Quick and healthy. Really like the concept of Mediterranean food being served in Chipotle style fast casual. The staff were very nice and plenty of seating inside. Basically CAVA with different options. You pick what you want in your bowl and it's pretty affordable. There are a variety of meat options - a chicken shawarma, another chicken option, as well as about four more. Lots of different choices for starches and veggies too. Management issues. The food is fresh, no complaints there. However, one of the employees brought her baby to work at noon on Saturday, 11-30-24. The baby was crying for a solid 15 minutes (at least) during the lunch rush. To be clear, I don't care about disturbing the customers, but I do care for the baby who is not getting his or her needs met sufficiently :-( I understand childcare is expensive, but bringing your baby to work then letting him/her cry is not the answer. Other management issues: the front door is broken and service was really slow. All of this can be solved if there was a manager on site, which there was not. There usually isn't. A long weekend visit to VT and wanting to find something relatively quick, easy, not break the bank, on the healthier side and easy in/out including parking. It was a Sunday night around 8PM - didn't know whether we would encounter a crowd and a long line. Pleasantly surprised that the place was virtually empty! Score! Think Chipotle and Cava. Same dining concept. More towards Cava / Mediterranean add-ins. Lots more choices than Cava (see my pics). Drink situation: forewarning - they have no Coke / Pepsi soda fountain products. Never seen that before. Instead they have some pretty cool non-carbonated juices with cool flavor combos. REALLY LIKED THEM! (Especially the Berry Watermelon!) I took a pic of the "flavors" they have. You walk in and the place is soooo inviting, open and SPOTLESS CLEAN. Loads of inviting seating to camp out in. Great hang out place. Very centrally located off of Prices Fork Rd. In the shopping center where Panda Express, CVS, Chipotle is. Plenty of parking in the shopping center lot. Bottom line, I gave this place 4 stars because of location, cleanliness, no crowds, great service (pleasant and friendly workers), cafeteria style service = cost effective, open late (10PM). Our meals were...fine, no issues. None of us were crazy gaga over our bowls but then again I've never "gushed" about a meal at Cava or Chipotle either. Having a fast-casual Mediterranean chain in Blacksburg has been nice! I tried this spot a few weeks ago, having never stepped foot in a Mezeh. I will admit that I am a big Cava fan and this did not compare to the food and service quality there. The line in which you wait for food doesn't really have any signage of how to order/the process. The options available are extensive, which is awesome since my friend tried the lamb and I had falafel. The restaurant itself was crowded when we went, however, the restaurant didn't seem to be able to handle it. read more

Great place for healthier food. Had the make my own salad. Tons of interesting toppings to choose from. Each one was excellent. Topped my salad bowl with hummus, pickled beets, couscous salad and more. The beet purée was the best. Could have eaten a bowl of it with flatbreads as a meal and been perfectly happy. read more

Location has nice decor with indoor and outdoor seating areas. However, the indoor seats become overly crowded very quickly just because of the layout. It would be hard to maneuver around people during a rush. They had a line but the service is extremely quick. So quick you probably want to have an idea of what you want before you get to the person making your dish. They have paper menus available by the door to look over while in line. They have options for rice bowls, salads, pitas, etc. They have a very large variety of toppings. Everything we tried has very well made and flavorful and was a great opportunity to try new things. They have more healthy or vegetarian options than you would get in most other fast food places. They don't server "normal" soft drinks. They have fruit punch style drinks and unusual sodas. I really enjoyed the flavors. I really hates that there wasn't ice available. Personal preference, can't stand room temperature drinks. Portions were good for the price which is just slightly higher than what you would normally categorize as fast food. read more

