Thank you for birthday coupon! We enjoy driving from Fresno to Cattlemen's. We split a T- Bone steak. It was excellent. I ordered King crab legs to go with it. They were not what I expected. Almost as small as snow crab legs. Disappointed. Carrot cake excellent , BUT, chocolate cake much better. Thank you for coupon!!! read more

They lost our reservation. told us the wait would be a lot shorter then it was, and the food was both undercooked and burnt.

Just wanted to compliment the staff at Cattlemen's last night! I was a little leery to go out to dinner on Father's Day knowing how busy it would be, but sure glad we did. From the drinks at the bar, to my perfectly cooked prime rib, and not to forget delicious dessert! It was all great! Special thanks to our server's Taylor, Michael and busser Cody for great customer service. read more

We stopped in on our way back to Clovis and had the best steak and service we've had in a long time. We ate in the bar because we were dressed in casual attire, but had first class service. Our server, Argen, was positively delightful, professional and very helpful. He made us feel like we were the only ones in there, but it was busy. Our steak was cooked to perfection and the food was served quickly. We will definitely be back. It's closer to go to Selma from the Temperance area than going to River Park, and the meal was worth it. read more

My brother and I were travelingon September 25th and,we decided to stop and grab a bite to eat at a nice sit down place instead vs. a fast food place. I saw an advertisement for Cattleman's so we decided to check it out and I'm so glad we did!!!! The food was outrageously good!! The service was top notch and, they were pretty busy so to see them just on top of it was great! The manager came over to our table and greeted us and he was so incredibly hospitable and, very welcoming! Over all experience was fantastic I highly recommend Cattleman's you won't be disappointed. I'm sorry the review is late!!! :) read more

Katie made our evening here. She is a solid ten server. We also can not say enough about the awesome beef. Wife had rib eye, I had prime rib. Awesome we will be back and we hope to see Katie once again. read more

Thought it would be better from the reviews. I traveled from Hanford because of the great reviews online, and my family telling me that the Prime Rib is to die for. So after all of that I had to try it. Upon arriving I was told a 40 minutes wait, however we were seated within 10 minutes which was great. It was a super overestimation I guess the hostess was new or something because there was only one group of two in front of us. The service was very slow we waited, and waited it took about 35 minutes to get our Prime Rib and New York Steak. Let's just say the Prime Rib is not to die for 35 minutes for waiting for food that was under cooked, we were on a limited time line so I was unable to send it back or anything else. To add to the fact that my food was under cooked it took me 15 minutes to track down the waiter to have my drink refilled, when I finally got it refilled he gave me water instead of sprite, it surprised my taste buds, but in the end it was a honest mistake. Overall the service was not worth the money or the 20 mile drive. Almost a hundred dollars for two people, and you get under cooked food. read more

Excellent food. Excellent service. Don't know why there are so many negative reviews. This is my third time there and I've been very pleased with everything. The prime rib is amazing and the rack of lamb is to die for. Definitely going back. read more

Dinner Reservations were made 9 days ago for 6:30. We were there to celebrate a birthday. We werent seated till 7:15. We were led past the kitchen to the back "add on" portion of the restuarant. It was very stuffy. I ordered a margarita. Worst one ever! I ordered the rib eye steak. Of the 5 bites i had i was only able to chew one of them. Our waiter was a doll. His service was great! Having said that, i ate the brocoli and the potato. They took the steak off the bill. Would i recommend this restaurant? Nope. For a few dollars more i can go to a nice restaurant and have a FANTASTIC ribeye. read more

