I wasn't expecting much from Rainbowl, but the chef's special burrito bowl was delicious. Perfect for quick, easy, on-the-go dining. The place is clean and the owner was really friendly. Customer service from the staff behind the counter wasn't the friendliest. Still worth a stop if you want something fast and tasty. read more

Food, service, ambiance, all amazing and I was hooked from day one. I have been to bother multiple times location which are located in Christiansburg and Roanoke. My go to are the bibimbap and tonkotsu. I've also had several smoothies, personal favs are the açaí and the green detox. read more

A nice treat after working out at the gym nearby! They offer some Boba Tea options, smoothies and/or classic drink selection to choose from. They seem to have a plentiful array of options to build your custom Poke bowls and they offer Ramen as well. We did not try the ramen. I plan to go again read more

JUST GO!!! It's really amazing. I didn't know what to get so the staff gave me these two suggestions and I couldn't choose so I got both. I'm so glad I did, now I have lunch for tomorrow and everybody will be jealous lol read more

There was something for everyone to enjoy. We ordered a crab salad bowl, miso soup, and ramen bowl. For my daughter I ordered just crab salad because it's her favorite. Even after eating the large portion so loved it so much she wanted another! The Unami in the miso is perfect and it was hot and soothing. The tonkotsu ramen was creamy and salty. Just perfect. The serving for the ramen was satisfying and didn't leave us over stuffed. I appreciated the amount of fresh toppings to choose from. The vibe here was great and we enjoyed the music while dining in. read more

Not the cheapest.. but you get what you pay for. Great quality ingredients and good portion sizes.

The food was tremendous and the staff was very courteous. The Ramen was delicious and you had a good amount

While I am sure Rainbowl has earned its higher rating, the issue in this case was definitely the service. The woman taking orders was very rude and rushed. She also misheard my order and verbally pressured me into paying the higher cost (for the bowl versus the wrap I ordered) once it got to the pickup area. Since there wasn't much flavor infused in the actual ingredients, I tried to use the cucumber wasabi sauce that came on the side. But it looked and tasted like spicy toothpaste - it would probably be better with another option! Overall, if I had intentionally ordered a poke bowl, I would call it average at best for above average pricing. I would definitely encourage people to check out Ichiban and Cafe Asia's lunch specials instead. read more

My first time there. I was waiting for my hair appointment (first time there too) when I wondered in. I was created with a smile and was giving an excellent first time suggestion (Korean Bibimbap) Soooo good. Will definitely come again. read more

Ordered ramen food was ok. Chirashi pork was actually very good. However soup and whole dish was luke warm. They messed up or order for one of the ramens. Took about 25 minutes to get our right order. Had to ask twice if it was ready and they had an attitude. Finally came and the new ramen wasn't even hot. Not sure how this place is over 4 stars. read more

I dined in today 5/1 at 1:30 and unfortunately I will not go back. On multiple occasions the customer service and general demeanor or staff has been unwelcoming. The first time it happened I gave benefit of the doubt it had been a bad day but now I see that it is acceptable to owners because it seems to be a regular complaint. Specifically the woman with short hair, she acts annoyed we are there and is extremely unwelcoming. The woman with long hair was more pleasant but while eating we heard them both looking at reviews laughing at someone's complaint of poor customer service stating "what does that even mean?". So it seems owners are okay with this behavior and it is unfortunate because this location is close by and I enjoy the type of food but do not want to dine somewhere I am made to feel unwelcome. read more

Love that Roanoke has a place like this - I love a bowl concept restaurant. This is a great takeout option, and the interior is nice too. We ordered online and our food was ready very quickly! The ingredients were fresh and flavorful, and I loved the sesame ginger dressing. You get a lot of food too!! Yum! read more

Rainbowl - Korean Bibimbap Bowl (front) & Vegan Bowl (back) - Salad Near Me - Roanoke, Virginia

