order more than one thing in each category, they only give you half a serving. They make no effort to dress up the smallest $2 brownie I've ever seen. It came prepackaged. Also I ordered pick up for 7pm. Arrived at 6:55om and my food was already on the carry out shelf. When I got home at 7:00pm on the dot, my meatball temp was 94° which tells me my food sat in that shelf for a significant amount of time. read more

Cava has delicious, healthy food. If they were located closer to my house, I would get takeout from Cava weekly, if not more often. There are many choices for fresh and roasted veggies, meat, and greens. On the downside, I am not interested in eating inside their restaurant. The atmosphere is minimalist, industrial, cold and uninviting. It could be cleaner as well. IMO, It would not take a great effort to make the interior a more attractive and comfortable space, and I really wish they would consider doing so. Seemed like every Ingredient was intentional. We ordered the Harrissa Avacado bowl with extra chicken and the spicy Lamb Meatball pita. Went in tonight for a bowl and got an attitude from the workers on the line. Good service is tough but there are options if you don't want to be there. Woman who checked me out spilled some of my toppings while putting the lid on and put the spilled toppings right back in my bowl like nothing happened. Delicious food! I got the spicy avocado wrap and it was delicious. The crazy feta is so, so good. Very creamy, foamy, and tastes delicious in a wrap, can't wait to try it as a dip. Spicy Harissa sauce and vinaigrette are something I enjoy as well. Pricing is similar to Zoe's Kitchen, and I had leftovers afterwards.