I was very pleased with my dining experience at Cattlemen's Steakhouse. My husband and I went there to celebrate my birthday. Management went above and beyond. Our table was decorated with white linen and flowers which added that extra touch to make me feel extra special : ) Dinner was delicious! Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was superb. We started the evening with bacon wrapped shrimp. It was paired with a chipotle lime butter dipping sauce that complemented the shrimp very well. Salad and sourdough bread were also enjoyed prior to my entree. The bread was so good, it was fresh, warm and had just the right amount of toast to it. I had to resist the waitresses offer to bring us more. We both decided on the filet mignon oscar style. The tenderness of the steak just melted in my mouth. It was topped with blue crab, asparagus and topped with a savory sauce. I paired it with their signature twice baked potato, mmm, mmmm, good! We also paired our entrees with a side of shrimp scampi. The flavor of this dish was rich and pleasurable. My husband chose a sweet potato as his side. I am so glad he did! It was delightful. It was topped with a pecan nut butter. You would think that after all this delicious food we would be done. However, I just couldn't leave without trying their newest dessert! A sweet apple pie filling wrapped in a pie crust and fried to perfection. It was served hot with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with caramel sauce. It was the perfect sweetness to end our dinner. To my surprise, the waitress, countless other employees, and management hand delivered my dessert. They gave me a Cowgirl hat and proceeded to sing "Happy Birthday" to me, talk about making a girl blush! This is definitely a birthday celebration that will be remembered. Thank you Cattlemen's Steakhouse for a wonderful dining experience! read more

Came on a Wednesday and wasn't disappointed! Food was beyond great. Got the New York with shrimp, and my parter got the Rustler steak. Best dinner ever! Our reservations were for 4:30 and we were seated by 4:40. Not bad in my book. We ordered the couples special and everything was PERFECT. Best steak I've had! Terrible service. Waited 1 1/2 for my order to be taken. Ridiculous! I wanted to buy a bottle of wine and the waiter kept convincing me to buy by the glass. I told him I wanted the bottle and he basically wouldn't sell it to me. Why have bottle prices if I can't buy it? I was very upset. A friend invited me today and I thought of the last time and said no. read more

If I could put no stars I would! Made reservations and got there 15 min ahead of time. 30 min after my reservation time I was told it would be a few minutes. 45 min wait time?!!!! Come on!!! Whats the point of a reservation if you are gonna wait just as long as those that just walked in. read more

...Punching myself for not coming here sooner! Lived in Hanford for three years and this was our first trip. Read some recent reviews and realized restaurants don't stay open 50+ years because they suck. Service could not have been better. Had a margarita and expected the typical heavy dose of sweet/sour mix but this was not the case. It was great. Wifey had the rib eye medium and it was delicious. My beef ribs rocked and the kids loved their mac and prarie dogs. They especially liked the fries. Another server noticed my oldest child eating all the tomatoes from the salad bowl and brought more without us asking! Our main server even gave my kids cowboy hats! Who does that!! Thank you Cattlemens!!! read more

The food was delicious. I got the new York steak medium rare, AMAZING. The sour dough was DELICIOUS. The strawberry lemonade was AMAZING

Food was amazing, loved the unlimited salad & warm sourdough bread. Great family atmosphere!!!

This was by far my worst dinning experience ever. I went with a group of 5 and we all swore off the restaurant after that terrible experience. The service was dreadful . From our waiter completely ignoring one adult at our table, to having my personal space invaded, being nearly hit several times (by the wait staffs elbows and trays). My belongings were kicked and shoved under my chair by the waiter (with no apology). Refills really didn't happen. One of the entrées came 20 minutes late and when it did come it was awful. My husband, who will eat anything, couldn't eat it. The sweet potatoes and twice baked potatoes were awful. We aren't picky people who are easily fussed, but this was awful. We were upcharged for items that were not disclosed. I honestly am skipping over so many terrible parts of this meal. Bottom line, DO NOT GO HERE. read more

So a friend is visiting me from New Jersey who I haven't seen in 41 years, Decided to take him on his 60th birthday to Cattlemens, called for reservations while driving back from the coast. I was asked if there was a special occasion and I stated yes for the reason mentioned above. Got to the restaurant a little early, no problem getting seated immediately. We were asked again if this was for a special occasion and we again stated why we had come 60th birthday today and a 41 year reunion. My Friend had the ribeye, with mashed potatoes with chives. I had the prime rib mashed potatoes with chives. Both potatoes came with chives (though another mashed potato was delivered without chives. My prime rib as really muscular, tendons running through the meat, though it was cooked to my liking, it just didn't cut the way a great prime rib should. my friends steak wasn't anything to write home about. Server asked if we wanted anything else, no thank you, got the check paid it and left. Felt a little strange that we were asked twice what the occasion was, but got zero feedback of any interest from this establishment, why ask??? read more

