This is a great concept but i'm not so sure about the execution. I ordered the Greek Chicken pita sandwich and definitely tell them light sauce if you don't want it to be drowning in sauce. The flavors are all really good and taste fresh, but the pita fell apart as soon as the worker tried to roll it up. It was almost impossible to eat. I came back another time and got a build-your-own bowl and it was much better! That time I asked for light sauce and it was still a normal amount of sauce (you can always ask for more). The food is pretty salty and somewhat gamey so I did have some stomach issues after. If this is your cup of tea, go for it! Would definitely recommend light sauce, though. read more

Love Cava. We started coming to this one which is a little further out for us because it's a lot cleaner than the one on McKinney Ave. near downtown Dallas. As with any other Cava the service is hit or miss. Sometimes they're friendly, sometimes they're not. That is starting to be the norm just about everywhere though. We always choose to build our own bowl. They have lots of great options and the food is good. It's fast and convenient with decent prices for what you get. Stopped by Cava with my crew for the first time. The entire building was clean and well-stocked. The customer service from Jesus and Lorena was exceptional; they were extremely patient and friendly, explaining the different flavors to us. I chose to create my own bowl with super greens, saffron basmati rice, spicy honey chicken, fiery broccoli, garlic sauce, tzatziki sauce, red pepper hummus, traditional hummus, onions, roasted corn, lemon herb sauce, and pita bread for my moral kombat finish move ha. Side note: I also mixed the blueberry lavender with sweet tea, which made a great combination in my opinion because the blueberry lavender by itself is tart. Just awful. I will never go back to this location. I would rather drive further than pray that my order hasn't been stolen. My to-go orders have been stolen 3 times within the past year. Yummy! A great fast and fresh lunch during my busy day. My favorite protein is the falafel, and I love the crazy feta. 2 types of hummus too! The parking lot can be a little crazy during peak hours, but luckily there's a garage right around the corner. If you can walk there it's a much more preferable experience. This location has a beautiful interior, especially the furniture. I love the layout and simulated wood chairs. The service is impeccable as well. Athena will be the reason I come back every time! So helpful. It was my first time eating at Cava and she walked me through the ordering process step by step. I even was recommended items to try since I am vegan as well. Interior and exterior were both clean. I love that they had signage to emphasize that they sanitize the tables frequently. I'm all about cleanliness. Food wise, loved that the majority of the dressings, toppings, and dips were vegan! Sometimes places put feta in everything. I'm happy that wasn't the case here. I wish my Strawberry Citrus juice had a little agave in it for sweetness. It was missing a little something to it. That's a personal preference though. The portions are nice sized so you'll have enough food to eat off of it twice if you would like to. The biggest thing was that everything was fresh and flavorful. I've gone anytime between 11am-1pm and 6-10pm. Or maybe I've just always had impeccable timing? Cheers to the staff who are all very efficient. I think the rate limiting step is the time it takes the customer to decide on the many delicious options. There are definitely more options here than at chipotle! Food - healthy and always generously portioned! I always choose to build my own adventure. Parentheses are my go-tos. You get 5 main category if choices with several options for each. The options are extensive, so I'll list a broad overview. 1) greens, rice, or 1/2 greens + 1/2 rice (splendid greens + basmati rice) 2) 3 dips (roasted eggplant x3) 3) meat or 1/2 one type of meat + 1/2 another type of meat (grilled chicken) 4) garnishments/toppings (cabbage, cucumbers, pickles, tomato + cucumber, pita chips, lettuce, fire roasted corn) 5) dressings (harissa for extra spice or I often go without because my bowl doesn't need the addition) Space - clean, spacious, large. Cava is like a healthier and Mediterranean version of chipotle. You can pick pita wrap, bowl, or a salad and pick your own meat and toppings. Everything has so much flavor and are marinated very well. Meat options are Mediterranean inspired of course, with choices of falafel, lamb meatball, roasted salmon, etc. Some meats are extra charge. My favorite part of Cava is their abundant number of fresh toppings and how I can put as many toppings as I want without an extra charge. If you love to try new things like me, it's so fun to put all the toppings in your bowl and nibble at different things. And their dressing and dips? So many options and all with great flavors as well. You name it and they have it, like tahini, garlic sauce, yogurt dill, etc. Even the type of greens you can get as a base for your salad bowl has several options. Cava is heaven for those who want to eat healthy but want to eat variety. The portion size is also great and I can easily eat one bowl as two separate meals.
