I love cava but unfortunately I have to give this location a one star for their customer service. Whoever was working there on Sunday, April 4 at 12:15 PM was incredibly rude and offputting. We ordered a take out order via the app. We got there on time they were still finishing up our order. It was put on the counter and the containers were not closed so it was a spill risk already. She pushed the takeout containers towards us and said have a nice day without offering to bag it or anything. We had to ask for it to go bag considering it was a to go order. She proceeded to pick up a bag and just shove it towards us and make us bag our own food. It was a disappointing experience. read more

This Cava is beautiful because it's brand new!! The aroma of healthy food is intoxicating when you walk in. It makes you instantly hungry which I wasn't before I came in. The decor is minimalist and the food is delicious. It's a definite new restaurant but it's a Cava so it will be around for a while. read more

Ehhhh Lamb was cold The feta had the - laying out it a fridge flavor. Everything needed salt I asked nicely for a packet of salt and a lady who worked there said we don't have any. Portion size was dismal. They were even stingy on the rice and honestly rice is the cheapest thing there. You are charged an extra 3.60$ for lamb (which is fine) but then you barely get two scoops. Even chipotle fills your bowl more than this place does. Honestly you get a more filling meal for 18$ elsewhere. After an intense Yoga class at Laughing Lotus I needed to refuel. I'm not typically one to treat myself to lunches out, id usually rather spend the money on dinner but it's pride wknd so what the hell?! I'd heard about Cava through a friend of mine in the fitness industry, so I knew it would be up my alley. Sure enough it hit all the marks: healthy, big portions, great price, quick service. You pick your base lettuce or grains, a protein (chix, veggies, falafel), and a shit load of topping with NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE! If you eat out in New York City you know this is unheard of. Appreciate the large portions, the variety, and the service speed, but the brown rice today was undercooked and crunchy. I thought this might have been a one off but I noticed another reviewer mentioning the same thing at this location from a month ago. I've not had issues with their white rice though so I'll have to stick with that in the future. Given that there are several great fast casual options like Dos Toros and Dig Inn in the area though I'm not sure if I'd visit CAVA much again since who knows what else they are under cooking. read more

This Cava location is right next to a Chipotle. I saw it and decided to try it out since Chipotle is starting to become overrated imo. CAVA is one of my go-to fast-casual restaurants in my rotation, and I truly never get sick of it. It's my favorite fast-casual Mediterranean choice. I always opt to get a salad. You can choose from a salad, grain bowl, pita, etc. You get the choice of 3 spreads/dips - my favorite is the roasted red pepper hummus. It's delicious and has a kick to it. You then pick a protein and can get unlimited toppings. I love that with unlimited toppings and the choice of 3 hummus, you can really fill up at an affordable price (which basically just means it's cheaper than Sweetgreen). Healthy, filling, fairly priced, and quick! This location is really spacious should you choose to dine in. read more

