Come here at least once a week. Sorry, Chipotle. I get the super green salad bowl with a scoop of rice. This meal comes with a pita?!? WHAT?!? Next up are the sauces. I get the eggplant, red pepper hummus, and harissa. And then the meats. The choices are lamb, chicken, meatballs, and for you vegetarians, falafels and mixed vegetables. This meal ends with your toppings. I get everything in this, except for the feta cheese. Not a fan, but comes the second round of sauces. I get the herb tahini. Freaking bomb. And then, they have this loyalty program. My birthday just passed and they reminded of me of my old age when they sent me an email, giving me a free meal. My husband and I stopped in the Cava while walking around Mosaic District and definitely don't regret it! So many great toppings and sauces. Their selection of meats is impressive. My first experience with Cava Mezze was at Tyson's Corner Mall (probably not a wise choice as mall food tends to be poorer overall). Long story short, I told myself that Cava Mezze just wasn't for me; I just couldn't understand all the hype. Yesterday night, my dad brought a bowl and a salad home for the family to share, and man was I completely thrown off guard! The food was delicious. I believe the salad had a combination of beef + chicken and the bowl had lamb in it. Although I like the taste of lamb, I usually avoid it just because at most establishments lamb has that off-putting lamb-y smell. I am pleased to report that Cava Mezze's lamb had no such smell and tasted very fresh and flavorful. I don't know what's in Cava Mezze's rice, but it has this addicting quality to it -- so smooth, almost buttery (?) My dad also opted to try all the toppings, so he asked for every topping and there was not one thing that I didn't like. I should also mention that the portion sizes are HUGE. I feel like 1 bowl could be shared amongst 2 pretty hungry people. Cava Mezze is definitely good for those days when you want to take leftovers to work/school. read more

I love cava and frequently order from another location. However, I did not enjoy my experience at this location. I went in a good hour before close for a grains bowl and the treatment I got from the worker left a bad taste in my mouth. Upon entering I greeted the worker and asked for a grains bowl, she turned around to the greens and I told her I would just like brown rice with lentils. She seemed put off and I assumed maybe she just heard me wrong. When it came time to order protein I asked for lamb meatballs and she reached for the regular meatball and I politely told her I wanted the lamb ones. At this point she started treating me with a visible attitude that my friend even pointed out upon leaving. When I asked for my sauce there was barely any in the container and she only succeeded in getting what was essentially a small dollop on the bowl. She started to put a lid on it and I politely asked for more sauce since there was no way the amount could cover what was in the bowl. She gave me a very rude look before putting a small amount in a sauce container. I can understand having a rough shift or maybe even frustration that comes with not hearing someone as they order, as I had to repeat myself a few times as I ordered and she seemed unhappy, but I was in to order well before closing, was nothing but polite, and only received ok service and cold treatment. Nice twist on Chipotle, but with a Mediterranean flare. Everything is fresh and portions are generous. I usually opt for a bowl (comes with white or brown rice) and your choice of three dips. The tzatziki is my personal favorite so I get two scoops of that and one scoop of whatever I'm feeling that day. Your choice of protein (I like the braised lamb) and how ever many toppings you want. You definitely need to try this place at least once if you enjoy Mediterranean food. It's nothing super fancy like it's brother Cava Mezze in Clarendon, but it's a delicious quick meal that's wallet friendly. read more

I happened upon this place via a menu in the break room and I'm happy I did. I opted for a bowl so I could stuff it with goodness and stuff it I did: brown rice, meatballs, crazy feta, tzatziki sauce, hummus, tomato&cucumber salad, kalamata olives, diced cucumbers, and yogurt dill. I also ordered a side of falafel. While it is indeed delicious, it is definitely seasoned for a variety of palates (meaning lightly seasoned). I prefer my food with a bit of kick but that is just me being picky (if I could pick one thing). Also, the to-go bowl is made for recycling but then they give you this HUGE paper bag to put it in. Absolutely great! As others have said, it a Chipotle style Mediterranean restaurant. I had been eyeing the Cava restaurants for a couple of years and never made it to one. Finally my bf and I went and we regret not having gone sooner. The huge amount of free toppings is much appreciated. Rice bowls provide a ton of food. I don't really like the texture of the chicken, but the braised beef is awesome (and I eat barely any beef). The falafel is a good choice as well. Others love the crazy feta, but it just didn't do it for me, I didn't get a ton of flavor. The tzatziki and hummus are tasty though. It is on the pricy side for a quick service, but worth it. They're seasonal juices are delicious as well (and self serve and the same price as soda). Right now they have watermelon mint, a roasted jalapeño apple, and a vanilla bean limeade. The only downside is I don't love the attitude and friendliness of the employees, but other than that it is great! read more

