This place is absolutely incredible! One of my all-time favorite mediterranean wrap spots in OC! Their wraps are HUGE so you get really great value for the money. Flavor is always on point, super delicious and juicy. We got the chicken Shawarma with saffron rice with veggies. And a lamb and beef kebab the same way. Their citrus jalapeño green sauce is to die for, literally can't get enough of it every time I go. Their yogurt and spicy sauces also hit, but the green one is special. Always served fresh and at the perfect temperature! Every time I go in, the restaurant is super clean and spacious. The staff is incredibly nice, we always have a wonderful experience every time we go! It's a great option for taking on a picnic or a hike. Tried both dine-in and take out with my co-workers. The location is great as it's in a strip mall with lots of parking. They offered indoor or outside seating. Indoor is nice and clean with the sauce bar and water station. Staff is friendly. Food is good and portion is huge. We love the convenient of ordering online for pick up - save us time especially during lunch rush. We can order ahead and just pick up and have lunch when we get there. No line. No waiting. Pros: good enough variation to the menu, decently large portions, especially the pita, good flavors with enough sauces and dressings to choose from, flavorful proteins (everything overall really). Cons: it is actually a tad pricy and lacks enough order customization, didn't see an option to buy just the proteins like the kabobs/skewers. Notes: in all honesty I thought this was going to be a generic kabob spot. Is it authentic? I can't speak to that. But are the proteins tender and flavorful, you bet. Considering it was the end of the night almost, they took their time to prepare all of the food well. The restaurant was also very clean which is always a plus for me. I'm hard pressed to give them a 5/5. Was it good? Yes. Was it amazing? Well that's pushing it. What would have made them a 5/5 was is the price was a tad more reasonable, then it would be a 5/5 partly because it would be great bang for the buck. read more

Shop was good size, plenty of seating, large parking lot, in between Descanso and Shabu restaurants. Rewards program is good but ordering at the kiosk was ok. I think when it's not busy, maybe not offer it, just an idea. People dine in so they can talk to other people, not press buttons on a screen. I love TKS! It's I love the little plaza the shop is in, there's a lot of good eats all in this same plaza! I usually order a wrap, but today I felt like a plate and customized a steak plate with salad and pita bread. Ordering off the self service computer is super easy; it clearly lists all the options and prices. Water cups are right next to the computer. You order and just wait for your name to be called. Lunch time was super busy but I only waited about 10 mins for my food to be ready. The steak pieces on the kebab were super tender and juicy! There are three sauces available next to the drinks machine and they are all delicious. I'm super addicted to their yogurt sauce. It's creamy and pairs well with the salad, pita and meats. If you want a nice spicy kick, try the green sauce! It's cilantro jalapeño and adds a nice flavor which also pairs well with the white yogurt sauce. Store is clean, and service is fast and friendly. The Kebab Shop - Two spicy, two not spicy - Mediterranean Near Me - Costa Mesa, California