I took my husband here for our anniversary and was really pleased with our experience. We had never been here before but had heard that it was really a good place with excellent food and service. It all started with our server Jess G. She was super friendly, wished us a Happy Anniversary, and took care of us well all night. She never let our drinks run out or made us wait for anything. She recommended the Dinner for 2 so we got it. It was A LOT of food! Our steaks were cooked perfectly. I like mine medium rare which I find a lot of restaurants have a hard time with. Not here, it was cooked exactly how I like it. Shout out to the cooks! At the end Jess surprised us with an anniversary song along with other staff. :D I have never known a restaurant to do that before! They brought a candle and everything. Overall, the evening was really wonderful, my husband loved it, and I plan to turn dinner here into an anniversary tradition. Thank you Jess and staff! read more

What can I say? The manager David Russell handled our experience with the most care and professionalism we have experienced in a long time. He is truly an example of a working manager. Well, where do I begin. A few nights ago, we had a private party at Cattlemens for the selma football team. It was a great turn out, but we did have a few problems. First, we only had one server, Brandon. It was a party of 52. Poor guy was so busy running around trying to get everything for us, that he started to look a little overwhelmed, but kept an awesome attitude the entire time! The manger Started to help him him serve, but it looked like he got overwhelmed as well, so he left, leaving myself and a few friends to serve. It was buffet style, and the banquet was a donation from Cattlemens so we felt it was our responsibility to help serve, but I still think some extra help would've been great. Again, I want to thank Cattlemens and Brandon for an awesome experience. read more

Make sure you make a reservation on a friday night. We came at 615 for our reservation and it was jam packed. Line was out the door, luckily we made reservations on their website which was simple and easy to do. Still had to wait approx. 10 mins with reservation but that was nothing compared to what people were waiting for so no complaints here. The menu is simple, they have a special where you get one appetizer, 2 dinners and 2 desserst for i believe $70. Jumbo shrimp cocktail is misleading as an appetizer, these shrimp arw far from being jumbo. And if i had paid for it by itself i would have felt like i just got robbed but it was part of the deal so it was ok. The star of the show is the meat. We got the ribeye steak medium rare and was cooked to perfection. Juicy, tender, not over seasoned, just really really good steak. Our waitress did the best she could but you could tell that she had too many tables to account for and was overwhelmed, the place was packed so i dont blame her. Overall great meal, worth coming back to but not too soon. read more

I went in last night with two other people and there was no one in the front waiting to seat us. We had to go to the bar entrance to be seen. Bartender asked if we'd been helped yet and asked us for our preferred seating. When we said the dining hall he quickly got menus and showed us in next to the fire place. Then there was a wait to be served. Our server did not seem upbeat at all and seemed like we were a bother. After the long day i had i chose to go to Cattlemens for dinner and that was the service i got. Poor service. Decent food for the price paid. Highlight of our experience was the parking lot was empty at 845 so we got to park close. Krissy was not happy to serve us. My guests didn't want to complain because they didn't want to get anything for free, that's not it. Have someone in front to seat your guests. When guests do come in, treat them with respect. Embarrassed. read more

Once again we enjoyed celebrating at our favorite restaurant last night! This time it was for our 34th wedding anniversary! Everything was great - from my sweet berry drink, to the bacon wrapped shrimp, to the perfectly cooked steaks, and ending with a piece of fantastic chocolate cake! Rick/Ricky? our server was great and everyone else was attentive and friendly as usual. My only slight disappointment was to find that raspberry vinaigrette is still not a salad dressing option. Please think about updating the dressing list! read more

Second time eating here, and both times it has been fantastic. The steaks are cooked perfectly, the staff is excellent (Jess G was our server I believe, and she was awesome) and the portions are huge. If you're looking a good, hearty meal at a fairly decent price, this is the place. read more