If you've been to Cava, then know that this place serves pretty much the same food (same, if you don't know the nuances of various Middle Eastern foods). I'm definitely happy to have a place like this here in Blacksburg with light, but great tasting food at an affordable price. I got a bowl, and I was surprised to find you can pick as many toppings you want! (I'm not sure about meats specifically, but I think there's no limit for everything else). Pretty good spot for lunch! Lots of options so it's super customizable for anyone (& and diet!) I only gave 4 stars because they don't have "normal" drinks (I.e. coke or Pepsi). They only have natural drinks which I personally do not prefer. It's also a little pricy for us college aged kids! Definitely worth trying - it's a lot of choices and can be overwhelming but go with your gut! It's taken me a while to figure out my fave order at Mezeh. I'm a bit of a wuss and had an early unfortunate run-in with the too-spicy-for-me chicken shawarma. Now that I've discovered the crispy goodness that is their falafel, I'm happy. The bowls are enormous and filling (two meals, probably), and the veggie toppings feel really fresh and healthy. Please, please do yourself a favor and get some extra pita bread for a buck. Their covid-19 takeout process is smooth. Easy online ordering, and though they're running with a skeleton crew, the food was ready not long after I got there. Honestly, I may prefer online ordering to in person. Being able to read descriptions of the ingredients made me brave enough to add sumac cucumbers and baba ganoush to my bowl. Both were winners. Even for a wuss. read more

The staff was very friendly and attentive however I ordered takeout through GrubHub and said no onions but there were red onions in the protein bowl and I had ordered a pita chips as well but I think because it was on a separate receipt from GrubHub they forgot to include it in the order and I did not realize until I got to my hotel room. They just added pizza to their dine-in menu , they are absolutely delicious. My favorite is the steak and egg...on a pizza!!!! It's like a party for your tastebuds! Also they freshly bake these ginormous chocolate chip cookies that is 1.67 (total with tax) . Soooo good! And they have homemade baklava that is mouthwatering delicious. This was my first time at a mezza. We just happened on it after our orientation at Tech. It was opening day. It works just like a Chipotle or a Qdoba. You walk in, you go through a line, and walk going through the line you let them know what you want. You choose between a bowl, a stuffed pita or a rolled pita. So the first thing is what kind of grain you want. You can choose between white rice, brown rice, and there were some other grains that I don't remember. After that you choose what kind of salad greens that you want. After that you choose the type of protein you want. They have shredded lamb, steak, chicken, falafel, and maybe tofu. I could be wrong about that I don't remember. then comes the awesome part with the toppings. There's so many toppings I can't remember them all. There's spicy hummus, regular hummus, herbed hummus, tabulah, Turkish salad which is like cucumber and tomato diced up really small, tzaziki sauce, etc. You get a small pita if you get the bowl. And it's warm and soft and crispy around the edges. Absolutely delicious. You can also choose at the end to have some pita chips if you want and I think there was some kind of dessert there. After you pay you go to the train station. And they have all these different kinds of lemonades there. And some craft sodas. I tried the tropical lemonade with kale and cucumber. And that sounds disgusting doesn't it? It's not. It's so delicious, and you can't taste the kale or the cucumber. I'm hoping that they'll be opening one near me soon. read more

I usually get the chicken shawarma or kofta on a bed of mixed arugula and greens with a variety of hummus's, baba ghanoush, and pickled or roasted veggies. From its eclectic fun atmosphere to the delicious bowls and tea options to the friendly, helpful workers...all 7 of us in our party raved about the fresh, high quality food choices and everyone agreed that we'd definitely come again...even the pickiest of us...We especially loved the shawarma, spicy feta, garlic-lemon dressing, the pita bread, traditional hummus, pickles items and the baklava....I could actually go on and on!! Went into the Blacksburg, VA restaurant today and ordered a to-go bowl. The two female employees were extremely rude and hateful. No one greeted me and they rolled their eyes, huffed, and were blatantly hateful to me while getting my food (and we're just as hateful to the other guests in the restaurant).The lady who was checking me out threw my side of tzatziki sauce in my bag and was extremely condescending when I was trying to get the QR code scanner to take my payment. I have never experienced such terrible customer service in my life. I will definitely NOT patron this restaurant again if either of those employees are working. This restaurant sucks. Ordered food through Uber eats, and they marked my order as ready for pickup; however, they told my driver they couldn't make the food I ordered. This was hands down one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant ever. I I ordered two bowls which tasted absolutely horrible both me and two of my friends tried the bowls and wanted to throw up from how bad it was, something tasted as if it was rotten. When I called the restaurant they told me they couldn't do anything until the manger came tomorrow. The next day the manger never called so I called them and they didn't answer. I then called the next day where the manger proceeded to tell me I was lying and then hung the phone up on my face.
