Spinach Calzone. Asked to sub out ricotta for artichokes. No up charge or problem.

15 minute wait on a Saturday night. No problem. Great beer and wine menu. So many options. My son and I started with the spanakopita with tzatziki. He had Greek pizza and I had the spinach calzone. So much homemade marinara on the side. We both only ate half. Really good! Love the atmosphere.

It's the second time I've been here. I came back for the gyro because it was so good the first time. It comes in two sizes (6 in and 12 in, but the 12 is really two gyros.) They come stuffed full of meat and tomatoes and lettuce with a great tzatziki sauce. Service is pretty good, it just depends on how big the crowd is, just like any other place. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. It's definitely a place I would come back to again.

Great spot downtown with a nice and relaxed vibe. Came here with a few friends for dinner and would definitely come back! I got the chicken souvlaki kabobs, which were cooked very well. Neither the asparagus nor the chicken were dry, and the rest of my friends were also very happy with what they got. Service was great, except their default tip options for when you pay were 25, 23, and 22% which is definitely questionable.

Food was just ok... Service was typical. The ambience was casual but good. I know this restaurant has been around for a while and seems to be a staple. Maybe try something besides the calzone.

    Indoor & outdoor seating available.

It took a while to get menus and have our order taken. Granted it was dinner hours during the day before VT undergrad graduation so, it's busier than usual. Once we ordered, food came out pretty quickly. My mussels in chopped tomato salsa type sauce was SO salty & overcooked. Rubbery texture. It tasted like mussels had been cooked in brine, frozen then heated up. Will never order again. The others ordered Gyros Sandwich, Cheeseburger, Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich. All of those tasted fine, no complaints. BUT, the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich had no grilled onions, nor grilled bell peppers. Some restaurants only do grilled onions but this one had nothing. Just 2 romaine lettuce leaves which left us all scratching our heads. I don't know if we'll be going back here when we go back to Blacksburg. **The steps to enter the restaurant slopes downward towards the patio and a bit slippery. There are no railings. An old man went crashing down hard onto the brick patio and it looked like he had hit his shoulder against the metal cart by the entrance. We all rushed to help him but his son(?) got him up and had him wait at the sidewalk to get the car. It was extremely scary. So be careful with those steps!!**

Best little restaurant in this. College town. Central to everything and you can't go wrong with their Greek style menu!

Their bowls always hit the spot and leave me full, satisfied, and feeling good. The service is always great and the staff is very welcoming. I will also note that I have never had a problem with my order here, they always get it correct. The menu allows you to order one of their bowls or curate your own. You can also add or take away certain ingredients to one of their bowls as well. Some of my favorite bowls are the Balboa, the Mayweather, and the Tamari. The bowls are super filling and packed with all the ingredients. Their chicken is also really good, not dry, and seasoned well. If you are in the area and want a healthy, filling meal, check Roots out! I am dying for them to open a location in Gainesville!!

The topping options weren't 100% clear, but I ended up with several beans and some vegetables. The main, grilled option that one adds to a bowl was available with tofu or mushrooms, and I thought I'd try a barbecue tofu in search of local flavor. It was a bit more on the sweet side than spicy and while it probably was the flavor they were trying to accomplish it wasn't quite what I wanted. Still, the bowl worked overall. The value for the money isn't great, but for those seeking something quick with a lot of healthy dietary choices, this is a valuable option.

Not overly busy on a Sunday evening, so service was attentive. Prices were reasonable. Reservations are available but were not needed on the night of our visit. Recommended. The restaurant is in a strip mall area near VT campus, with an outdoor/parking lot patio and two wings of seating on either side of the entrance. The graduation menu was a limited, but good selection of fixed price entrees, apps, salads and desserts. They also had cocktails and a nice selection of wine. The restaurant also doubles as a wine shop. A couple of us had beef cannelloni and one had a sausage and pasta dish, along with a calamari starter and Caesar salads. Calamari was hot fresh and very tender, with a good dipping sauce. Salads were crisp and tangy, with the addition of delicious bread. The baked Cannelloni was superb with a ton of flavor and served piping hot. Tasted like some real love went into it; same with the pasta/sausage dish. Large portions and prices were reasonable were quite reasonable. Finished with some light and airy chocolate mousse. Overall, outstanding service and food, especially when considering the limited options for finer dining in Blacksburg. Only drawback IMO is the quality of the food and service is miles above the ambiance and decor. Could still be rustic, but with some interior color and server dress coordination, would make for a classier dining experience.

I fondly remember coming here freshman year, 5 times a week, ordering a spicy chicken with no pickles, fries and a drink, and then walking over to Owens so that I could actually find a place to sit. But now, 3 years later, senior year, I have to be honest, this place really isn't good. I guess this is how Brutus felt when he left a bad Yelp review about Julius ceasar. (I think that's what happened but I dropped intro to classics after the first week) Obviously everyone knows this is not as good as a real chick fil a, no matter how much we might pretend it is, much like everyone knows tech's football team is not as good as an actual football school's. But today's experience eating here let me down more than last season did. The sandwich was mushy and dry, the fries were flaccid and oily, and even the Coke tasted like water from the duck pond. Right now I'm questioning what I was doing standing in line 25 minutes every day freshman year to eat here for lunch. While I can't really recommend that you eat here, I can recommend something to eat here, an unexpected combo that not many people go for. What you want to do is get a chick fil a sandwich and dunk it into the marinara sauce that comes with the Pizza Hut bread sticks, for a chicken parm that tastes better than that crap they overhype at Owens. Man I can't believe I just wrote a whole review betraying one of my favorite dining halls on campus. But maybe it was really them who betrayed me. Et tu, chick fil a? (I'm pretty sure that's Latin?)

My only complaint is that it is more expensive than regular locations being that it is on a college campus. If you don't have the meal plan you'll be paying inflated prices.