Love this place! Its a causal, Chipotle style restaurant with Mediterranean food. It's very good, with lots of healthy options. It's my go to place for a quick lunch or dinner if I don't feel like cooking. I've had the chicken, meatball, and lamb sliders - all were good. The dips are yummy (harisa is very spicy!) and the toppings selection is tasty. It does get busy at peak times so you may have to wait a bit in line. read more

This place is the bomb! First of all the location is great. It's right across from the green space at the Merrifield center under the Target. The food tastes very fresh and looks great except for the falafels, I'm not a fan of those. Anyways, I choose to get the bowl with a pita on the side. The rice is a delicious base for the different grilled and braised meats they offer. And there are a wide variety of things to add to the meat and rice. My favorite are the hummus spreads and Tadzhik. Please give this place a try you'll love it. read more

Like a lot of the other reviewers, I have good things to say about Cava Mezze Grill. It's basically a Mediterranean Chipotle. I order the same thing every time I go - the "greens and grain" with the the supergreens and brown rice with a mini pita on the side. I get three spreads - the eggplant, feta, and red pepper hummus. I usually get half beef meatballs and half lamb meatballs, but I'll probably just stick with the beef meatballs in the future because there is a surcharge for the lamb ones and unless I'm going to opt for entirely lamb meatballs, it's not cost effective because I'm paying the full surcharge for only half. I do have a complaint that they don't list the surcharge or tell you when you are getting your protein. I wish they would make that more transparent. For the other toppings, I get the tomatoes and onions, pickled onions, cabbage slaw, quinoa, mint, and feta. I skip the dressings. Usually at most restaurants, I get water, but Cava Grill knows how to make my mouth water with their juices. They have three. It is often a lemonade infused with a fruit, a cucumber or kale juice, and another fruit infused juice. Cava Grill is more expensive than Chipotle, but I think the ingredients are better and I feel like I've had a healthier meal after leaving Cava. read more

I felt rushed when they were taking my 3 bowl orders. It wasn't even busy at all so I felt their customer service was very rude! Other than that, refreshing good food. I hate that I have to pay an extra $1.50 for spicy lamb meatballs though :/ I felt cheated on.. You don't see Chipotle charging their meat options other than charge extra for double meat. They charge $1.50 each on top of your $8.95 bowl for 4 spicy lamb meatballs :/ Idk if it's worth the price. We've eaten here about a dozen times. It's totally addicting. The food is outstanding, the service is quick and polite, and there is usually enough seating (although you may have to stalk for a table during the lunch/dinner rush). I think the portions are of good value for the price, and you can always add double meat if you're really hungry. read more

I just ate here for the first time. Cava Mezze Grill is similar to Chipotle in service, layout and decor. The only difference being the food, which is Mediterranean. I like the concept of the customer being able to build a customized meal. For the base, I chose a brown rice bowl and for the spreads, I chose the Crazy Feta and Harissa. Both were wonderful. For the meat choices, I choose the braised beef and grilled meatballs. Both tasted yummy! And last but not least was the vegetable toppings. I selected to have everything thrown in because I'm a lover of fresh vegetables. Overall, the meal was absolutely delicious. I'll be coming back to this place in the very near future. read more

Food is really pretty good, I enjoyed it alot. Once you walk in you would think, hmmm...this looks very familiar, well, the whole setup and ordering is like if you were walking into a Chipolte Mexican Grill. Plenty of different combinations you can make, I had 4 pitas made for me and they help me with the selections. Note the portions are smaller than what you would get at Chipolte, but the flavors are different and enjoyable. So you won't miss the slighlty smaller size of their portions. For parking, since the area is very congested due to the multitude of shops and limited street parking, go park at the Target Store Parking Garage, its free, and Cava is right there a couple of doors down on the same block. I visited the Cava Mezze Grill at the Mosaic District during the week for lunch. It was considerably crowded and the line was long but it only took about 8-10 minutes of waiting. It reminds me of Chipotle but with greek selections. I got a brown rice bowl with chicken, 3 dips; dill cucumber sauce, roasted red pepper hummus, crazy feta sauce, and topped it with pickled onions, and cucumber/tomato mix and a couple lemon slices. Initially I was slightly dissapointed that my bowl was barely halfway full. I later figured that they use the same bowl for salad and the lettuce takes up a lot more room than the rice-so I assumed it was normal. I also read other reviews where other people thought the same thing. However, I was overly full and very satisfied after finishing the bowl so I was kind of glad that there wasn't more or I would have been very uncomfortable. I will probably get the salad next time or a pita bread. I also got the "original" lemonade to drink; it tasted very fresh and not too sweet. My total bill was $11.66; which is about normal for this area. It was very delicious and a nice change from my usual options of Panera or other chain restaurants. I will be visiting again very soon and wish they had one in Woodbridge/Lake Ridge area! read more
