On a budget, this place is adequate, though a nicer hotel might have made me more fond of Dublin.
To be fair - two months living out of a 10x10 room can be tough on anyone. Unfortunately the building is old, so the problems of oldness - mold, uncomfortable beds, tiny rooms - are present here. The bathroom shower tiles were really bad when we first moved in, but I mentioned it at the front desk and the cleaning staff took a brillo pad and some bleach to it, and after that it was at least livable. The shower itself was TINY, and inevitable some part of my skin brushed the door every time I got in. Shudder. We were in a street-facing room - on the 3rd floor, but still, waking to the sounds of traffic and/or screaming drunk people is never pleasant. Unless you're a cityperson. Which I am not. I regret not asking to be moved to a garden-facing room - while the karaoke and random outbursts of singing from bar patrons would have gone on into the evening hours, at least the noise subsided enough to allow for sleeping in.
That being said, the staff was phenomenal, and attempted to accommodate us as much as possible, even hauling a hefty mini fridge up to our room, which was an absolute necessity. There is a kitchen/mircowave in the basement, and depending on what room you have, the wifi was decent most of the time. read more