Ordered takeout from their website on a Saturday evening. Their site was relatively easy to order from thru the phone and the food came out accurately. When I went to pick up the food it was ready by the estimated time. There weren't any customers inside but I could see a few waiting takeout orders. The girl at the register was friendly and efficient at finding which one was mine. We ordered a sushi burrito, ramen, miso soup, a side poke salmon and 2 drinks. Note that if you choose the matcha milk tea that's a single item and not choose the matcha flavor under the bubble tea that is actually a bottled drink. For packaging the soup was separated from the noodles which is great so the noodles wouldn't get soggy while waiting. The only downside here was the side poke got bagged with the soups and not the sushi burrito so it didn't stay cold. All the food came out fresh and delicious. The soft boiled eggs for the ramen weren't overcooked and actually had soft yolks. (I don't have pictures of the ramen since l because my husband was hungry and ate it quickly, haha.) He ordered the spicy tonkotsu, it had good flavor, not overwhelming spice and the chashu pork was chopped well and delicious. I ordered the chef's special sushi burrito, salmon tasted fresh as well as the fillings. If you've never had seaweed salad it's kind of chewy which can be a little harder to bite through in a burrito form. This came with a spicy aioli type dipping sauce and a sesame ginger sauce. Both sauces add nice layers to the flavor and there was more than enough of both to last the whole burrito. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was that one of the fillings was tempura crunch and there were only a few small pieces and not crunchy through the whole burrito. The size was also a little small for the price but the salmon filled end to end. Miso soups were as expected and did not disappoint. The side poke salmon also tasted fresh, this is actually a decent portion for the cost and the sauce it's marinated in was a nice compliment. I would easily go back and order just the poke side as a snack. The bubble drink I got was Thai tea flavored. It was good but didn't quite taste the same as Thai tea I've gotten from Thai restaurants. The boba seemed softer than other boba I've had before. I live less than 10 min away and I'd definitely come back again since there's still very few ramen and definitely poke bowl options in Roanoke. Coming from California where there's plenty of ramen and sushi available this was a good match in flavor and freshness. read more

Traveling and need a fresh food break. The menu seemed extensive for a "bowl" casual lunch and the smoothies also very complex and beautiful colors/flavors offered. Clean and modern decor made us feel at ease. We appreciate the 2 tofu options and sweet potatoes are also a nice addition. Epic number of sauce choices. read more

I have been really craving some poke and was worried that I would not get good quality in this area. However, I was pleasantly surprised with Rainbowl. Both times I have gotten food here have been take out so I can not say anything about their service, but the food has always been ready on time for me. Their tofu bowl and spicy tuna bowl is good and definitely scratches the itch. I will definitely be back! And I saw they had BOGO milk tea on Saturdays. read more

My friend suggested RainBowl to me recently, and I had a feeling it would be good, but not to the exceptional level I ended up experiencing. Their two primary staples are the meal bowls and the ramen. The dishes are notably colorful and flavorful. It was tough to decide, but I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen with shrimp as my protein selection. To my elated surprise, it looked like they added a chili crisp oil to the broth, which I happen to be a big fan of. The umami tasting miso broth combined with the spicy chili crisp gave the ramen an incredibly savory flavor. When it was brought out to me, a gentleman walking by, who had just finished his meal, asked me what I ordered. When I told him, he said, "Dang! I should have ordered that. It looks good." We laughed and I told him he'll need to try it next time. The soup was every bit as delicious as it looked and I highly recommend it. As for the atmosphere, the restaurant was clean and had a comfortable counter service vibe to it. The service was great with friendly staff there to assist their customers. A friend of mine invited me for dinner at RainBowl Poke Salad / Wrap & Ramen. Established in 2019 and with the moto of "True Joy of Simple Food," little did I imagine that these few words would come to life during my first dining experience at this restaurant. We arrived at the restaurant on a Tuesday evening, on a rainy day. It is located in a modern strip mall of mostly clothing stores around it. When we arrived, I was impressed by the simple, yet impressive and comfortable decor of the place. Also, by how clean and well organized it was, and most of all by how friendly and welcoming the employees of the restaurant were to us. A young lady attendant explained how the menu was read and how the ordering was done. I already had looked at the menu online, and a Korean friend of mine who had eaten here before with her husband, had recommended a couple of dishes to me. I immediately ordered the "Pork chashu," and my friend ordered the "Create Your Bowl." Everything looked so fresh and appetizing, and I enjoyed watching how the attendants prepared our food in the bowls right before our eyes, behind a glass wall. At the end of the line was a modern register to take our payment, and then my friend took his bowl to the our table, while one attendant brought mine to us when they were finished making it. Not only did it looked very appetizing, but the taste was nothing less than amazing! Now I could see why the place was so full with customers coming in and out and others ordering food to go! I enjoyed every bit of the bowl in a relaxed ambiance and would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone! You will be surprised of experiencing the "True Joy of Simple Food." I was very much so and plan on returning soon for another wonderful dining experience. read more

