My friend and I stayed at the Belvedere Hotel for $193 (steep for my standards) and we enjoyed it! Pros: - We loved our room (seemed like a business room upgrade) because the finishes were very nice and modern. The beds were so comfortable with fancy sheets and our bathroom had lovely Rituals products. - The included breakfast was outstanding- delicious scrambled eggs, baked beans, pastries, bacon, sausages, yoghurts, dried fruit...and more! - Great location, about 15-20 min walk to city centre and close to many bus lines - Friendly and courteous staff Cons: - While the shower stall design looks slick and minimal, the lack of a shower door resulted in a lot of water coming out onto the floor. Great place to stay! Stayed here for St Paddy's 2022 and enjoyed my trip. Rooms are a bit outdated but by the looks of minor construction going on it is possible they are updating? Overall the hotel was nice. Pretty lobby, breakfast on-site for a fee (unfortunately we were unable to use it due to it opening later than were used to). We never tried the on-site bar and show area because it was pretty dead or closed, which was weird considering we stayed there Fri-Sun. The rooms were nice, a bit outdated but they tried. The beds were pretty comfortable. I feel they need bigger windows or for the windows to open more due to lack of draft- it was SO warm at night. Also noise was pretty loud. You could hear everything outside the room...a lot of loud drunks came by in the early hours. And one night the fire alarm went off. Fun. Didn't sleep well here. Did love the nespresso machine though!! read more

Nice location with easy access to central Dublin. Room was very outdated with no fan/AC and just two windows opened part way to cool you down. Very noisy most of the night, hard to rest, close the windows to nullify some of the noise and roast in the room. Good food with a free breakfast buffet. Spotty on the staff, one night super helpful, the next very much the opposite. Comfy beds at least, might stay again if on the remodeled side. read more

------Atmosphere, Service/Amenities & Location ---- The Belvedere Hotel is a midrange hotel very worthy of a stay. It's a 3 star type hotel I would say. The amenities are enough to satisfy a visit, especially if traveling and include all the basic needs. Nice check in staff and other employees in general. The lobby area has various seating, a vending machine with some drinks and snacks available, and on-site there is a bar and grill with a couple TVs and fairly large screen; it's a good enough place to grab drinks and grub. Also, if you decide to indulge in breakfast (whether it's included in your price or extra), the breakfast is served in their restaurant area and is buffet style and serves an excellent full Irish breakfast and continental delights with fruits, cereals, yogurts and pastries and choice of coffee, teas, and juice. There is free Wifi available in the hotel that works just fine. The hotel is In the heart of the city, located within walking distance to Dublin's main street (O'Connell) and several attractions. Nice! ----Room-------- I stayed in a small twin room that included two twin beds, a small safe storage, phone, small closet space, hairdryer, and a very decent bathroom with a tub and shower. There was no iron or ironing board in the room, but it is available for use by asking reception. There is no microwave or fridge either in case you're used to that. The room and bathroom were clean, the bed was comfortable enough and noise level seemed fine even with a good amount of people staying in the hotel. Since I've been, they've updated some rooms and the look of them, so some might include other things such as a table/ work desk, complimentary tea and coffee amenities, and more. read more

The worst! They advertise early check in but didn't have the room ready until two hours after check in. The staff didn't speak English only Italian??? The sheets were rough, the room dark, small, a view of a wall, loud, right by bar. There were 27 men singing and the management said "what do expect - this is Dublin" They were unhelpful rude and the place is like a two star hotel. We checked out before the first night was over. The staff said "I hope your next hotel is better." I strongly suggest going elsewhere read more

I really liked this hotel because our room was a quad and it was spacious, though sheets were not clean even the curtains had stains. But it was significantly close to O'Connell Street so walking back and forth was a breeze! read more

Average 3-star hotel at best. But prices are good, service is very friendly and location is convenient. However, make absolutely sure you stay in a renovated room! Huge difference. The Belvedere side (the side above reception) seems to have more renovated rooms including flat screen TVs, new paint/carpet, air that is not stuffy and a more cheerful ambiance. The other side, the Parnell side, is not renovated and has chipped paint, horrible stinky air air, old fashioned TV's and is just not nice. One star at best. Reminded me of a cheap hosel. Seriously. These rooms should not be allowed to be sold. Wireless is free and seems to work well throughout the hotel. I would not return. read more