I went to go catch a movie nearby, but I needed to eat lunch first. I don't go to Orange County a whole lot, but I know The Kebab Shop has several locations in Orange County. I had been to 5 other Kebab Shop locations and wanted to see how this one compared to the others. So far, this is looking like one of the better locations, although I'm sure the free premium toppings on wraps and bowls is a pretty big factor here in the compare and contrast. If you're not sure what the last sentence means, the backstory is that The Kebab Shop recently celebrated opening their 50th location around April 2025, and they have since celebrated by offering free premium toppings on bowls and wraps. I thought the offer would only last for a month, but they've since extended it such that it was still valid even on my visit to this Costa Mesa location! This Kebab Shop is located in the Shops at Mesa Verde on the southwest corner of Adams and Harbor. It's about 2 blocks south of the 405 freeway. CVS and Vons are the anchor stores here, but The Kebab Shop is on the opposite end of the parking lot, closer to Adams. Look for a fountain with some umbrellas covering tables and chairs. That's where The Kebab Shop is. They have two sets of front doors, indicative of the ample indoor dining area, which consists of three long community tables and a handful of other tables by the walls. And if you prefer outdoor dining, there are also some tables with umbrellas around a fountain just outside the front door. The front counter is to the left as you enter the shop. Even though there were no other customers in line, an employee (Velinda?) told me she'd be with me in a minute. It was probably closer to two before she was able to take my order. They do have an order tablet on the right side of the counter, but I chose to wait since the tablets can be a little cumbersome to use, especially if you're fickle with your order. After studying the menu for a bit, I decided on a Grains Bowl with Grilled Chicken Shawarma, a new protein offered at The Kebab Shop that doesn't incur an upcharge, which I very much appreciate. Now gone are the days when I will have to pay an additional ~$2 just for a chicken not named carved chicken, and the grilled chicken upgrade isn't even that much of an upgrade in my opinion. For my bowl, I went half and half on the base: truffle brown rice and fries. *Hot tip alert* the fries are normally a $1 upcharge if selected as a topping, but you don't get charged when you choose fries as a base! However, Velinda mentioned that I can't get saffron rice as a topping if I chose truffle brown rice as a base. Not totally sure I understand the logic, but oh well, I'd prefer truffle brown rice over the saffron anyhow. After placing my order, I went over to the sauce station to get one of each of their sauces so I could do my usual thing and take a photo of the sauces arranged like a traffic light. Unfortunately, there couldn't be a red light in this situation because it would have looked nasty! Like bloody nasty! That's because when I depressed the pump of the Fire Chili sauce, it came out all liquid-y, unlike the OG Yogurt and Cilantro Jalapeno sauces. The red sauce also came out with so much force that some ended up on my hand as if I got into a knife fight with someone. I needed a handful of napkins to clean up the mess, both on the sauce counter and my hand. It took about 5-6 minutes before my name was called, and I appreciate how the male employee who handed me my bowl gave me a smile, which should be a standard, though they do forget from time to time, understandably. I've ordered this bowl, or at least a similar one, several times, and this one was almost up to par with what I've had before. I say almost because I didn't feel like the flavor came out as strong in this bowl. In fact, there was more flavor in the olives than there were in everything else combined! That includes the OG and Cilantro Jalapeno sauces as well! Perhaps that bloody Chili sauce was indicative of how muted the other sauces were; I probably could have used double the amount of sauces I got, but I can't fathom how much fuller I would have been just to get the desired amount of flavor for my taste buds! I also thought some pieces of the grilled chicken shawarma were a little burnt, but not terribly bad. I do appreciate how they gave an abundance of fries as part of my base! They always go well with the rest of my bowl. I haven't been the biggest fan of The Kebab Shop, especially given that I've never given 5 stars to any of their locations before, but they've gotten close as of late, though maybe not *that* close at this location with all the shortcomings I've mentioned in this review. Nevertheless, it's a good solid spot for Mediterranean eats, and I do recommend trying their wraps/bowls, especially while the premium toppings are still complimentary! I don't recommend, however, snoozing on their sauces because if you do, you'll definitely lose! read more

Stopped by this Mediterranean spot and was pleasantly surprised right from the start. The inside was clean, bright, and had plenty of seating, so you're not crammed up next to anyone. Ordering was done through a kiosk, which was quick and easy, and someone even came over to walk me through the options -- big points for service. I built my bowl with half saffron rice, half mixed greens, mixed meats (which ended up being lamb and chicken), added falafel, skipped the olives, and went with pickled red onions, cucumber and tomato, tzatziki sauce, hummus, plus hot sauce and citrus vinaigrette on the side. Everything came out super fast, which was a nice bonus. We didn't end up getting the extra sauces on the side like we planned, but it wasn't the end of the world. Flavor-wise, I really enjoyed the bowl. Everything worked well together -- the meats were seasoned nicely, the pickled onions added a nice tang, and the greens and rice made it feel balanced. The falafel was delicious, crispy outside and soft inside, though they were definitely on the smaller side. My only complaint was the amount of sauce. There was a lot of it, and the garlic flavor really took over the whole bowl. I love garlic, but it didn't need to be the main character here -- all the other components were strong enough to hold their own. Next time, I'll definitely ask for all sauces on the side so I can control the flavor balance a bit more. That being said, I'd happily come back -- good food, great service, and a comfortable spot to sit and eat. read more

Part of the Vons and CVS shopping center with Mendocino Farms on the corner. Kids eat free on weekends as long as you buy an adult meal with drink, and that deal got us to go. Fast and friendly service in a casual atmosphere. We called in our order and picked it up. It was ready on time. If not, order at the register and wait. Both adult and kid option come with choice of meat. We got San Diego wrap with gyro for adult and chicken with fries and saffron rice for kid (kids meal also comes with choice of sides and a drink). Be sure to get the green and white sauce, and note red sauce is hot! The savings made this an affordable meal at just over $20 as of Feb 2025. Food was great, too! read more