Fresh ingredients is the key for long living health. It's an added bonus if you enjoy the options for beautiful colors that are on display in the vegetables and proteins. A double bonus if you enjoy poke. Started off with a base of soba noodles and spinach with marinated tuna and salmon topping it off with radishes, cucumbers, edamame, cilantro, green onions, avocado, with a light dab of miso dressing. I loved it, however the soba noodles needed some more TLC. They were way over cooked and watery. When all is said and done it looked huge, I did t think I would finish it. I left about half the soba noodles they gave me and I'm am very satisfied. Throw in some Italian soda, San pelligrino blood orange and black raspberry seltzer. It was a little bit of a drive from the hotel, but I'm elated with the opportunity to eat healthier. Next time I will only do greens as a base. read more

Rainbowl - Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen with pork - Salad Near Me - Roanoke, Virginia

I enjoyed the Chef's Special Wrap/Burrito. I wanted some extra spice so they added kimchi and I had two sauces to dip it into, a sriracha May and a sesame ginger. Both sauces were very good but added a challenge level to eating while driving. Their menu is quite vast especially considering all the fresh ingredients and that they do smoothies, grain bowls, wraps, ramen, salads, bubble tea, etc. My ding is for the attention to detail for the over cleanliness. The assembly are looked pretty tidy but when you are serving raw ingredients and the overall aesthetic of the restaurant seems to be fresh, green, clean everything should be to that level. Specifically: a few burned out and missing lightbulbs (in the very cool light fixtures), floor needs some deep clean attention, especially in the corners, toilet paper dispenser empty but toilet paper on back of toilet, deep clean needed in the bathroom. It's just what happens when a place has been open a few years and primarily run by teens and college students. Would I go back, totally! read more

First of all, can we take a moment to appreciate the name? What a cute, punny name. I have mixed thoughts on this place. First off, the food is not bad, but the portions are rather small. Today, I ordered two different burritos, one with tuna and one with salmon. They were pretty good it's just that they were the size of a regular Maki roll. I guess I was expecting something bigger. The price was reasonable for what you get. But when you are expecting a" burrito" that will fill you up and you get a regular Maki roll, it's a bit disappointing. I guess I should have expected this when I got their bowls before, and it was not filling. read more

This is for their food and their boba: Boba: I was encouraged by other reviews that this might actually be some ok boba in Roanoke. WRONG. It was so bad guys. Seriously. You will cry if you wanted boba and you drink this. Just drive to kung fu tea in Blacksburg. Or you know what. Walmart sells cans of boba and even those are better. Food: The sushi burritos have like no topping, they're so empty it's pathetic. The ramen is alright, I mean, it's not top tier by any means but of all the things I would get this. The bowls are pretty good but not worth the price. read more

This place is an excellent addition to the Roanoke food scene. They have rice bowl and salad options for sushi lovers and for folks that don't enjoy raw fish. Their ingredients looked and tasted fresh so the bowls were packed with flavor. The employees were very nice and didn't charge for extra sauce. They also make their own flavored teas, smoothies, and ice cream sandwiches. Prices were comparable to panera and chipotle. We left feeling full, so we thought it was well worth it! read more

I love these poke bowls! I come to Roanoke for work on a fairly regular basis, and I have to get a bowl every time. I like to create my own with the krab salad and yummy sriracha sauce. The poke bowls at Rainbowl do not disappoint. The fish is fresh and tasty with a rich, fulfilling flavor. All of the vegetables are crisp and moist, serving as an excellent compliment to the delightful fish. The salmon, tuna, and shrimp were exceptional. I would avoid the chicken, which is a bit dry, and stick with fish or tofu - the more traditional protein sources for a poke bowl. Each of the sauces were tasty and really completed the dish. The staff are knowledgeable about the options, describe the flavor profiles, and help recommend the ingredients and sauces you want based on your preferences. Love the service. The portions here are decent but not enormous. Expect your bowl to be filled to the brim, but the bowls are not the biggest so you might struggle to fill up on a single poke bowl - you may want a side dish like Edamame or one of the nice smoothies they serve alongside the Poke. I would not hesitate to come back to Rainbowl again and again if I were a local. If you like Poke you will love Rainbowl. read more