From the location to the price, the Belvedere was a great deal. I've never been to Europe so I have no idea how hotels are. This could be the norm for all I know, but here are the quirks we encountered: 1. The power does not stay on without your keycard. You have to plug it in to a wall receptacle to have power. 2. The bathroom sink faucets did not stay on-they were timed. Also, there was no "warm water" as you were unable to run them both at the same time...there was only hot/cold. There was a drain plug, so I just washed my face from the basin everyday after creating my own warm water. 3. The room was TINY-but considering we didn't spend much time in it, and the time we did spend we were resting, it turned out to be just fine. 4. I bought plug adapters but unfortunately they didn't work in the hotel's sockets. Luckily they had ones we could use! 5. The tv didn't work. At first we were pretty unhappy about it, but again we didn't spend much time there so it wasn't too much of a factor. The pub in the hotel was great. The bartenders were friendly and the food was good. It was really convenient since they served food until 9:30pm and most places in Dublin close by 4 or 5! The hotel was within walking distance of everything-Dublin is a very walkable city! There is no shuttle to/from the airport with this hotel, but you can take the AirLink/AirCoach for 7e and it stops right up the street from the hotel. I would definitely stay here again! read more

Due to me turning 21 this year I wanted to do something special and a trip to Dublin was defo on the books. However most of the planning was done by the rest of the family but when the taxi driver tells you your staying in a good hotel but in a "don't go out at night" location, many bells start to ring. But I was surprised, not much to look at from the outside, the hotel is very nice and stylish on the inside. The first thing we noticed was the bi-lingual staff on the front desk who were very helpful and allowed us to check in 30 minutes earliy. The room was on the group floor (very helpful for finding after a few pints) and was clean, tidy and had loads of space for the 3 of us. The bathroom had both a bath and a shower and a fairly large TV great for watching in the evening. Overall I can't fault the quality of the room and room service who had the room perfect for us every single day. The hotel had a safe facility which was handy and plenty of information for things to see and do. The breakfast facilities were fantastic with an all you can eat English buffet, with plenty of other items for those of us who prefer and more healthy lifestyle. However all the staff seemed to be trainees (not normally an issue) but all the staff also seem to speak every other language bar English, helpful I know! Another key element to this hotel which I highly recommend is the hotel's Irish night, with proper Irish food, music and of course dancing. The food was perfect in every way and it was an amazing 3-course meal and which had us full by the end as we washed it down with of course a pint of the local beer. The musicians were fabulous and had us singing and clapping along and plenty of banter and jokes along the way. The dancers were stunning and breathtaking. Now being an actor and a man of the world I, of course, had to have a go and so the audience participation was the perfect opportunity to have a go and why not? This was incredibly fun experience and left me wanting more (defo worth a go). Anyway, before I bore you anymore, I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. This review is solely for the restaurant, as we did not stay overnight here. I am traveling with a student your group and the meal we had at the Belvedere was the best so far, with prompt efficient service. I read an earlier review where the poster said this restaurant catered specifically to your groups, and I'm pretty certain that's the case. If you can eat here on a night with no tour groups, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. But during high tourist season that might be a gamble. read more

I was there in July, 2018. On arrival at 6am, we expected to wait until 330pm for a room, we did not have to wait, they had a room available for us. Very clean room, great service, excellent front office staff and friendly. I would reccommend to anyone who travles. read more

We spent exactly $50 per night for 7 nights (my friend and I split it - so it was $175 for each of us), booked on Expedia, which was surprisingly much cheaper than booking on the hotel's site. The place was cozy. Our deliciously warm room (thank you, giant old fashioned wall-sized radiator) was a nice reprieve from the cold March weather. It was relatively clean, the showers were hot, and the sheets were crisp. Only downsides were the lack of a mini fridge (American spoilage speaking here) for storing expensive Dublin dinner leftovers, super shoddy telephones (ours crackled and the reception desk people couldn't hear us), a TV that didn't work (which really was fine since we were out all day), and no wi-fi to the upper levels (it's only on the ground floor and probably the first floor of rooms - lucky bastards). Free wi-fi in the lobby was great, especially since there is only one computer set up for Internet use and it is ridiculously slow and coin-fed. The bar downstairs is nice and I had a derricious steak there (I ate steak on 3 occasions in Dublin and this was the nicest). The hotel gets swarmed by brigades of noisy teenagers with backpacks who stay for the weekend. Thank God they didn't stay on our floor, as the walls are very thin and you could hear your neighbor keying in, coughing, arguing with his wife in French, and having makeup-sex. Overall, great little place to stay on a budget. read more

