CAVA is my favorite Mediterranean fast-casual spot and easily my go-to for healthy fast food. I love the salad bowls, and the braised lamb is always my order, it's flavorful, tender, and really satisfying. The toppings are great too, with plenty of options that let you build something fresh without it feeling boring. I used to go to CAVA all the time when I lived in New York, so I'm genuinely happy to have one here in Costa Mesa now. To my astonishment and disappointment, Cava has no mechanism to leave customer feedback. Even website and app have no feedback links, only a link for "General Inquiry," which feedback is obviously not. So I ask myself why would I ever return to a restaurant that cares so little about its customers that you lack even the most basic convenience to convey feedback? Perhaps it's because your ownership mistakenly believes it has achieved perfection in every conceivable way? That would be an unprecedented level of arrogance. So this makes two negative criticisms because my initial complaint is that by lunchtime your restaurant is already out of both cucumbers and onions and while it's located across the street from a full grocery supermarket yet not a single employee could simply spend 10 minutes picking up or even having vegetables picked up. A veggie bowl without cucumbers and onions is sad but not as sad as your oblivious company leadership not caring. read more

I love cava so much. It was my first time at this location and it was definitely worth that drive after work. The customer service was phenomenal. I really appreciate Andres and Bella for helping me out with my order. Some of the nicest people, and they really made my day with how helpful they were to me with my order. The food here is so affordable and they stuff your bowl. I love that this Cava location is close by my work and I will definitely be coming back. The last two times I've gone to this location to order a bowl, my meat and rice were cold and I got sick with food poisoning (diarrhea) afterwards. This location needs to be inspected by health officials. read more

It saddens me to leave a bad review for this Cava location as it's the one closest to where I live and I order very frequently from here. Unfortunately, to go and delivery orders are only about 60%-70% of the time accurate. In most cases there's at least one ingredient missing and most concerning is that they don't check for main allergens (dairy) and that could be a major issue for some customers. That said, this location seems terribly understaffed and overworked on weekends with order timing being off by at least 10 minutes. I hope someone takes the time to read this review and does something to improve things for the only coastal Cava location in OC. read more

Woof, this Cava was a disaster today. Giving it three stars because food is always solid, and service is usually a bit better than this. Warning to those placing online orders around lunchtime ... you'll want to order before noon and also triple check the order you placed is accurate before leaving. A few areas where they could improve: (1) Communication! Even a digital board showing order numbers. Volume of people waiting for online orders was ridiculous and nobody knew how long the estimated wait was, making it frustrating in the middle of a work day. (2) Resourcing: If more are placing orders online than in the store, assign more employees to work on those. A lesson in urgency would be helpful as well. Felt like the human assigned to this area was moving slower than a jeweler trying to set a diamond. (3) Being solution oriented: There were a bunch of bowls off to the side, which I realized were waiting for chicken schwarm to cook...but when the employee finally asked, multiple ppl were ok with the regular chicken to avoid waiting longer. Will be back, but yikes...it was rough. read more

Honestly, this location has been better I assume a little while ago they changed management and they have been better than they used to be a few years ago. Now, today I order my usual salad bowl and when I pick it up, it looks to be about half of what I usually get. No pita bread after I ordered that, even the sauce is only half full. I honestly wish they would be more careful with the to go orders. The portion as shown in the picture was honestly only about less than half of the bowl and that is me seconds after opening it, incredibly disappointed. No lettuce, I ordered double pickled onions and corn, and it seems I got half of a serving instead. After being incredibly loyal to this location, I think I'll finally have to look for another location or another chain altogether, hope y'all reading this watch out, they are now handing out chipotle size rations, good luck to all. read more

I'm not a fan of Mediterranean food, but my guest wanted to come. She had a massive pita with chicken. It looked delicious and she ate it all up! Loved it. I had a kid's meal that was comprised of half a pita & I chose falafel. My meal included choice of grain. I chose saffron rice. The meal came with 2 sides. I chose chips. Sooo good & tzatziki sauce. We love Cava food, but this location is poorly managed - they are always out of key toppings (ie cucumbers), this has now happened several times, which makes the meal. Last several times out of cucumbers, or out of lemonade, skimp on the portion, need to ask several times for the pita (where the Cava employee should be the one on it) and sometimes get a worker with an attitude. Please review customer service with your workers and ensure ingredients in stock. read more

When I want to feel healthy, I come here. I tried their hot honey harissa chicken and it was delicious. Flavor bomb in each bite. I tried the harissa pita chips but it tastes like a stale pita bread, wish it was crisped up more. read more

first time trying and I got the steak+harissa since I saw it was popular, thought it was OK, the steak was pretty overcooked and chewy and the bowl was pretty dry. I've been to several Cava locations and never had a problem, until this visit to the Newport Beach location. On Thursday around 4:30 PM, the service was very poor. The staff working at that time showed no customer service skills and didn't seem interested in helping. The black lentils were completely undercooked. They were hard and crunchy, like tiny pebbles mixed into the food. It made the bowl impossible to eat. We didn't even bother complaining because the overall atmosphere made it clear it wouldn't go anywhere. We left and drove to another location instead. I will not be going there again! First I showed up about 5 minutes after my pickup was supposed to be ready and no food, just waited although the restaurant was almost empty. Maybe 5 minutes later they called my name and I got my bag. I go to look in the bag and the lady says it's all there. I get to my next stop less than 5 minutes away and there are no utensils or napkins and a dressing is missing. So much for it all being there. I open my bowel it's maybe half full and the rice is cold. A first and last for me. I will stick to HB Pita grill, the food is better, the price is better , it's always hot and they always get my order correct. read more