I am a big Cava lover and have always loved the food. This location is absolutely ridiculous. I have no idea what the manager is having their staff do but their portions are a third of the size as every other cava I have been to. I had to spend 38 dollars on a bowl and a pita sandwich and it was such a small amount of food it was borderline insulting. This is not typical cava standards and I know this because I have been to other cavas. Do not go here until they fix their portion issue. Do not go to this location! I just waited 30 minutes for a bowl that I ordered online. After repeatedly speaking to the workers about my order in which they asked for my name several times. I was told my order may have been "taken" by someone else. This was a lie because I was there waiting for my 1pm order at 1pm! The workers were probably just lazy and not making orders fast enough. Solid mediterranean food. Streamlined and efficient. I got here with a friend for lunch and there were like 20 people in front of me, line jutting out the restaurant. I got to order and get my food in 15 minutes. I got a braised lamb bowl with yellow rice for like 14 dollars. It tasted ok, no red flags but also nothing that made it stand out. It tasted "healthy". My friend first said that about CAVA before we arrived and I do agree. But knowing me, I know I never eat healthy food per se. So here's the scene...I am rushing from work because I'm heading to assist with my friends baby shower (yaaaaay!), I see this place and think to myself, " this looks moderately healthy." I go inside and search for instructions on how to order. Restaurants nowadays are very different some have apps and such. It's the standard bowl assembly line so I roll with it once I found my bearings. I get rice...the assembly person then offers me greens, why not? I get greens. We move through to the next options and, wait... some lady comes in and stands at the register, I believe we are gonna go with assembly person, so the assembly person looks at me and says " I'm going to go see what she needs." Myself and another person who joined the line later gives each other the wtf look. I mentioned that it was strange to leave a customer you are already serving to assist another. I overhear the conversation and they make pleasantries and she lets the assembly person know she ordered online, she pays and goes about her business. My bowl is now sitting in the assembly counter she returns to it and continues our journey. Ok, we go on to protein I look at my options printed on the glass, I noticed that there was an up charge for some of the options...ok, cool. I make my selections and the assembly person tells me not once, not twice, but three times that there was an additional charge...annoyed I state 3 times I can see that. We move to the end of the assembly line, it's sauce time. She tells me that the sauces go from mild to hot I thank her for the information, and then she says to me "I'll let you think about what you want" then she turns to the other customer looking as if she will be starting his order...without finishing mine, again. The customer say to her that she can finish with me, the assembly person turns and asked me if she should finish with me first... Wtf?! How do you not know this???! "I say "yes" she then gets me my dressing and asks me a question that annoyed me further. I pay and give her feedback. I tell her that "leaving a customer multiple times during their experience is NOT a good experience." She mentions to me that she's the only one on the line and I assume that her reasoning was that leaving a customer multiple times was acceptable... I just leave because I still I have things to do. I have actually been walking by this place for quite some time and just decided to try it. As I walked in, I noticed a trendy setup, and it's setup somewhat like a chipotle with the line that's right in front of you and people scooping what you want into a bowl. The first thing you see when you walk into the door is that they have different drink options, such as blood orange & ginger fountian drinks. They already gained my respect for offering something other then soda to drink. The atmosphere here was extremely busy, so there was no real time to think about what I wanted or read into the menu. I kind of jumped into a line and everything was rushed. I actually proceeded to order and got a salad. I decided to put some taziki on it and make it chicken. I got a chipotle dressing. I soon found out why most people ordered the taziki on the side. That's beacuse it's just sort of scooped on and you have to mix the whole thing up. I sat down to eat and oh my# everything was extremely fresh! I did knock one star beacuse the place was kind of messy. The bar area had food on it and there are croutons all over the floor. Probably beacuse they did just get out of a rush. But I'm sitting here now and nobody is really wiping the dining area off or sweeping so that's ok. Overall I'd love to come back when there's not a rush and try again. read more

I've had CAVA maybe one or two times before this, but this location blew me away. My biggest recommendation is to get here early (i.e. before 12pm), late (I'd say probably after 2pm), or order online because on my way out the line was wrapping around the door. Some places make you still go up to the cashier and fight through a line to get your online order, but CAVA places your meal in a separate shelving area that is divided alphabetically so you can easily grab it and go. I'll definitely be utilizing this feature next time. I waited in the line a just after noon and it took maybe 6-7 minutes for me to get to the front so not too bad. There are menus available when you walk in and signs posted around so you have all the options clearly listed out, since there are quite a few. Moving through the line was quick but they didn't skimp on quantity--I received ample portions of everything requested and they were nice about letting me ask for double of something (what can I say, I love onions). Everything was clean and this location definitely looks brand new. In terms of taste and quality, all I can say is that I'll probably be back every week. I mixed black lentils and supergreens for my base and added the seasonal veggies (butternut squash, brussels sprouts, and cauliflower). Really great flavor/texture, perfectly roasted vegetables, and they gave me super large scoops. The harissa, crazy feta, kalamata olives, and sriracha yogurt dressing were my fave aspects but be careful of the yogurt because that stuff is spicier than expected. For a little over $11 with tax, this was one of the largest bowls of food I've gotten in the area. I was *stuffed* after eating just half of mine so I now have dinner too, making it a great deal. Definitely swing by if you work in the area and want to mix up the Chipotle/Dig Inn/by Chloe grind. read more