Upon arrival after an overnight flight we were greeted promptly and allowed to check in early. We were also made aware that we had been upgraded to the newly renovated superior room for no extra charge! The room was absolutely gorgeous, clean and spacious! Our room had an open glass shower with a ceiling shower spout (like rainfall), a huge tv that is able to stream Netflix and sync to phone with plenty of channels and fast WiFi. The room also had a safe, fridge, iron and ironing board, comfy bed, extra pillows in the closet and an easy to operate thermostat. They also a variety of breakfast buffet foods and the staff always acknowledged us in the hotel lobby or at breakfast. Whenever we needed to book a taxi or had any question the staff was as knowledgeable and helpful. The area around the hotel was never somewhere I didn't feel safe walking to at night and is walking distance to most tour offices! Would highly recommend and was our favorite out of the Cassidy's Hotel and Jury's Inn. read more

Nice place. Great showers for a westerner. Breakfast is great deal. Deal included the 3 course dinner and Irish dancing show and breakfast. 200euro for three. First course: very good. Goat cheese was thick. I'd like to have had a one more tomato and beet slice to full out the salad. Cook messed up and made the wrong salad order. Waiter offered to have cook make it right but since I couldnt decide between what was served and what I ordered I kept with what I had. I liked the pickled beet. 2nd course: Salmon very good. Beef extremely over cooked and hard on one side. I'd fire myself if I served something like that! Third course: wonderful chocolate cake. Show was great and full of energy. For the price, one of the best hotels in Dublin. You can walk to the city center in 10 minutes or less and the walk is interesting. The hotel staff were nice and the breakfast was very good (ie as good as the breakfast you'd find walking around looking for something better). read more

Great location, very friendly & helpful staff, spotless & warm rooms, charming bar/dining area, fantastic price, complementary tea & coffee in-room, free Wi-Fi, good water pressure in the shower and they have some smoking rooms available (3, I believe; ask for one when booking if you're interested). I realize smoking is very naughty but for those of us who partake in this bad habit - a rare Dublin hotel that accommodates this to a certain degree, esp. in the cold, wet winter, is a god-send! And there's only a few, so it doesn't affect the rest of the hotel. (I hope they continue offering this choice!) I've already recommended to friends & family since my stay & will happily stay here again on my next trip. Our group booked 2 rooms - a smoking & a non; The non-smoking rooms are more newly-renovated with flat-screens & modern decor than the smoking ones, which makes sense - but we weren't in Dublin to watch TV or look at the walls. If you want the 5-star treatment, feel free to pay those prices but if you're looking for a clean, comfortable base within the city, with a very amiable staff, that doesn't cost a fortune (Dublin is/can be very expensive, I recommend saving your cash for some of the fabulous restaurants, events and pints of Guinness), The Belvedere is a great find. read more

I do not recommend you stay at this hotel - even if the price is good. The front desk staff during the day is straight-up rude. We asked for help getting a phone number for a local restaurant to make a dinner reservation and the woman behind the desk refused to help us. When we were able to locate the number on our phones, she then refused to make the call for us (despite us being international travelors and without cell phone service to place the call ourselves). In addition, we stayed in a room with a radiator pipe running though it that was constantly 80 degrees. When we called to ask them to turn it off, first, no one showed up. On the second call, some one came up and said there was nothing she could do. The rooms are small and the bathroom was moldy. Do not waste your time with this hotel. read more

Our room was much larger than other rooms in Dublin. The staff was very friendly and was very attentive. The bartender (and I hate that I don't remember his name) was superb. He chatted with me all night long and had excellent recommendations on sites to see in and around Dublin. Staying at his hotel was an awful experience. It is old and dingy and the front staff has no sense of hospitality what so ever. I would say the staff lacks an understanding of the fact that you are paying to stay there. Need directions to somewhere? don't bother to ask the front staff. Need your room cleaned at a certain time? They MIGHT accommodate you. Need to make a call on the land line, they will charge you. Want to enjoy your breakfast that you are paying for in your room? Nope! They will actually just stare at you while you eat instead once you try to leave the dining room with it. Just do yourself a favor and do not stay here. Also, 1) No AC 2) Shower drain was disgusting and never worked (I asked them to fix it twice and they didn't so they just came and removed the drain head) 3) No microwave 4) No fridge read more

I gave one star to a fine person named Mark at the front desk. He gets high praise for being a consummate professional. My complaint is the restaurant which seems to exist for tour groups NOT guests. First night half the menu was not available, then a huge group came in and we were ignored. Second day I was told at lunch that maybe the chef could give me soup and sandwich because a GROUP was coming. Third day they closed the dining room for food from 5 to 730 because of a GROUP! The female servers were bothered to be serving us. We were not rude: They were. I would never go back. The TV was hard to use with two remotes, and housekeeping was poor. read more