Literally horrible, and i'm sure the manager is waiting for me to write this review. We had a 7 pm reservation on a Saturday for 10. It was our wedding night, and after a small ceremony we decided to have Cattleman's for dinner since this is one of my husband's favorite restaurants, and we like to support local businesses. We arrived at 6:30 pm, checked in, hostess said it'd be close to 7 before we could be seated, no problem at all. At 7, she tells us it'll be a few more minutes. At 7:15, she tells us it'll be 10 more minutes, they're bussing the table. At 7:20ish, the manager comes out and says the previous party is still sitting at our table and they are waiting for them to leave. So the hostess lied... I was in a wedding dress, and the rest of the party in tuxes and dresses. At 7:30, I walk inside, ask for the manager, and he hands me a menu and tells me to pick 3 appetizers that will be on the house for the wait. About 5 minutes later, we are sat. Appetizers are on the table. Only the appetizers. No napkins, no silverware, no plates. We are eating with our fingers and licking them clean. 10-15 minutes go by, tableware is brought. I order 2 more appetizers, drink orders are taken. Bread gets brought another 10 minutes later, no drinks. I ask for our drinks (mind you , we all just ate apps and now bread) and we are told the bar is busy. A comment is made to our server about no excuses on the drinks, it's been almost 20 minutes. The server storms off. He comes back almost immediately with drinks. He leaves, comes back with salads and bread baskets and literally throws them on to the table. One of the salad bowls almost spilled on the table. A comment is made to him about his actions being unnecessary. He storms off. A member of the party goes to talk to the manager about the server. The manager offers a different server, we didn't want a different server, just better customer service. The server returns after this conversation a completely different person. The manager checked in with us about the server and we said he had changed his attitude. The server takes our food order. Food arrives. Not a word said to anyone by the server. We are never once checked on during our meal either. Our drinks were filled after being emptied almost immediately receiving them 20-30 mins prior. Remember those additional 2 apps I ordered? Yeah, never got them. But you better believe they were on my bill. $360 later, minus the 2 apps that were immediately removed after being brought to attention, Cattleman's officially ruined my wedding dinner. Not that the 10 of us matter to Cattleman's, but we will never eat there again, or any location by that means. We've been going to this location for years and have never had this type of service. I've worked in food service, it was my very first job, be open and honest with your patrons. We would have understood if you told us the situation from the get go. However, if we had a reservation at 7, there should have been a table ready for us at 7. The waiter was left a $50 tip, even though he really didn't deserve one, and that's the honest truth. There are a few additional incidents that happened during this visit that I didn't mention, but I am very, very disappointed in Cattleman's. read more

If I could give a negative star I ABSOLUTELY WOULD! This was by far the WORST experience I have ever had at any establishment. I took my elderly mother here to treat her to a nice dinner. First off the hostess and waiters were extremely rude and basically ignored us for larger tables. It took 30 or more minutes to even get some drinks. Seemed like the staff cared more about flirting with each other and helping people who I assume looked like they had more money. My mom ask alot of questions so she can understand the menu since she has never been there and it felt as if they seemed annoyed she kept asking questions. The tone my mother was spoken to was nothing but DISGUSTING. I honestly hope no one's mother is ever treated the way mine was. Everyone seemed so SNOBBY. We actually felt like we didn't belong there and everyone looked down on us. I even over heard management talking down on their staff basically calling them stupid. It was the most unprofessional place I have ever encountered. After waiting an enternity for our food. My mom's order came out wrong. So we sent it back. By the time she got it back it was late and she was so upset she couldn't even eat we just had to take it to go. As we were leaving my mother is very slow and servers were rushing past her and as we passed a group of servers near the bathroom I heard them talking down on the customers they were serving making fun of them. I will never in my life return to this place! My heart breaks that people have the ugliest souls to complete strangers. This place Carter's to whom they choose is privileged and wealthy. Disgusting place of business. read more

We're really not steak ppl but wanted to eat somewhere local and knew we'd have a good time at Cattlemens on a rare night without the kids. We both had the salmon, she liked the teriyaki and I preferred the dill sauce but both were great, along with the twice baked potato! Our waiter, Nick, had another large party he was handling but our service didn't suffer at all. All requests were handled right away and no drinks even got close to being empty. It was a great and lively atmosphere but still intimate enough in our booth to have a great time. We'll definitely be back again. Thanks! read more