There's only 2 times I write reviews: when I am highly satisfied and when I am truly disappointed. Here's one of the latter. I went to Cava for the first time today (4th of July week aka no crazy lunch lines!). I got a falafel pita, with 3 dips (Harissa, Hummus, and Tzatziki) and a few toppings (pickled onions, tomato and cucuber salad, fresno peppers, and feta). 2/10 stars. I barely got any falafel (probably two small ones). Each bite of the pita was soggy and wet, my mouth filled with tzaziki and harrisa. They were very cheap with the protein (falafel) and heavy handed on the toppings and dips. I can still taste the pickled onions and peppers in my mouth (check out this photo where I had to fish out most of them as it was getting to be overwhelming). The tomato and cucumber salad looked very fresh and crunchy and I am sad I didn't get to enjoy it as it was swimming in yogurt dill. I was really looking forward to adding this to the rotation of quick food pick ups b/c I love this type of cuisine! I had high hopes as my office is close to this location and there is one near my home as well. I am super disappointed in the quality of this pita, and I hope their other products are not as bad as this. Cava has some pretty great locations in the city, and I hope they capitalize on that high traffic. If they continue to serve food like this, I doubt they will be anyone's go to lunch spot. For $9, I could have bought bottles of tzaziki and hummus and had that for lunch. If you are feeling for a pita/platter, better off going to Hummus and Pita Co. For those unaware, Cava is a Mediterranean chain from DC originally that made a big splash when they came to nyc, and with pretty good reason. Think of a mediterranean Chipotle where you get to start with your base, add sauces, dips, proteins. I am a BIG fan of their falafel; it's absolutely delicious!! In terms of sauces, I like to get the sriracha greek yogurt and the tzatziki-like one both on the side. It's a little pricey but definitely well worth it. Sometimes, you'll be standing in the middle of Manhattan near a Halal food truck, a McDonalds, and a buffet-style eatery, wondering "Where the heck can I find some vegetables?" That's when you'll turn around and see the yellow-orange allure of the Cava sign, welcoming you to a sanctuary of deliciousness. I've ordered lunch here way too many times to count, as have most of my co-workers, and there's a reason we're all hooked: Flavor! Everything is always crisp, fresh, and colorful to boot. It's also really easy to order (think Chipotle) and the staff are super-efficient. There's also a really chill industrial-meets-modern style that feels welcoming without beating you over the head with self-advertisement. Some of my favorite toppings are the falafel balls, chipotle lime dressing, and the tomato-cucumber slaw. Just get there before or after the lunch rush, because that line gets LONG. read more

I just came here and asked for my toppings and the guy working there put half a scoop of each topping. Not even. Also this bowl was 18 dollars for barley anything in it, the rice is hard and the chicken tastes strange. Can I just say - in a sea of generic New York City lunch spots all serving some sort of mix of soup, salad, or sandwiches, or bowls served at the new Chipotle of [enter random type of cuisine] - CAVA is the new hotness. Forget your Sweetgreen, Dig Inn, GRK, Dos Toros, Chop't, whatever - CAVA is a far better choice. They've taken the concept of this "mediterranean bowl" meal and heightened it to a new level. Each of the proteins are tasty (I'm most partial to the Chicken) and the portions are generous, not skimpy. The flavors from the crunchy veggies (endive, cabbage, radicchio) are BOMB dot com. And then the drizzle of sauces you get at the end - they're all tasty and if you get them in moderation, aren't too unhealthy. Pro Tip - get those crunchy pita chip thingys on top. Warm chicken + cool veggies + crunchy chips make for such good texture. I have found myself passing by this place for dinner post-gym after getting lunch there as well. The line can get a little crazy given how good it is, but the 6th ave location usually has the A-team out in full force, moving people really quickly. read more

What a wonderful healthy lunch I had here! I'm an the most non healthy eating person on the planet. I really enjoyed my lunch. There were a lot of good choices. Some of which I didn't know what they were Lol. The service was excellent. Everyone was sooo nice and helpful. The place was spotless and the restrooms were too. I like that.
